Since updating to the latest version, I do NOT like having to grant you access to make changes to my computer every time I log on and off!!!
This feature was not in the previous version of AOL. Take it out of the latest version.
Right-Click on the AOL Desktop Gold shortcut, and select Properties, and from the Compatibility tab uncheck “Run this program as an administrator”.

Thought that paying for AOL would give me a better product and, instead, it is horrible.
Really don't have any ideas - just complaints. You're supposed to be the experts so you should have many ideas on how to improve the new AOL Gold. Blows my mind that you would start charging customers a monthly fee and not provide a free service as an option and then make such an inferior product the only choice if one wants to stay with AOL. I really want my old AOL product back which was so far superior to this Gold, Because that isn't possible, I may just have to discontinue my AOL service, which I used since the…

When I compose an e-mail, I cannot indent the first line of paragaphs using the Tab key. When I try to indent, the cursor disappears!
Allow the tab key to indent at the start of a paragraph
Please check if you have the option enabled. Click on Mail option > Mail Settings > select the General tab > check the option “Use tab key to indent when writing an email”
Changes are saved automatically.

Please go to calendar.aol.com and add it to the toolbar by clicking on the hear-shaped icon and selecting “Add to Toolbar” from the pop-up menu.

No way to cancel an email upload. A totally new problem
I am attempting to send files to my boss, I have multiple emails to send. I was in the process of sending one and decided I'd put the rest in my 'waiting to be sent' folder and each time I tried the mail started sending instead of going into the folder. Which resulted in 2 emails trying to be sent at the same time. There is NO cancel upload button anymore which resulted in both emails being sent at the same time. And with no way to cancel the second email from going, I ended up with Err35 message twice.…
Thank you for reaching out to us, we will send this to our Product Engineers and they will look into this to see if they can have it fixed in a future update or release of the software.
Once you click on “Send Now” after composing the email, there is no way to cancel the action. If you want to save your email and send it later, you can click on “Send Later” and retrieve the email from the Drafts folder.

Please set a default email signature in AOL Desktop Gold:
1. Click the Mail menu at the top of the window.
2. Click Set Mail Signatures.
3. Select the signature you want to set as the default signature.
4. Click Default On/Off. A blue check mark appears next to the signature name.If you still encounter issues please call the AOL Desktop Gold team at 1-888-265-3733 in order to have one of our Technical Support agents further investigate this.

Try to clear the footprints and try again.
Here’s how:
a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.If the issue persists call at 1-888-265-3733.

'Screenshot' does not work on AOL Gold. It DOES work on Int. Explorer,Firefox,AOL Shield.
I am running Windows 10 64-bit, and AOL Gold 11.0.1732. Pressing the "Print Screen" function key does NOT result in a screen image being copied to the Clipboard. Hope you can get it fixed. Thank you. Dan D. in NJ
Go to Settings > Premium Security > Uncheck “Enable Screen Capture Protection”.

When I highlight an email and click on delete, many times not only does the highlighted email get deleted, the un-highlighted one immediately also gets deleted. When do you think you will have this problem fixed? Please send me your email reply to my question.
Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting “ About AOL“ from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.
If the version is lower than 11.0.1703, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload. If the issue persists after updating the AOL Desktop, please let us know.

transsmit pictures in an email!!!
It is not possible to transmit a picture in the body of an email
it can only be sent in an attachment which is unsatisfactory as many people wlil not open attachments my business depends on the ability to transfer picturesTo embed pictures in mail, first open a Write mail window, then click on the “Picture” button below the subject box, and select the picture you want to insert in the email.

Wasn't certain where to list this question, but is this charge (see above subject matter) connected to AOL? I never authorized this charge to my knowledge. I keep getting an Ecode 14 message when I try to run a news video.
The Ecode 14 message is: Network error, Sorry, a network error caused the video download to fail. Please refresh and try again.
I'm getting tired of not being able to watch a news video. I didn't have this problem in 9.8.2. Why can't you go back to what you had that worked?Restarting your computer, modem and any home networking equipment, will help your computer get a better connection.
Follow the steps below:
1. Shut down your computer.
2. Unplug the power cord from your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem, and router (if you have one). 3. Wait 30 seconds.
4. If you use an external modem, plug the power cord into your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem.
5. If you have a router, plug the power cord into your router.
6. Turn on your computer. -

My profile and settings are greyed out for comments to news articles
I can not enter my email or name in either the profile or settings to comment on news articles and get responses.
Please try to clear the Browser Footprints.
Here’s how:

I put "spam settings" in Favorites and when I click on it all I can get is your news page. It supercedes you spam page adress somehow.

You have to access Spam Controls. Go to Mail from top bar and click on Block Unwanted Mail.

Auto added email addresses
How can we prevent companies/people you DO NOT want their email from auto adding email address to your list.
Go to Edit – Mail Settings – Advanced – and uncheck “Auto add contacts to my Address Book when I send them mail” (changes are saved automatically).
