Saving an Email - not working.
I wish to save the contents of an email, (older AOL desktop had capability)
What I've tried - but doesn't work..
On an email, I right click & "SELECT ALL"
Then Click (bottom left of email border" SAVE & on my PC, Select
the folder I want .. & NOTHING is saved..
Try again with "Create a folder" .. enter name and again
NOTHING is saved and the folder was NOT created.
What I NEEED is save the entired email as a PDF or as an HTML file with any images.. OR whatever!!
You can now save a copy of your emails as a PDF or Text file on your computer, which can be accessed outside of the AOL Desktop Gold.
To do this, open an email from your mailbox, then click on File on the top left and select Save from the drop-down menu. You can type a name for the file in the “File Name” box, select the location where you want to save it, and finally click on Save in the bottom right.
Please note that you can save one email at a time.

After spending several days and many hours trying to solve my problem with and without AOL technical support, I finally solved this question with 1 AOL technical support representative:
My problem: My PC crashed and I wanted to retrieve all the important AOL emails and folders I “Saved on My PC”. With my new PC, and with a hard drive adaptor -- I was able to view my old internal hard drive files from the crashed PC and I could see all my files were there -- so I figured the AOL Desktop Gold emails must be there somewhere.
So here is what was done on my PC with the AOL Desktop Gold files:
Go to this folder location:
On the drive of my old internal hard drive / Users / “your user name” / AppData / Local / AOLDesktopData / dbIn the db folder find the following 3 files:
“your AOL email screen name”. sqlite
“your AOL email screen name”. sqlite.backup
“your AOL email screen name”. sqlite-journal
Copy these 3 filesNow go to the same location on the new PC:
Drive C: / Users / “your user name” / AppData / Local / AOLDesktopData / db
Replace the 3 files that have the same file name in that location with the 3 files you just copied (I would save the files you are replacing before doing this just in case there is a problem)Close and Restart AOL Desktop Gold if it is open and Hopefully you will see all of your previously saved folders and AOL emails ! If for some reason, after doing this, you seem to be missing some current emails from your inbox or sent emails folders. Right click on that folder and hit “refresh mailbox”
Hope this helped !
