More complaints about this horrendous Desktop Gold "upgrade".....
Folks, besides the feedback I've already given you on this horrendous Desktop Gold "upgrade", I have more bones to pick with you. Why on earth does mail now have a confusing "inbox" tab that was never there before? You have a "new" tab, an "old" tab, and a "sent" tab. What on earth is the "inbox" tab for? You can see the new, old, and sent mails with the other three tabs. What on earth does the "inbox" tab do that's not already covered by the other three? One more thing - when I leave the computer and come back, the number shown on the little mailbox on the top (telling me how many new emails I have waiting) is always what was there before. It's only when you click on it, or manipulate the mails (by clicking on one, moving the cursor, etc.), that changes that number to the accurate new email count. That was never an issue in 9.8.2....So what genius thought this delayed posting of the accurate new email count was a good idea?
One more thing. After my last note on this site, filled with the numerous horrendous problems with this shameful "upgrade", you gave me an answer which was condescending and obnoxious. When I complained about how the Desktop Gold has delays on responding to everything you click on (pictures, hot links, etc.), you answered me with directions how to clean out the clutter in my computer - completely ignoring the fact that I also said that these delays are solely on AOL and never on any other program! What the heck does "clutter" which doesn't effect the speed of any other program have to do with it? It was a nonsensical and obnoxious answer....and you know it! By the way, cleaning out the supposed "clutter" did nothing whatsoever to speed up this horrendous "upgrade" as I, and you, already really knew.....
Folks, you can see from my previous comments, as well as so many others on this page, that this Desktop Gold is a disaster. The fact that your people have many times told me, on the phone, that it is a "work in progress" is the most insulting thing of all. You FORCE us to accept an "upgrade" to Desktop Gold - yet say it's a "work in progress"? How insulting is that? If you were responsible people, you would withdraw this horrendous "upgrade" until you've worked all the glitches out. The fact that you foisted this disaster on us when you had not yet taken the time to complete the work it needs, shows the disdain you have for your millions of members. Absolutely disgusting!
If you folks don't plan on withdrawing this abysmal "upgrade", the least you owe your loyal subscribers is to allow us to switch back to 9.8.2 until you've fixed the myriad of problems with this ****** "upgrade". Accepting an upgrade is something you've never FORCED us to do before, and sure as **** should not be the case now, especially in light of the disastrous performance, with all its failures and glitches, of Desktop Gold. So why not let us make that choice, as you've always done before? Maybe it's because you already knew how bad this "upgrade" was after it was too late to stop it? Like I said - absolutely obnoxious, inconsiderate of your loyal subscribers, and utterly disgusting! Withdraw this failed Desktop Gold "upgrade", or at least have the decency to let us return to the fantastic 9.8.2 until you've fixed, or preferably discarded, this completely failed "upgrade"....
Sorry to hear about your continuous issues with Gold, I’ll pass this over to our engineers.
The Inbox is the main folder where all your emails (read and unread alike) appear. This divides into New and Old folders. In the New folder, you can see only the unread emails as well as those you kept as new. In the Old folder, you will see all read emails. These emails remain in the old folder until you decide to move them to a different folder.
Try refreshing the mailbox after you read or delete an email. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.
