I need to access my e0mail without logging in
I need to be able to see e-mail stored on my PC without being connected to the internet. Actually, I wonder if Gold is actually storing anything on my PC anymore, as the system uses an awful lot of data just to "view" one e-mail. The slowness of the system opening and the way it "freezes" my whole computer makes me wonder what it's actually doing to my data.
Unfortunately, the option to see the emails while offline is not available at the moment in the new software, but we are making more features available with every update to the new AOL Desktop. We will make sure that this gets to the appropriate team for review.
To resolve the issue with slowness, please try the troubleshooting solutions below:
1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.
2. Restart the computer. This helps clear the internal memory (RAM), which often resolves many issues. This article provides the steps to restart the PC: https://help.aol.com/articles/restart-the-computer
3. Enable only the essential startup programs. Multiple programs may have been set to start automatically when a computer is turned on. These programs may cause the computer to slow down, and affect other running applications. For help with this, please refer to the following help article: https://help.aol.com/articles/enable-only-essential-startup-programs
If you still encounter the freezing issue please report it to our AOL Desktop Gold team so they can investigate it further:
1. Click the Help button on the top-right corner of the AOL Desktop window
2. Select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu
If the problem persists, please call 1-888-265-3733 to have one of our Technical Support Agents investigate the cause of this issue.

I would like to be able to access my PFC and Addressbook when offline.
I would like to to see the complete names of my contacts as I entered them, just like how I had them in AOL Desktop 9.8.2.
I lost the names of my contacts in my Addressbook.
I'm showing a flash of black box and it will disappear right away. -

I want you to go back to allowing a user to view mail stored on their PC without signing in. Please provide a reason as to why this is not possible.

The reason I stayed with AOL Desktop all these years is because my data (address book, saved e-mails) we on my own computer's hard drive. I could run AOL Desktop 9.8.2. and read any e-mails that were saved to my hard drive, both sent and received e-mails. I could also open the address book and prepare one or several e-mails, then sign on and send them all. I have internet access through cell phone towers since cable is not available here. My connection plan has a limited amount of data, and at times the connection gets dropped. So having to be connected to prepare e-mails, or read saved e-mails is a real pain. I would request that I be able to access the data that is on my hard drive in the manner AOL Desktop 9.8.2. did - without needing an internet connection.
