You can bring back our ability to change the sounds!

Add this feature back in a future upgrade if you can't do it any other way. But many of us really enjoy putting new or just favorite sounds to our AOL experience. I realize that much of the changes are to better AOL and I have heard many complaints; this doesn't need to be one of them. It will make the changes a little bit easier for some, especially those who don't like change. This is a minor thing that will make many happy.

The custom greeting sounds are now available with the latest update for the AOL Desktop Gold. To customize your greeting sounds, follow these steps:

1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.
2. Click on the ‘Edit’ menu on the top left.
3. Select ‘General Settings’ from the drop-down menu.
4. Go to the ‘Personalization’ category on the left.
5. Select the ‘Sounds’ tab.

*As an alternative you can go to the Keyword(CTRL+K): sounds.

To choose the sound categories, click on the ‘Options’ button, and after selecting your preferred greetings click on ‘Apply’. You can also preview the sounds before and after applying them, by clicking on the Play button next to the sound name.

If you do not have the custom greeting sounds, it means that you will have to upgrade your AOL Desktop Gold software to the latest revision. To do that, click on the ‘Help’ menu on the top right, and select ‘Check for Updates’ from the drop-down menu. After this leave the software opened for 10-15 minutes, in order for the update to download in the background, then close and re-open the AOL Desktop Gold for the update to be applied.

    i would like to have the voices for you got mail, welcome and goodbye to be implemented on AOL Desktop that i'm using if we could as well add more voices like what i have before that would be great like Barry White and Ray Romano

    Please give us back the ability to change our sound settings. Older versions of AOL allowed you to personalize, and your techs have no idea why that option was removed. Thank you.

    Was told you would bring back celebrity voices deleted with AOL Gold.

    Where did our celebrity voices go? Why not bring back my beloved Hugh Grant and others...
    I'm not thrilled with the new AOL as it is....so lets bring back some of the old features.

    I want Mandy Moore's voice as my playback music when Im opening Aol Desktop Gold . Please put that feature. I've been telling you this for two years now

    Able to change the got mail voice and saying. I was able to do that with the old ver.

    Why did you take away Celebrity Voices? that was fun, charging me for GOLD..really not good, old news and older pictures...sad

    We would like to get the old way, where we can set our name or celebrity voices to our sounds.

    When do we get to use our own sounds again like in AOL 9.8 ? Was promised last year that it would be coming back before the end of last year. .....Looks like another lie Also, hate the alphabetical order you jammed down our throats. Would not recommend AOL to anyone anyone in the future.

    Greetings ,,, I Agree ! Loose the Decades Old Background Sounds ,,, Your Welcome Greetings are Older Than My Kids ! ,,, In AOL Desktop I was Able to Add My Own Sounds to Opening Programs & Windows Like "I've Got Mail" , Notifications , Tasks and The Like ,,,, Bring It Back ! ! ! ------ Or You May Loose an AOL Customer ,,,,
