DNS errors
This week I am constantly getting a DNS error when I sign on. When AOL seems otherwise to be working properly, I'll try to open up my email and constantly get the dreaded DNS error. Not only does it appear, but you can delete it! Every type you try type something, it shows up again. I've been dealing with this for a week, and it's time for this to end! Thank you!
Restarting your computer, modem and any home networking equipment, will help your computer get a better connection. Follow the steps below: 1. Shut down your computer. 2. Unplug the power cord from your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem, and router (if you have one). 3. Wait 30 seconds. 4. If you use an external modem, plug the power cord into your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem. 5. If you have a router, plug the power cord into your router. 6. Turn on your computer.

March Update #4 -Version 11.0.1713 : Your "Hot New!" shortcuts do not work!
HOT New! - keyboard shortcuts to get focus in toolbar (ctrl L for URL, ctrl J for read mail icon).......................NONE OF THIS WORKS either for me or for my friend on her computer. I have cleared my browser. I have signed off and on twice. IT DOES NOT WORK!
Control J only highlights the mailbox. It does not open it.
Control L does nothing.Do you test before you put things out?
The CTRL+J key combination, will highlight the Read mail icon (not open it). Once the icon is highlighted you can use the left and right arrows on the keyboard to select the other icons in the toolbar and press ENTER to open any one of them. CTRL+L will move the focus to the address box, so after pressing this key combination you can start typing a URL, then press enter to open it.

Since the last update I can no longer bring up the Stop $ Shop weekly circular
Since your last update I can noi longer bring up the Stop&Shop weekly circular. The URL opens to a dead Stop&Shop page with no access to the circular. I cleared my browser and signed off and on again. My neighbor is having the same problem on her computer. I called Stop&Shop. There is no problem at their end.

Hi there, we just released an update that will fix this issue. Please open your AOL Desktop Gold and sign in, then click on Help and select Check for Updates. Wait 5-10 minutes, then close and re-open AOL Desktop Gold.
To make sure the update was installed, go to Help – “About AOL” and make sure you have the 11.0.1732 revision.

Keep getting the following message. Can get into mail but nothing else. What's the deal???? Called and was on the phone for an hour and a half and told someone would contact me in 48 hours.....no call. I'm cancelling AOL if this is not resolved in the next 2 days. Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into this issue. To do that, follow these steps:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.

When is a really, really all inclusive update going to be made available?
I feel like I'm paying for something that isn't worth the money, maybe a rebate should be provided by AOL?

DO a better job with AOL GOLD
I already have and paying for AOL GOLD.Now I get a email saying if I do not sign up for it you will cancel my existing account{AOL GOLD].How can I sign up for something I already have?.I called the service number and as helpful as the man who could hardly speak English said he could not help me and to send you an email with my problem. If you received a Final Notice email to upgrade to AOL Desktop Gold, it means that you tried to sign into (probably inadvertently) the old AOL Desktop in the past few weeks. Since you already have the AOL Desktop Gold installed on your computer, you can ignore the Final Notice email.

Please get your IT guys going. I changed credit cards. AOL was on top of the change to get my money ASAP. Since the inception of GOLD change is coming too slow!!!!!
To insert a webpage in an email, please follow these steps:
1. Open your favorite website in the AOL Desktop browser.
2. In the top right corner of the webpage, right-click on the “Heart”
shaped icon then select Insert in Mail from the drop-down menu.Please try setting AOL Gold as default mail client:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Log in using your username and password.
3. Click on the Settings icon.
4. On the General tab click on the Make Default buttons to make AOL Desktop your default browser and/or email client.

All contacts in my mailbox are getting e-mails from me with something from DROPBOX. My IT tech says AOL was hacked. Please advise.
All contacts in my mailbox are getting e-mails from me with something from DROPBOX. I never sent them out. AOL tech checked my computer and said it wasn't compromised . My IT tech says AOL was hacked, because he is getting calls from his clients who use AOL. The same thing is happening to their address books. Please advise.

1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and Sign on.
2. Click on “Mail” on the top left and select “Block Unwanted Mail” from the drop-down menu to open the Spam Controls.
3. Make sure your Sender Filter is set to “Allow mail from all senders”.
4. Check the Content Filter, and make sure it is not blocking common words and phrases.
5. Click Save Settings.

You can change the tex t& background color in write mail window by clicking the arrow next to the underlined A on the Write mail toolbar.

9.8.2 had dozens and dozens and dozens of different FONTS. GOLD has only 10 or 12. This is unacceptable. I lost my flair to writing an entertaining letter. My visual letters alone was a gift to my reader. My letters are now BLAND. BRING THAT BACK
What should "Mail waiting to be sent' DO??. I think as in 9.8.2 if one decides to hold back an uncompleted letter and saves it in MWTBSent. One should be able to go to that letter and continue to make changes on it. NO WAY!!! That letter is frozen and can no longer be…
The Desktop Team is planning on adding a larger variety of mail fonts in a future update.
AOL Desktop Gold has a new way of spell checking your emails. This is done automatically, in real time, as you compose your messages.
When the AOL Desktop Gold detects a spelling error, the word is highlighted by a red line under it. (Click the link below to see an image for an example)
To correct the spelling error, right-click the word and select one of the options provided. (Click the link below to see an image for an example)

Emails with embedded pictures
When I receive an email with an embedded picture it is so BIG that I must scroll back and forth and up and down to see it. Why doesn't it fit my screen like the text does?
When I send an email with an embedded picture AOL software garbles it and some weird link appears at the recipients screen.
FIX IT!Once you received an email with an embedded picture right click on it and select “Resize Image” and then decrease its size.
