I need to be able to get calendar alerts to my cellphone with out getting e-mails to my cellphone

Critical need to send Calendar(from AOL Gold) alerts to my cellphone without getting e-mails to my cellphone.

    I need to be able to look at my AOL calendar in my AOL App on my iphone like all the other e-mail providers allow
