why am i getting so much spam ?
why am i getting so much spam ?
The best way to resolve this is to mark the emails as “Spam”, that way you can train the spam filter to better identify unwanted emails in the future. You can also block specific senders by going to the Mail menu on the top left, and selecting “Block Unwanted Mail” from the drop-down menu, then adding the senders emails address in the Sender Filter’s block list.

I understand that you have a block email feature. However that means opening and copying the spam email addresss then pasting it in the block email screen. For me that means doing that between 75 ad 100 times a day. In the meantime I run the risk of opening an email with malware attached. Surely there has to be a better way. Deleting the spam should block it from that point on.

You need to develope an easier way to stop spam email. Every day I have to delete between 75 and 100 spam emails. It seems to me that once deleted they should not be able to continue sending you emails. perhaps put another button at the bottom of the spam folder that says block, instead of just delete.

I agree, this is the most stupid thing AOL had done so far. SPAM IS SPAM. INBOX has always (for 20 years) been for mail from friends and family that are listed in the ADDRESS list. NOW I GET ABOUT 75% SPAM IN MY INBOX every day. And yes, SPAM will often include maiul from those listed in my Address Book. Makes sense to leave AOL behind and go to GMAIL OR YAHOO.

AOL NO LONGER CAN SEPARATE MAIL FROM FRIENDS LISTED IN ADDRESS BOOK AND SPAM --THE ARE ALL MIXED TOGETHER. TODAY I HAD 14 ITEMS IN MY INBOX--ONLY 2 WERE FROM PEOPLE IN MY ADDRESS BOOK. THE OTHER 12 BELONGED IN THE SPAM FOLDER. SEEMS THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE ANYMORE BETWEEN INBOX AND SPAM. WILL MAKE MANY AOL USERS RUN TO GMAIL AND YAHOO, INCLUDING ME.

This new AOL really sucks. After all these years, we will be changing to another provider

In all my years with AOhelL I have never, ever been so inundated with spam. Just opened the box to 16. Earlier today I think it was another 24. One day recently it was 39. I keep emptying the folder, so each time it is a new batch. I don't think anyone in your organization reads these things. It is just a bot that looks for certain words so the merge message can be sent. Giving feedback sure as **** doesn't do anything.

How about AOL re instating the old Spam settings. Before AOL got the dumb idea to eliminate the security question and key word block on Spam I might have got less than a dozen Spam e-mails in my Spam filter all week. Now I get up to as many as thirty or more a day. Just his morning when I logged onto to AOL there was twenty eight in my Spam filter and the Spam e-mails will continue to increase all day. It seems now that AOL is charging a monthly fee they are giving us less security for our money. AOL better change to the old settings as placing the Spam e-mail address in the Spam block filter does not work. I don't understand why AOL made this change to the security as it was not broken before but it definitely is broken now !!!!!

Much "SPAM" is going to my INBOX, not all, but enough to point this error out to you. I don't see any common cause.
The way AOL worked forever, was: If an ID is in my contact list, it goes to my inbox. If it is not in my contact list, it goes to spam.
- but no longer. This has been occurring for the last several beta releases.

GET BACK TO WHAT WAS DONE AT AOL FOR 20 YEARS AND ALLOW ONLY, ONLY, ONLY ITEMS FROM ADDRESS BOOK. ALL OTHERS GO TO SPAM, WHICH IS WHAT SPAM MEANS. NOW MORE SPAM GETS INTO INBOX THAN GOES TO SPAM. SUGGEST AOL GETS IT BACK TO WHAT WAS RIGHT BEFORE MORE PEOPLE LEAVE AOL AND GO TO GMAIL AND YAHOO.

TO FIX THIS, IT IS SIMPLE. GO BACK TO WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING FOR 20 YEARS, UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHEN THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INBOX AND SPAM. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, MUST BE TIME FOR AOL TO HIRE UP-TO-DATE SOFTWARE PEOPLE, OR TURN THE COMPANY OVER TO GMAIL OR YAHOO, AS THEY COULD FIX THIS PROBLEM QUICKLY..

Restore email settings to allow for unwanted email to go to Span folder. The last change to allow everything to go to my IN box is going to be the last straw before I close my AOL account.

Good grief! Just came on and there were 39 pieces of spam in the spam box, and I had already cleaned it out once today. That is ridiculous!

There should be a block email from address in the spam folder. Sometimes the e-mail lets one block it but it don't start for 10 days. Then they just change the address and start sending it again. If there was a block e-mail in the spam folder we could block the mails right away. It is very disturbing to pay for aol gold and then get 30 e-mail spams a day
