When I want to check the STATUS of an email I've sent, I get an error message saying"Currently Unavaiuilable". WHY?

    It would be helpful to see if a message I sent had been read by the recipient. (Or possibly be able to send it "return receipt requested." )

    how do i tell if a email i sent has been read by the person i sent it to???? I used to be able to tell????????????

    Prior to the Gold version we had the ability of "Unsend" an email in case its mailed to wrong person or changing mind..... Also we could check to see if an email had been read..... You stopped these....Do you think you could bring them back?? thanks

    Why not return the "email status" button as a paid option, the way you have started "search and recover" for old files and emails as a paid option? It's very inconvenient and frustrating not to know if your email has been received and read. Most of us would be glad to pay a fee to have it back.

    This function or button was remove, why? Now can't see if aol member read, or not read yet, even if it was delete my email. This is terrible, I fill like I'm blind with out the button option "Check Mail" It was very useful for me, for to many year send bulk emails with permission of AOL. My email is been good and fun for AOL members, my poems in web pages with background music.

    Pleas give us back this feature :(

    I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT IF ONE PERSON HAS BEEN GETTING AND RECEIVING MY EMAIL SINCE LAST FALL...IT IS CRITICAL IN OUR COMMUNICATIONS, WHICH I CAN'T DISCUSS,
    I WANT TO KNOW WHO IS THE IDIOT THAT DECIDED TO ELIMINATE USERS FROM BEING ABLE TO CHECK TO SEE SHEN AN EMAIL GOT READ....I CAN'T HURT ANYTHING AND IN MY CASE IT IS VERY CRITICAL IN MY COMMUNICATIONS WITH THIS PERSON....
    I WAS TOLD THERE IS WAY ON THIS HELP PAGE TO ACTIVATE IT, BUT I AM 74 AND A COMPUTER DUMMY AND HAVE NOT FIGURED IT OUT.....
    PLEASE HELP ME AS THE IS EXTREMELY CRITICAL TO MY CORRESPONDENCE WITH ONE PERSON.....

    I used to have the option to check the status of sent mail to another AOL user, but that option has been eliminated with the Desktop Gold. Please add this feature back if possible. This feature was very helpful in knowing whether or not the person read the email, and if so, the time and date it was read. Thank you!

    Why is the ability to check status on a sent email gone? What are you going to take from us next? I fail to understand why aol didn't take care of all the **** you planned on screwing up before launching the new gold version which isn't worth a rats *** much less gold anything. Its important to have the ability to check status of some emails sent and you have deprived us of that ability. And yet aol continues to collect money from us each month while giving us less and less options.

    Read receipts are important and I shouldn't have to go outside of aol and use an app that is compatible to get them. Just sending email is not a guarantee that they were read and in some instances not having a read receipt can affect one on a legal level.

    I would like the status option again to see if people are opening the email or deleting them, We pay a monthly fee so why cant we get the option back.

    Under "Sent Mail" ... there is no longer a STATUS feature for those sending an e-mail to another AOL recipient. I STRONGLY URGE you to return that feature. I used it often and found it very helpful. Thank you.

    When I would check to see if an AOL or Verizon customer had read my e-mail, I would see "Read" or "Received". Now the Read seems to have been wiped off and all I see for all is "Currently Unavailable". Has checking the status of an e-mail sent to AOL & Verizon customers been eliminated?
