lost ALL my favorite and toolbar saved places! I have been on the phone with 3 AOL techs for a total of more than 5 hours! not fixed yet.
to solve problems, maybe I need to change to Outlook and/ Google.
after 25 years of aggravation, and better service doesn't seem to be in sight.The techs are O.K. but the people who do the technical programming of obviously not competent--or maybe management is not competent. Either way the problem is TOO BIG AND TOO MUCH. -
A solution to the lastest version of aol desktop gold
I don't think that the problem has been fixed, but my solution for everyone is once you have aol desktop gold open and running, wait it out a good ten minutes. I did this and no problems at all what so ever.
It seems that if you interupt aol desktop gold before it's fully done, it'll crash on you.

What is the idea behind the black bar with day, date and time that appears over the writing on anything I want to open and can't be removed? Plain stupid.

Update for the latest version of aol desktop gold
It seems that aol desktop gold is working better than before. It now only crashes once vs twice and doesn't take up as much ram as before. Keep working on the issues.

You have ruined AOL with a very lousy email restructure. Where is my email Verizon????
"New" AOL mail pages are garbage. I live in the busy physical REAL WORLD and don't have time. Be smart and bring back "old" email for those of us who still live in the physical world. Just plain stupid.

Improve Sounds!
I am the one with the file of short, non-offensive wavs. I never heard from anyone about sending them to you and am not sure the best way to send them. PLEASE consider let me send them so you can consider them. I am 62 years old, not 15. The current sounds are not for my generation. PLEASE at least consider my plea. Why Doesn't AOL have available Read Receipts for emails we send??? I HAVE BEEN AN AOL CUSTOMER FOR 24 YEARS NOW!!!!!!!!!! People make fun of me that I still keep it! But it would mean that I change EVERY account I have linked to this email address, etc and it is a huge hassle to do so. PLEASE ENABLE THIS FEATURE!!!!!!!! IT WOULD GAIN AOL NEW CUSTOMERS.

Just recently
Recently when I delete the messages in my SPAM Folder, they reappear in my RECENTLY DELETED MAIL Folder, so I have to delete them a second time. Please figure out why this is happening because it is annoying. I explained this to AOL Tech Support who took control of my computer but it continues to happen. Thank you. .

latest version of aol desktop gold
Latest version of aol desktop gold seems to have aol work worst than in the past. Here is what I have noticed when using aol desktop gold running on an amd phenom ll dual core cpu.
1) when signing into aol desktop gold, the software crashes twice in a row. Have to end aol with the task manager
2) aol mail seems to be off by not displaying today's email, instead the email goes back a week.
3) aol seems to take up more ram then it did. The amount now is around 400 to 700 mb of ramOnce…

Why are the images now a "preview"? Now you have to down load them!
Why didn't you leave the embedded images alone? Now they show as a preview (that I can't even see on my cell phone) and I have to download everything to see what it is! GO BACK TO EMBEDDED IMAGES!

Can Music to an AOL email or AOL mail attachment that play when it is open by recipient
To me, I think we need a way to Add Background Songs or music to email to play when the recipient opens his or her AOL email attachment note or letter. If it can be done AOL--Gold help desk live support just said cannot be done. I do not know how or if it can be done. But sure is a great idea. Thank you.

why is AOL browser not approved for some banking sites
AOL is not an accepted browser platform for some banking sites, why not? I have accessed the help icon and sent in several bug queries but no one seems to either care enough to respond or ????

Don't like the new format for comments. It's too hard to find what I've previously posted and any replies to any of my posts. Go back to the old way. What do we have here - a new person in charge who wants it his/her way instead of the best way?

Did you reduce your storage space in your update. I can't switch between New and old and sent mail.
Tech support cannot fix this. It appears you reduced your storage and speed. It's a disaster for me using AOL Gold
