AOL GOLD JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE
I just spent an hour and forty five minutes trying to answer ONE e-mail.
Mostly this software just runs endlessly and the screen locks up, making it completely USELESS. Nothing like going backwards.....I almost think that dial up was faster than this monstrosity. Trying to refrain from belligerence....20 years with AOL for this????? Depressing...
This issue is fixed in the latest revision. Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting “ About AOL“ from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.
If the version is lower than 11.0.1630, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload. If the issue persists after updating the AOL Desktop, please let us know.

I am seriously considering dropping AOL after being loyal for over 25 years! Help us who cannot afford to upgrade with and new fast computer every year! Slugging along really sucks! Slow mail, slow delete!

On AOL 9.8.2 when opening each news item "page" it ALWAYS worked smoothly and quickly. NOW with AOL GOLD: it is as though the pages stick, nothing works smoothly and easily except once in a while. What is the problem with AOL Gold news pages, why can't you all have them open as smoothly and quickly as in the 9.8.2 edition?????

Go back to the system that worked. Don't charge $4.99 and display your ads. AOL sucks.

I have had an AOL desk top account for 22 years and this AOL gold program is near worthless. Slow, inefficient and creates conflicts with other programs. Email takes forever to load. This is the worst software you guys have every developed. Please, please, please bring back 9.8 cause its fast and reliable. Extremely disappointed in AOL Gold.

People keep asking me why do I still use AOL? The experiences I am having with AOL Gold, I am asking myself the same thing.

You are continually trying to sell me other services when I can't even get your main product, AOL Gold, to work without locking up my system. Since you rolled that product out last Fall, I have called countless times trying to get this to work without locking up. I have done, and had your technical department do numerous changes to correct this problem, but to no avail. I even keep my Task Manager up to quickly end AOL Gold and constantly getting to my AOL Mail via Google or Edge. At point AOL is a waste of money and I will be transitioning from it. I have been keeping it for convenience, but I am ready to drop your service.

The non-responding & loading of emails constantly is making me think after having been with AOL since mid 1980's if I need to switch

My task Manager tells me that AOL is not responding. It is a chronic issue.
What is the issue, and how do I fix it.

I have used AOL exclusively since the 90's and never had any issues. This is the WORST "upgrade" ever! It is incredibly slow, freezes up constantly (I am so tired of seeing AOL not responding) and lost all my bookmarks when it automatically upgraded (without giving me any warning) I mostly use my phone now since I don't have to deal with your "improvements". Doubt complaining does any good, since I tried before and got no response.

Slow, slow, slow. I often have to use task manager just to get out of it. Please, fix whatever is wrong with this. It seems I am paying more money and getting less service.

From one day to another I have problems with Gold. Many times I can't pull up my mail. Sometimes I sign in and can't open any site. It is horrible. I'm just about convinced to leave AOL, particularly since I pay for this horrible service.

THE EMOTICONS ARE AWFUL, THE COLORFUL ONES WERE MUCH BETTER. THE AOL GOLD ONES ARE TOO TINY. CUT AND PASTE DOESN'T WORK WELL EITHER. REPLYING TO EMAILS IS DIFFICULT. THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES THAT I CAN LIST. I'D LIKE TO GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION I WAS USING. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH AOL OVER THE YEARS THAT I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER. DOESN'T LET ME DELETE THINGS. THEN IT DELETES AUTOMATICALLY WHEN I DON'T WANT IT TO. NON RESPONSIVE MANY TIMES, EVERYTHING GOES GRAY!

This complaint about the slowness and locking up has been a consistent gripe from AOL Desktop Gold users since the program was introduced last year. Perhaps a return to the drawing board and maybe even a reversion to Internet Explorer as the underpinnings for the Desktop program would be in order. Seems that even since AOL switch to Google Chrome a couple of years ago, the program performance has been degrading. Rather than adding all sorts of "new features" you should remove stuff and speed the program interaction up that way and probably fix a number of bus by doing so.

Solve the problems detailed in Case # 04209288 ... The fact that these problems have not been solved is UNACCEPTABLE! I depend on AOL to run my business and I NEVER had these issues with the old AOL ... Please do not tell me that I have to delete emails in my inbox ... I need them for reference. Again, this was never an issue with the old AOL.

Remove the ads. Remove the Welcome Screen. The email client takes a long time to load and then locks up or becomes non-responsive when moving from email to email trying to read the new emails. No provision has been made for transferring emails saved on my PC using AOL Desktop Gold from one computer to another or for uninstalling and reinstalling the AOL Desktop Gold application since the hooks in the earlier installation for the email database stored on your computer seems to vanish when the application is uninstalled. The original AOL Desktop program allowed your users to copy the entire "Organize" folder from one computer to another and all the saved email messages on your computer immediately appeared in the AOL Desktop program the next time AOL Desktop was open. The new AOL Desktop GOLD is a piece of sluggish garbage. Small wonder people are abandoning it in droves. Even worse, AOL is now charging $5+ per month for this hunk of junk. I have been a customer for more than 25 years. I deserve better than this piece of ****!
