Fix AOL Gold Email Folders
Email will sometimes disappear when I double click to open an email in a folder. I have checked for them in the Inbox, New, Old and deleted email and they are nowhere to be found. Very frustrating.
Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu. If you still encounter issues call at 1-888-265-3733.

Blind copy addressees no longer showing
As of last week I can no longer see the email addresses of people I sent mail to in BLIND COPY (BCC). Why was this removed?
In order to see the full list of recipients, go to the Sent folder and open the message, then expand the email header by clicking on the arrow below the subject line.

Try to clear the footprints. Here’s how:
a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.
Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.If you still encounter issues call at 1-888-265-3733.

PLS don't show an aol.com address for ALL addresses, many of whom are NOT on aol! this end up sending msg to bad address and has to be resen
PLS don't automatically add an aol.com address to emails to be sent.
many are not on aol, and this causes mail to be sent to wrong address and returned!!! this only began recently!!!When typing an email address in the recipient box (To, Cc or Bcc) make sure the address is complete, including @DomainExample.com . In case the domain name is not included in the email address, the username will be treated as an AOL account and @aol.com will automatically be added at the end.

Download All not working
When you have an incoming mail with attachments, say 6 or 8, you cannot select 'Download All' and make anything happen. All it does is load all the (images in this case) into the body of the email... You have to go to each file separately in order for you to download them -- why can't this work like the old AOL????
The Download All option will work only if there are files attached to the email. In case you have pictures embedded in the email body you will have to save them one by one.

Stop using scripts to cure issues. Instead of saying that they are speaking to a tech, why not elevate the call to someone more qualified?
Allow calls to be elevated to more qualified techs. Seems you cannot get past the person answers the call and depends on a script to resolve the issue. These 3-4 hour phone calls are ridiculous.

It is possible that you have clicked on the close button for the Mailbox, after reading your email. Please follow the steps from the article below, in order to resize the email and mailbox windows, to avoid this from happening again.

You may want to try changing your Display Name. Go to https://help.aol.com/articles/aol-mail-mail-settings and expand Display and Sound Settings | How do I change my Display Name?
If you’re using your email on different platforms (such as a smartphone, tablet, or Outlook) please check your settings on any email program to make sure that you haven’t changed your display name associated with it.

Regarding your experience with the Address Book groups, this is caused by the auto-add contacts feature. If the groups contain email addresses that are not in your Address Book (individual contacts) they will be automatically added, after sending an email to the group. Also removing the individual contact from the Address Book, will also delete it from the group.
In order to avoid auto-adding contacts to the address book, please follow these steps to disable the auto-add feature:
1. Click Edit on the top left.
2. Select Mail… -
What is wrong with Sign On and Welcome Screen?

So if I delete a screen name I can't replace it with another without
making a whole new account? And another $3.99 a month. Do I
understand that right?In the past, AOL offered the ability to create secondary usernames linked to this Master username, however, as of November 30, 2017, the ability to add or manage additional usernames has been removed.
Any new usernames will be created as separate accounts and will not linked to your existing AOL account.

This has happened several times lately. This evening I was doing the quiz on 60s TV shows. After about 40 questions, AOL shut down. Of course, the data was lost without giving me a score. It probably had another t0 to go. AOL is no longer user friendly.

AOL Gold on Windows 10 will not stop running multiple background processes for the last 4 months. Gold & W 10 all up to date. No new antivirus installed - always same Norton for years. You will see multiple CefSharp processes (along with the regular AOL Desktop Gold and Tray app processes) in your Task Manager in case you have several windows opened inside the AOL Desktop Gold (mailbox, email or browser), just like you would when having multiple tabs opened in external browses (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer).

After significant analysis, I was informed that it is no longer on your server. Apparently there are many problems due to the recent migration. Losing my address book will severely affect my business. I have lost total confidence in AOL with this issue and will move to another email company after 15 years as a customer. Please go to mail.aol.com and and sign in (preferably from an external browser), then click on Contacts on the left side, and check if your contacts are present. AOL Shuts Down
AOL for some reason disconnects from internet and you have to reload it this happens on more than one PC so it's not the PC so when you are on a site and it shuts down and you have to bring AOL back up it sucks.Now that we are paying for this service it should be better than this.

Chat room on GOLD
I am not able to use the ENTER button to send message in chat room. I have to hit the SEND button in the chat room for my message to appear. It would be better to able to hit the ENTER button. I was able to use the ENTER button before the last update.
In order to use the Enter key to send messages in Chatrooms, please follow these steps:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and sign in.
2. Click Edit on the top left and select General Settings from the drop-down.
3. Click Chat Rooms on the left side of the Settings window.
4. Check “Use Enter key to send message”.
5. Close the Settings window, and the change will be automatically saved.
