    Please refresh the mailbox after you move the email. To do that, follow the steps below:

    1. Go to Mail on the top bar

    2. Click on Refresh Mailbox.

  2. Why does "Keyword" respond in the same way as a regular search? It used to mean keywords within the AOL program and was helpful:o(

    I'm among your longest users. Why does "Keyword" respond in the same way as a regular search now, suggesting other, unrelated sites? Duplicative! It used to mean keywords within the AOL program and was helpful with how to do a task in AOL. And the changes to "Help" rendered it unhelpful. Not happy. I've loved AOL for 20 years, but since Gold I'm using Explorer and Chrome more and more. Not happy:o(

    When being redirected from the AOL Keywords box to a search results page, it means that the Keyword you were looking for does not exist. By going to the Keyword: Settings, you can open the General Settings screen from where you can make all the changes within the AOL Desktop Gold. Also by clicking on the Settings A-Z link on the top of the General Settings window, you can access additional options for account management and marketing preferences.

  3. I'm thinking there is only ONE story on AOL news now since that's all you can see. The pictures change, but not the story. NOT acceptable.

Bring back the version of AOL that worked....this is not good.

    We are unable to replicate this issue.

    Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting “About AOL” from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.

    If the version is lower than 11.0.1579, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload. If the issue persists after updating the AOL Desktop, please let call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  5. Cant change font color in email

    If I forward an email from one screen name to another and want to change the font color, for example, from pink to black, I'm unable to do that. I click on the icon for font color and nothing happens. Just another aggravation brought to yours truly by aol. You reinvented the wheel and forgot to air up the tires. This version is going nowhere.

    We cannot replicate this. Clear the footprints and try again. To do that follow the steps below:

    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    After that select the text you want to make changes to and click on the font icon.

  6. Bring back the old AOL Desktop 9.8

    How can I write, when my cursor jumps all over the page when I'm typing, deletes sentences and moves to another paragraph. I HATE AOL Desktop Gold. Want to cancel my month's free trial. It's terrible. Never have I hated AOL as much as I do now. I tried typing a suggestion, but it never let me finish before my cursor started jumping all over the place. Too many ads now too. I just literally HATE AOL Desktop Gold. Just writing this, my cursor has went all over the place and deleted stuff, and I've had to start all over.…

    That is not an official email address. If you do not recognize it simply delete it from your address book.

  8. receiving error message on website

    I am getting error message when going on any website saying " we'll be right back, our engineers are working on this website ". error msg on and off and now I am not getting it. Please fix this

    Try clearing the browser footprints:
    a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    In case you still see the error message please call the AOL Desktop Gold team at 1-888-265-3733 in order to have one of our technicians further investigate.

  9. The news page has changed and I cant get the picture and page number in the same frame. Move page number up to be in title of picture

    Gold news has changed layout. Move Page number up to be on line of picture title. With all the borders out, both don't fit on my screen.

    Please expand the welcome page window size by following the steps:

    1. Drag one of the four corners of the mailbox window to your desired size and position.
    2. In the top right corner of the AOL Desktop, click “ Window” then choose “ Save Window Size and Position” from the drop-down menu.

    Clearing footprints might solve this issue.

    Here’s how to clear the Browser Footprints:

    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

  13. Get the darn history working again! It has a time lag and does not update properly. Also the save and save as still not working since day 1

    Get the save and save as working! Get the history working. Old old versions worked better than gold.

    Please follow the steps below to clear the browser footprints, then check if the problem persists:

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and sign in.

    2. Press CTRL+H on your keyboard.

    3. Click on Clear Footprints.

    The Save and Save As options will work only when you have an email opened on the screen, otherwise they will remain grayed out.

    In order to save a picture from the Ancestry.com web-site, click on the photo to expand it (if necessary) then right-click on it and select “Save image as…”. On the Save As window that comes up, select the location where you want to save the photo, and click Save on the bottom.

    To add a photo in the email signature open the picture in a Photo Editor (we recommend Microsoft Paint), and after using the Selection tool to select which part of the photo you want in your signature, copy the selection using the Copy function in your photo editor, or with the CTRL+C keys on your keyboard. After copying the photo selection go to the Set Mail Signatures option in AOL Desktop Gold, and paste the photo in the signature compose window by using the CTRL+V keys on your keyboard.

  16. Give us back the old AOL email program - to many problems with AOL Gold

    1. Give us back the Dictionary button under Edit or Mail tabs. 2. When you hit Send Email (especially with an attachment) its takes for ever to complete. 3. You took away the Back Ground images in Stationary. 4. The fonts in writing a letter are not the same as the fonts in Signatures. 5.Spell Check is checking every single word in the email instead of just high lighting the incorrect spelled works. 6. Favorite Places - let us choose the order we want the Favorites to be instead of your selecting the order you want. 7. The attachment document now…

    AOL Desktop Gold has a new way of spell checking your emails. This is done automatically, in real time, as you compose your messages. When the AOL Desktop Gold detects a spelling error, the word is highlighted by a red line under it.     go back to aol 9.8.2, aol gold is a joke, really it is terrible in the way you set it up. lost a lot of good things from aol 9.8.2. where did you get your techs.
    color chart is wacky and I sure don't like it
    also fonts, I want the aol 9.8.2 fonts back your color chart throw away and bring back aol 9.8.2 color chart.

    also when i copy a page from a web site and the paste it into the "write" section and then compose as plain text it crams it all together with no separation between…

  20. I need to access my e0mail without logging in

    I need to be able to see e-mail stored on my PC without being connected to the internet. Actually, I wonder if Gold is actually storing anything on my PC anymore, as the system uses an awful lot of data just to "view" one e-mail. The slowness of the system opening and the way it "freezes" my whole computer makes me wonder what it's actually doing to my data.

    Unfortunately, the option to see the emails while offline is not available at the moment in the new software, but we are making more features available with every update to the new AOL Desktop. We will make sure that this gets to the appropriate team for review.

    To resolve the issue with slowness, please try the troubleshooting solutions below:

    1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings.
