very sorry you removed the option to block mail from senders not in address book -WHY??
reinstate the option to block mail from senders not in address book - why did you remove it??
Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, this feature is no longer available. I apologize for the inconvenience. In order to block a specific sender, go to the Mail menu and select “Block Unwanted Mail” and add the email addresses in the box below “Block Mail from Addresses I Specify”, then click Save Settings at the bottom, or mark the emails in the inbox as Spam.

LEAVE THE SPAM AND MAILBOX FOLDER ALONE. IT HAS WORKED FOR MANY YEARS. MAILBOX IS FOR ALL NAMES IN THE ADDRESS BOOK. ALL OTHER MESSAGES GO TO SPAM FOLDER. MAKES TOTAL SENSE AND HAS WORKED FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. NOW I RECIEVE ALL MESSAGES SPREAD ACROSS MAILBOX AND SPAM. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY STUPID AND HAS TO BE RETURNED TO WHAT WE HAVE HAD FOR YEARS AND SHOULD BE DONE NOW, NOW, NOW, IMMEDIATELY, RIGHT AWAY, TODAY, THIS MINUTE

FOR YEARS ANY MESSAGE COMING IN WOULD EITHER GO GO TO INBOX (IF THE ADDRESS IS IN THE ADDRESS LISTING), OR IF NOT IN THE ADDRESS BOOK WOULD GO INTO SPAM. THAT WAS PERFECT. NOW EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING EVERYTHING GOES INTO THE INBOX, ABSOLUTELY NO INTELLIGENT WAY TO SEPARATE THEM WHY WOULD YOU EVER, EVER CHANGE A VERY SUCCESSFUL SPLIT OF SPAM AND INBOX. IT IS NOW ABSOLUTELY THE MOST STUPID THING I CAN IMAGINE BEING DONE. IT IS OBVIOUS IT IS TIME FOR ME TO CHANGE OUT OF AOL AND GO TO GMAIL OR SOMETHING THAT MAKES SENSE. WHAT AOL HAS DONE IS STUPID, STUPID STUPID. ********@AOL.COM

SPAM SETTINGS - WHY DID YOU CHANGE???
Spam Settings have been changed to only ONE option, that is to block mail from the Sender Filter. The old spam settings allowed you to receive mail from addresses I specify. This feature is very useful. With the new spam settings, I will now receive ANY mail, not blocked. And no, I can’t be blocking all these unknown emails; they change constantly.
Please allow more spam settings, similar to the old settings we are accustomed to using.

either block the spam or give us back the tools that you took away from us so that we can do it ourselves

how are we supposed to block addresses when you took that away from us ?

Your answer to eliminate spam is a waste of time. We should be able to block unwanted emails. Shame on you!! You give us a way to get our mail if we happen to be walking on the moon but here on earth you give spam senders free reign. Again, shame on you.

Give us back control over what goes into spam and only those listed as friend goes into the regular email account.

I don't like that the only choice I have in the spam system is to type in emails that I'll like to block, specially due to that I be receiving tons of emails. Before, I had choices of a click of a button to set my system into blocking all emails and receive emails that I only know/recorded in my address book. Why would this company make things more difficult?

The option to choose to receive mails that are part of the contacts was removed both on the webmail and the ADG.
Please consider re-adding that because it is so inconvenient to manually type in addresses that are not part of the contacts.

Return spam, junk mail, and harassment mail back to sender without opening the e-mail. I think AOL should band e-mails like this from sending harassing e-mail.

One feature that used to make AOL the best mail service was the ability to ALLOW only specified senders' mail to arrive in the INBOX. All others went to SPAM. That feature has disappeared and now there is only the option to BLOCK specified users. A little warning before this feature disappeared would have been nice! PLEASE bring this back as it is a great organizational tool in this world of spam overload because it made it possible to delete separate the spam in one push of the button.

AOL Chat said the recently discontinued option under 'block unwanted e-mail' to list allowed e-mail with balance going to spam, was being worked on. I hope this is true. It's ridiculous to list unwanted e-mails, as spam keeps coming in from all different senders. I had my entire address book listed, so everything else went to spam. Now it's back to the nightmare of dozens of spam mails going to my inbox every day.

Return the spam filter option to accept only mail from designated addresses. Removing that option has allowed much more spam to enter the inbox. Each has to be addressed individually and many simply auto-change their address and you get the same spam over and over.

You have made a change in your system that will cause me to look for a different service. Until now, you have made it possible for me to block incoming email from addresses other than those I specifically authorize. It worked perfectly. I received absolutely no spam, and every email I received came from someone I wanted to be able to access me. Now, I am told by your tech support, this option has been deleted, along with my list of some 200 such addresses, accumulated over 20 years. HORRIBLE! I know I still have the option of blocking specific addresses from reaching me, but to do so I will have to enter each address individually (not 200, probably 2,000,000 addresses, one at a time, as they find me). That will be FAR MORE TIME CONSUMING. I say again, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE that you have done this!

why are you not blocking the spam since you took away our ability to do it ourselves ?
