AOL Desktop Gold feels plain and a bit boring
I think AOL Desktop Gold would be much better if it brought back AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) as part of the platform. Back in the days of AOL 9.0, AIM was a huge part of why people stayed logged in—it gave AOL personality and made it fun to connect with friends in real time.
Right now, AOL Desktop Gold feels plain and a bit boring because there’s not much to do besides email and basic browsing. Bringing back AIM, even in a modernized form, could make AOL Desktop Gold more interactive, social, and appealing to both long-time members and new users.
