It's been a year now of aggravation and wasted time for us all. My complaint that mouse forward and backward buttons still do not work in AOL which worked fine in 9.7 was deleted several times so that others could not vote or comment. Tech Support has been no help and yes I have called several times and was told to report it here.
   Let's list more issues in addition that we are all experiencing and want fixed. Our patience has worn thin:
    1. AOL freezes up entire Internet when sending out emails with photos
    2. AOL just signs off on it's own sometimes for no reason. 
    3. The only place on my computer that I get Security Pop-Up Warning Scams are when I am signed into Gold. 
    4. Toolbar icons and stationary still have not been made available. 
    5. Deleted emails keep reappearing again in the new folder.
    6. Photos are huge and have to be sized down just to email them and then there is still a      size limit which results in several emails when one sent used to be sufficient.
    7. When Welcome Screen opens, it now includes a blank email to write to someone?
    8. F5 does not refresh.
    9. Excel files cannot be downloaded.
   10. Inconsistent double spacing in emails.
   11. Copy and paste of text does not paste like the original.
   12. None of us have the time to waste calling Tech when they can't fix our problems.
   13. Emails are slow to leave.
   14. Many emails have to be opened several times before there is actually something loaded that can be read. 
   15. Too many spam emails.
   16. When typing first few letters of an email  address, it used to auto suggest. Now any addresses with those few letters anywhere in them pops up and you have to sort through a long list in hopes of clicking on the correct one.
   What exactly is the purpose of AOL not fixing these issues and why were we forced out of working email programs for something that is defective?

8. PLEASE stop inappropriate merging of feedback

   I provided feedback earlier today on an issue with "Check for Updates", and it was inappropriately merged with another post which was also related to "Check for updates" but not the same issue. My feedback was merged without recourse to a closed feedback item, so that I couldn't even point out that the two matters were not the same!!! I understand that merging may be appropriate, but it isn't when the only relationship may be a couple of keywords.

   This feedback isn't a rant, but an attempt to preserve the value of feedback. I've been an AOL user since its inception, and involved in computing for ~50 years, so this is not my first rodeo and I have the chops to comment on interface design.

   I was prompted to provide this feedback because in the process of trying to provide feedback I could not tell whether the other feedback items I could see in various topics were current or not. Not until I chose to delve down into an item someone else posted did I discover that the posting date for the original post and comments were displayed.

   This reflects less than optimal page / functional design, and needs improvement -- even if this is a minor issue, it is a barrier to constructive engagement. 10. AOL Desktop Gold feedback page needs improvement

    This post is being made on 2018-08-22; I am on version 11.0.1916.
    I was prompted to provide this feedback because in the process of trying to provide feedback on ANOTHER topic (which was my first attempt to use the feedback capability), I had difficulty with just the opening page! I was signed into AOL Desktop Gold via "Submit feedback" on the HELP menu. This opened a browser with the AOL Gold feedback landing page, but the upper right corner said "New and returning users may sign in" and did not reflect knowledge of me as a user. Clicking on that link prompted me for an email address and name, and offered a button labeled "Sign up"! What I would be "signing up" for was not specified, and I definitely didn't want to sign up for anything, so I cancelled out and found I could provide feedback without following that path. AFTER I provided feedback (new item) the upper right corner showed my Gravatar -- labeled ANONYMOUS (!) with live links for "Stay signed in", "Settings", and "Sign out". What the settings were for was not specified and it wasn't even clear what I was signed into as far as the web site was concerned. I figured "Settings" had to be harmless and followed that, to discover that it applied to the feedback mechanism -- and that even as a registered and signed-in AOL user, I had to change my "name" to be something other than ANONYMOUS.

    All of this reflects less than optimal page / functional design, and needs improvement -- even if "feedback" is a minor component of things. I realize that it gets a lot of abuse -- maybe you need an "insider" program like Microsoft's for people who are sincerely interested in improving the product. FYI, I've been an AOL user since its inception, and involved in computing and software development for ~50 years, so this is not my first rodeo and I have the chops to comment on interface design.

13. AOL will not fix constant running background processes from AOL Gold in Windows 10 slowing all systems due to this - they fall a deaf ear!!

    AOL Gold on Windows 10 will not stop running multiple background processes for the last 2 months. Gold & W 10 all up to date. No new antivirus installed - always same Norton for years. Worked fine for almost a year. Uninstalled & reinstalled by your people 10 times, never fixed. No one at AOL will fix this for us, called a dozen times & we pay $13.99 a month for this! Must reboot with every icon opening ro erase the inappropraitely stored background processes or icon will not open up again! Only app that does this - dozens of other apps work fine. Told I must pay an additional service for more $ before you will help us. Supervisors cannot tell us what to set in Windows 10 to stop this. All they do is try to sell us System mechanic. Not acceptable - we pay by the month for this icon & full support as you gave us no other choice in Windows 10! Please resolve asap, Reporting this as many times as your app leaves background processes each time! Thanks for taking my monthly fee & not reaching out to help us. Responded with answers on this feed like browser just does this with no specifics on how to set AOL app or Windows 10 to fix, please continue thread if wish to start with Better Business Bureau or Dept of Consumer Affairs or Class Action suit for stealing our MANDATORY monthly payment forced upon us by AOL to keep using them in Windows 10!!

14. AOL GOLD SUCKS !!!

    I am doing more work than is necessary because you decided that it's better. I hate the fact that when trying to save a picture it automatically goes to download, and then I have to find where I want to put it. Also, when looking for a picture the setting is on video and I want all files, so again, I am doing the work. I sure hope you find a better edition soon....

18. Welcome Screen Problems

    Until a few days ago, when the AOL Welcome screen opens, you could scroll through the articles presented, click on a story you wanted to read. When you were finished reading the story, you clicked to close it and the AOL Welcome screen was still present. Now, when I finish reading a story, click to close it, the AOL Welcome screen disappears, you then have to click on the Welcome box in the upper left hand corned of the screen to pull it back up. This is a pain, as you now have to scroll through all of the articles presented beginning with story 1 after you've already scrolled through maybe 40 articles before deciding to read one. Having to do this is a real waste of time, and like I stated earlier, a real pain. This isn't the only problem with my AOL Gold that haven't been resolved after numerous attempts by tech support. I've been with AOL for a long time, and frankly, I'm beginning to think about dropping it and going to another platform. Believe AOL has gone downhill, especially after their introduction of AOL Gold. Not being a computer guru, I hope I've presented what I consider a problem people understand?

20. After 18 loyal years I am considering canceling AOL because of AOL Gold unfixed problems

    Email blocking doesn't work, one can't add a work to the dictionary on AOL Email and so many other things.....
