Where is Steve Case when AOL customers need him? To many popup ads. Local news for Gainesville is never any location closer than 90 to 100 miles away. Add to that the horrible AOL Gold, without the customer being able to go back to 9.2.1 (?) BIG downgrade in AOL Gold. I have been a member of AOL since version 2 and this is the worst AOL browser I've ever seen.

I AGREE!! The ads are terrible. I have even sent a few emails to AOL but to not avail. When I actually find an article I would like to read, so many ads pop up that block it so I can't read it. And of course they don't have an exit X button to get rid of them. There are so many free email providers (gmail, yahoo, etc.); so why am I still paying for AOL that has all these annoying ads? I thought the whole point of paying for a service is to make it ad free. I'm am on the brink of canceling ALL of my accounts. The only thing keeping me here is that I have had the same email address from day one. So much for keeping your loyal customers happy. Oh and yes the spam emails are out of control now.

Since you changed the spam options I get about 100 SPAM emails a day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't use one screen name because of all the junk mail .. You made the changes that effect thousands of people and for NO reason .. I have been a member since just about DAY ONE and have been loyal to you .. Why can't you be loyal to us the one that pays the bills for you .. You make changes that don't work and take away things that do .. One would almost think you're trying to drive customers away

Feedback on your new AOL page. Hmm. I pay you $26.00 and change a month for a constant barrage of advertisements. You stories are gleamed off Youtube, often without even changing the titles, and broken down into so may segments, which take so long to load, that it's faster to copy and paste the title on you tube, and get the whole story in 5 minutes. But that is no longer a problem.
.As your new page allows for your videos start up on their own, often interrupting what I was watching I've had to come up with a really cool solution. Now, as soon as I sign on, I close the Welcome screen, and pooftah! no more interruptions. I get what I pay for.
. Works great -

i agree--I pay for this and still have to navigate around ads! (too many)
Also, the mail feature is mixed up half the time. -

Best thing I did was stop reading anything on the news page. Originally I stopped because I was tired of reading one sentence and having to wait for another page to load to continue reading. What I noticed is that most of the spam and unwanted pop ups stopped when I decided to just close out the news page as soon as it appeared on welcome screen. If you get a lot of spam, try it and just get your news elsewhere like I do. I never clicked on anything except stories I wanted to read, so there must be a lot of embeded garbage on those pages.

I am using windows 10.1 and aol shuts down about 3 times a day for no apparent reason. I has been working fine until about 1 to 2 weeks ago. Any Help?

why should AOL give us options when all on this forum are still paying them for the worse service in the entire industry ? - takes our money + then abuses all long time paying customers !

AOL , Oath does NOTHING to grant any of their long time PAID subscribers needs or wishes - they can not even get sign on , email , welcome screen , + etc. up to acceptable industry standards !!! -

I resent AOL removing the contents of my emails that are waiting to be sent.
If this practice continues, I will cancel my subscription with AOL!

Yes, please, let us choose, don't cram it down our throats. I have never spent thirty minutes browsing the Internet but I will be in the not far future if AOL doesn't get shtuff straightened out.
this is after spending over twenty years on AOL.
Today I tried to read about the two GI. found in Korea. But it is written by scrubal and the first two pages tell you about the Korean conflict, nothing about the two GI.s. I shut it down, as usual because all you do is fill your HD with junk you don't want. All of these sites are an waste. And all the animal stories, most from Africa. WHO CARES? -

Oh, yes! My sentiments exactly. It seems like this site is simply designed to let us complain, because we get no response from the company, nor any of the suggested changes. It is probably not worth the time to enter comments. I am astonished that so many people feel the same way I do, with no response from the company. Definitely time to switch.

Gold is awful! Twice I have lost all or part of my address book, it freezes up regularly requiring a hard shut down, ads are more plentiful than with "old" AOL, other glitches too plentiful to enumerate..all these things make me consider going to gmail.

AOL Gold is really stinking up the joint. Too many things taken away, and we have to pay for this???
Bring back Instant messaging, AOL Desktop themes and Celebrity voices. Default aol sounds and blank, blue backgrounds are BORING! At least with the old versions we could customize our computers and were treated like individuals, and not a bland mass. Been an AOL member since around 1985. This gold is anything but! Speeds are good, but choices suck! -

Trying to get through a slideshow is frustrating and I end up not finishing it because of the constant pop-up ads that obscure what I'm trying to read. Some have no way of closing them out even for a short time. Not to mention that you have to constantly hit "next" instead of being able to just scroll down and read several entries at a time This does not provide a user-friendly experience!

AOL Desktop Gold SUCKS. It runs slow, constantly locking up when you navigate emails or change to a different user name. The ads in my opinion are part of the problems. I pay for a service, NOT ADS, and it's not working like it should be so if it doesn't get repaired SOON I'm probably going to cancel my account. It's very frustrating when you are trying to do something and you have to reboot and start all over again because it stops working. I prefer the older version of AOL rather then this new Gold version which I was forced to get, because I couldn't login to the older one.

Amen. The ads have me actively looking to swap my paid account to another service. Already moving.
