If I write about a purchase I GET SPAM EMAIL about it. Cut it out.
stop reading my emails and then sending spam offers about the purchasing discussion within MY EMAILS.
To permanently block these emails, you will need to adjust you Spam Controls by following the steps below:
1. Open your Mailbox, and click on “Spam Controls” on the bottom right (below the Report Spam button).
2. Add the email address from which you are receiving these unwanted emails in the box below the “Block mail from addresses I specify” field.
3. Set the Blocked Mail option to “Permanently Delete Blocked Mail”
4. Click “Save” at the bottom.
Please note that by settings the Permanently Delete Blocked Mail option, the emails Identified as unwanted based on your Sender Filter (Block mail from addresses I specify) and Content Filter will be permanently blocked (will not go to the Spam folder), and returned to the sender as undeliverable. Before setting this option, please review the list of blocked email addresses in your Sender Filter and the list of blocked words and phrases from the Content Filter (make sure it does not contain any commonly used words).

I think Aol better start taking care of the customer and fix the problems with it. I do not use Aol Desktop Gold for my default browser .

I am sick of getting so much junk mail. All of a sudden I am getting spammed to death by obscene places and people wanting to sell me junk remedies. I used to just highlight the offender and right click and bring up block. It is gone and I am tired of getting junk mail. Somehow I suspect this is a ploy to get us to sign up for your new security suite for an additional fee. We want to block spam and keep it blocked.

Spam emails coming from addresses with nonsense mixtures of letters and numbers are coming through instead of going to spam. Since they are different scrambled letters and numbers each time there is no way to block them and experience shows opening them to unsubscribe is useless and only confirms the recipient email is active. Plus there's a danger of viruses or hacking. This rarely happened with previous versions of AOL. Why am I paying for a service that only gets worse with each update? On top of that read every other complaint posted from the welcome screen disappearing to articles that don't open to pop ups that hide the articles that do open. I deal with an organization with almost 1000 members and I understand why a very small fraction - very very small - have AOL email. I've been using AOL for at least 20 years and with all the problems that keep growing I don't think I can justify staying.

You need to be much more proactive in stopping all this SPAM. When we mark as spam, that should stop future emails, it isn't.

In all the years I've been on AOL this never happened. I used to get 2 or 3 spam mails in my spam folder. Why has this increased by so many? This also applies to my other 2 screen names which I hardly ever use. Is this what you meant by better security??

Delete Gold and go back to 9.8.2. After 19 years, AOL GOLD has opened a door. No security and to many bugs in the program.

It lands up in new mail instead. This is insane!

I have been a customer for almost 25 years. Spam has gotten out of control. The senders names are completely unrecognizable names as they spell nothing. Feel free to check my deleted mail!!! It seems almost 10 an hour now. Please somehow find a way to block these types of spam!!

Since your last download of yesterday I am getting a large amount of spam that is going into my inbox instead of the spam folder. This has never happened before your download of Revision 11.0.1761.

Why am I getting spam in my email box? AOL used to abide by my blocked list and that was transferred from the old program. But now spam gets through those blocks and appears in my email box. I agree with everyone else; this new AOL is the pits. It doesn't work real well and none of my preferences mean anything. Then, to give feedback, you have to post to a public blog...that doesn't fix anything. I'm still also waiting for a way to compose an email off-line like I used to be able to do, among other things. And, the ads in the new version come through well; my emails do not. Why do I want to read the ads (I don't) instead of my emails. And, there are plenty of times that I cannot even send a message; I get a message to "try in 5 minutes". Why? I want that email sent immediately.

I'm getting copious amounts of spam in my inbox. Random letters and numbers for senders names. Can't
you fix that. I see by the comments I'm not the only one.
