AOL gold freezes every day
Everyday AOL GOLD freezes up and I have to use Google. Why am I paying you to use your desktop if it does not work!! YOU SHOULD BE PAYING ME TO USE AOL GOLD!!! Don't force people to use this ****! FIX IT ALREADY!! I AM PAYING YOU 3.99 a MONTH SO IS EVERYONE ELSE!!!
Thank you for your report, our engineers are actively working on the issues you have described.
Please follow the steps:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold→Export the data by going to Edit→General Settings→My Data→Export/Backup→Select the location for your backup and then Save→Click on “OK” without entering a password→Wait until the export finishes.
2. If AOL Desktop Gold does not launch or it freezes right away→Go to the search bar on the lower left corner on Windows and type “Run”→Type in the Run box the word “appdata” then OK→Click on “Local”→Go to “AOLDesktopData”→Right click on the folder called “db” and select “Copy” and paste it on the Desktop screen.
3. Then, go back to Local→Right click on “AOLDesktopData” and then select “Rename” and type in “AOLDesktopData1”.
4. Uninstall the current AOL Desktop Gold version by going to Control Panel→Programs and features (Windows 7) or Apps and Features (Windows 10).
5. Install AOL Desktop Gold by going to mybenefits.aol.com, or myaccount.aol.com using Chrome, Edge, Firefox, IE or other browser.
6. If you have the same issues as before completing these troubleshooting steps, then please file a report by going to Help→Report a bug and explain in detail what seems to be happening.
aol has bot worked correctly the last six days I keep getting codes like the request was not understood by the server code EC-4001 aol mail is slow to open the when it does open it is slow to get the message! Common Man I am paying for this ****!
This is a bunch of **** aol is down again two days in a row how many times do the engineers have to fix the same issues? I should not have to resign in when i am already signed into AOL Hello!
Since verizon took over they have destroyed AOL This is terrible It while typing this I get code EC4001 COMMON MAN! Mail just showed up five minutes after signing in

I constantly have the same problem.
Now my Address book has disappeared.
I have liked how easy it was to use your settings but htat is of the past and you might be too if you cannot fix problems.

I have been with AOL since they started. Mine too freezes up AOL is bad. Takes several times to log into. Tries my patience big time. Gmail loads with a snap of the finger. When you follow AOL directions they tell you got to this page click on this link and you are all set. Only one problem there is no link. or page.
Why do you make it so hard to sign in? If you are lucky enough to get that far. I post a new password on Wed. and you say it's invalid later in the day or on Thurs. What in the **** are you folks drinking?

Finally, I see that I am not alone. Desktop Gold does all kinds of crazy things when trying to load my email messages. I have found that simply going to AOL via Microsoft Edge is much better. (Also determined that I can delete Auto Suggest entries this way, but not possible in Desktop Gold.) So, why would anyone use Desktop Gold, and pay to be using it? Very disappointed with AOL recently.

You pay $3.99. Why am I paying $4.99 for AOL Gold??? And yes, they need to fix all the "bugs" in it. They ignore us and yet we continue to pay them. My screen flashes to black and then back on constantly and has since November 2020. I complain to them and ask them to fix it on average of once a week. No response and no repair. SUCKS!

Sounds as tho there's a need for a new staff supporting this product; after all this time, it should be well tested as well as should all updates that are pushed out. I more often than not have an issue with any update including the "freezing" issue (currently), AND Desktop uses way too many resources and needs to be "trimmed down" so as to have a smaller footprint . . . way overdue and very frustrating for all of us.

Each time I sign off, I must put in sign in and mail settings go back to original before I set. Cannot access mail settings
I have had nothing but issues with AOL Gold...this is NOT acceptable after all the years and money I have spent for this service!!!! Takes almost 5 minutes just to log in and then even longer to log off "AOL NOT RESPONDING!!! What the ****??? either give me my money back after 20+ years or FIX it!!!

That's the poorest explanation I have ever heard for incompetency of a company.. I can't even follow your instructions.. All o f a sudden I now am being asked to create a new account because of non usage.. I used AOL about 2 hours ago and do use it everyday so what is the deal.. Maybe it is time for g.mail. i have used AOL for more that 20 years.. Your responce will help make my decision..

What is your problem, AOL? You can see that your horrible Gold platform totally sucks and everybody hates it, and it has endless problems, yet you refuse to replace it with a platform that works and is user-friendly. Please replace it with a platform that works!
Yes, AOL Gold freezes constantly!! I am paying 15.00 a month and have been with AOL forever..This is the worst version you have ever released!!

Agree. Freezes constantly. Yesterday, I was trying to place an online order and it froze and wouldn't process the order. Had to go to Firefox to complete the order process. One of the comments mentioned was paying $3.99 a month for AOL. I'm paying $14.95. How do you get the cheaper rate. Like the AOL format and toolbar and favorites, but ready to switch. Not worth the price I'm paying.

That's right folks, AOL Gold is a mess whatever browser is used. It just becomes a messy case where AOL Gold works the worst, or not at all. It's truly amazing AOL's parent company Verizon, Oath et. al. can get away with fraud for sooo long. Never thought I'd live to see such corruption in the open. Sad.

I have been remoted into 5 or 6 times to get rid of an AOL full page popup!!!! It continually pops up over and over and over . It is an AOL Ad PAGE with THIS IN THE SEARCH BAR.
I've reported to "fix a bug" too!!! Been with AOL since the early 90's. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
