cefsharp browser
I understand that back when I started with AOL in 1993, the cefsharp browser subprocess was the method for AOL to connect to the internet. This is 2026 you really need to update the code so not to be dependent on this subprocess. It takes up extra memory, once on it keeps generating multiple instances of the program that eats memory. It seems to cause other multiple issues too. I am finding on line websites that do not work with AOL but works fine with Edge or Chrome. I have to wonder if this sub routine is causing the issue. Though I'm a long time customer, I am strongly considering cancelling my subscription to AOL and start using a browser that will support all my on line work. Please fix it. Thanks

I just checked my task manager and there are 63 ChefSharp.BrowserSubprocess background processes running on my new Windows 11 desktop computer running AOL Gold. That seems a bit much. All I have been doing is checking email, nothing else. Make it stop!

I've been struggling with it for the last few days too. I saw another post where an AOL rep responded saying there's one cefsharp process for every window opened in AOL Gold. ********. I have AOL Gold running with NO windows open and it's got 7 cefsharps by default! I open my email window and it jumps to over 30! Before even opening a single email! This is ridiculous and the past few days it's so bad that my computer freezes up and it's built for heavy graphics gaming! I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and it's still horrible. I can't even check my email without it seizing up my computer's entire resources. I've been using AOL since the early 90s and I can't believe I'm actually considering letting it go after all this time.
