  1. Where do I begin??? So much is inferior compared to the previous versions!!!

    1.Compose OFF-LINE and place in mail-waiting-to-be-sent
    2.Attach multiple photos to an e-mail instead of one at a time
    3.Copy and paste WORD docs into an e-mail exactly as they appear in WORD. Now the doc has to be almost entirely corrected and re-formatted in the e-mail. WHY???
    4.Need the entire list of screen names with # of e-mails in each
    5.INBOX tab is superfluous and unnecessary. Get rid of it
    6.E-mail fonts are limited and restrictive. Return all of the previous version options
    7.Restore stationery option with postcard and background art choices

Currently, we don’t have an estimated time frame, but we hope the majority of the features our members are asking for will be implemented soon.

    Find in Top Window is designed to work only when having a web-page or email opened on the screen. The Find in Top Window option will be grayed out when no web-page or email is opened on the screen (it will not work in the mailbox window).

  3. Another problem - there is no Enlarge feature under the Edit section - where did it go?

    The old 9.8 and earlier versions had an Edit button that made it easy to navigate. Now we have a bunch of symbols, and there's nothing that I find to enlarge the item chosen. No symbol works to enlarge something! Make things user friendly and easy to navigate again. I've been on AOL for 21 years and was used to things being the same from version to version, and now you had to make them difficult and complex.

    The enlarge option under “Edit” menu is called “Zoom”. You can enlarge the font on any webpage you have opened.

  4. The "Read" mailbox icon or the "New" tab doesn't refresh the view.

    Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.

    We tried your experience on our side and we are unable to replicate it. Please clear your footprints and re-open the welcome screen.

    Here’s how to manually clear the Browser Footprints:
    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.
    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    Afterwards, please check if the correct email address appears in the comment section.

    Right-click on the email address from the CC or BCC field, select Copy, then right-click inside the TO field and select Paste.

    Find in Top Window is designed to work only when having a web-page or email opened on the screen. The Find in Top Window option will be grayed out when no web-page or email is opened on the screen (it will not work in the mailbox window).

    To resolve the slowness and performance issues, please try the troubleshooting solutions below:

    1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    You can manage your AOL pop-ups by going to the Edit tab, then to Browser Settings and from here to Pop-ups. By checking the radio buttons you can manage your preferences, you don’t need to save your settings, this is done automatically.

    Please report the freezing problem to our AOL Desktop Gold team so they can investigate it further:

    1. Click the Help button on the top-right corner of the AOL Desktop window
    2. Select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu

    If the problem persists, please call 1-888-265-3733 to have one of our Technical Support Agents investigate the cause of this issue.

  10. In addition to agreeing with virtually all comments that I saw for improvement please see the following comments.

    There are too many key strokes required on a number of items: 1. The old system allowed the e-mail list to open automatically on sigh on so no strokes were required. 2. The "folders" window opens automatically when the mail window is open. I do not want to see the folders window unless I activate it myself as I used to be able to do. 3. when saving an e-mail there are two boxes that must be closed upon completion.   11. Once I upgraded to the GOLD, I can not manage my AOL account. It's been this way for the two weeks I've had AOL Gold

    After 23 years as a paid user of AOL, I find your 24/7 support had done more harm that good. Perhaps if they spoke better English. I've been paying $12.00 a month for over 20 years now. I believe it's time to part ways.

    Mark Joseph in Manila has been extraordinarily helpful. I have subscribed and paid AOL as an attorney licensed in TN for 21 years and have saved many law files. I am now retiring from legal practice in TN which does not permit me to advertise as an active lawyer with the AOL address for 21 years: t**@aol.com. AOL adopted policy of NOT permitting me to transfer my legal files saved under tfjlaw to my new screen name, t@aol.com.     Please refresh the mailbox after you move the email. To do that, follow the steps below:

    1. Go to Mail on the top bar

    2. Click on Refresh Mailbox.

  15. Why does "Keyword" respond in the same way as a regular search? It used to mean keywords within the AOL program and was helpful:o(

    I'm among your longest users. Why does "Keyword" respond in the same way as a regular search now, suggesting other, unrelated sites? Duplicative! It used to mean keywords within the AOL program and was helpful with how to do a task in AOL. And the changes to "Help" rendered it unhelpful. Not happy. I've loved AOL for 20 years, but since Gold I'm using Explorer and Chrome more and more. Not happy:o(

    When being redirected from the AOL Keywords box to a search results page, it means that the Keyword you were looking for does not exist. By going to the Keyword: Settings, you can open the General Settings screen from where you can make all the changes within the AOL Desktop Gold. Also by clicking on the Settings A-Z link on the top of the General Settings window, you can access additional options for account management and marketing preferences.

    We are unable to replicate this issue.

    Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting “About AOL” from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.

    If the version is lower than 11.0.1579, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload. If the issue persists after updating the AOL Desktop, please let call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  18. Cant change font color in email

    If I forward an email from one screen name to another and want to change the font color, for example, from pink to black, I'm unable to do that. I click on the icon for font color and nothing happens. Just another aggravation brought to yours truly by aol. You reinvented the wheel and forgot to air up the tires. This version is going nowhere.

    We cannot replicate this. Clear the footprints and try again. To do that follow the steps below:

    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    After that select the text you want to make changes to and click on the font icon.

  19. Bring back the old AOL Desktop 9.8

    How can I write, when my cursor jumps all over the page when I'm typing, deletes sentences and moves to another paragraph. I HATE AOL Desktop Gold. Want to cancel my month's free trial. It's terrible. Never have I hated AOL as much as I do now. I tried typing a suggestion, but it never let me finish before my cursor started jumping all over the place. Too many ads now too. I just literally HATE AOL Desktop Gold. Just writing this, my cursor has went all over the place and deleted stuff, and I've had to start all over.…
