Give us back the 9.8 features in Gold

Bring back desktop themes, stationery and emojis for mail, allow us to set up Favorites like we want them, make icons for toolbar available. Most of the time when I'm typing a e-mail, the type doesn't keep up with me and thus missing letters or words. Give us back all the features of 9.8 because Gold is seriously lacking most everything.

    WHAT'S SAD ABOUT ALL THIS IS THAT THEY JUST DELETE THE COMMENTS LIKE MINE BECAUSE THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH. IN FACT, AOL IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE McDONALDS OF ONLINE, A PROGRAM FOR SENIORS AND MOSTLY A MONEY RIP IN GENERAL. IT'S BECOMING AN EMBARRASSMENT TO POSSES AND USE AND SAYS TO THE WORLD YOU ARE SADLY BEHIND THE TIMES. NOT MANY INFORMED PEOPLE USE IT ANYMORE, LET ALONE PAY FOR IT. ADD TO THIS THE FACT THAT AOL GOLD IS A COMPLETELY PATCHED TOGETHER PROGRAM FROM THE OLD BONES OF AOL 9.8, AND YOU HAVE A PRETTY SILLY, YET GREEDY COMPANY AND SITUATION. DON'T BELIEVE ME?     Allow options to choose from in email format. The Gold version is outdated and cluttered.

    AOL Desktop Gold is EXTREMELY SLOW processing mail. What used to take seconds now takes minutes or even hours. For example, today I tried to open an email. The screen displayed the email but when I tried to do anything else (in this case, reply), the screen just sat there. I went to the store. 2 hours later, the screen is the same as when I left it. This is just one example. Yesterday, while trying to read my mail, it took 10 - 15 minutes for each piece to process. More mail was coming in, so I never got to it all. I'm still trying to process it today, with little success. I've used the Windows Task Manager to view the performance, and it appears that with no other tasks running, AOL is taking 35% - 50% of the CPU time. And it isn't doing anything. Something is wrong. Are there any upgrades available for AOL Desktop Gold, or should I just switch to GMail, and give up on AOL after 40 years. Paul K****

    My idea is for the idiots that are in charge of AOL to make it work. The software for AOL Gold must have been written by nine year old children. It's actually fraudulent to offer and charge for a product without any intent to provide a properly functioning product. Gold has been in force for over a year and it still works like ****.

    OMG PLEASE PLEASE DUMP THIS AOL GOLD! IT'S THE SLOWEST EVER! My PC runs perfect otherwise, do we have another option?

    Gold is nothing but problems. My 3 click operation with 9.8.2 to send a scanned document in an email is now a 12 step operation. Email is frequently so narrow that it is just verticle letters. The obvious solution to the gold problems is to go back to 9.8.2.

    I HAVE A 15 MEG DOWN AND 6 MEG UP! BUT, AOL GOLD IS STILL DOG SLOW TO OPEN SLOW TO READ EMAIL AND MOSTLY DOG SLOW EVERY OTHER WAY. I DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAM, ONLY AOL GOLD.

    My time is too valuable to struggle with AOL GOLD on several issues. Nor do I have time to constantly seek help and continue to have problems. I have been a customer for years but that might soon change! It would be impossible for me to recommend AOL the way it currently is. You all should be paying your customers to put up with this mess!!!

    ...THEY JUST WANT THEIR MONEY THAT YOU PAY FOR. AOL GOLD IS A COLOSSAL MESS FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER AND LOADS YOUR COMPUTER WITH ALL MANNER OF TROJAN **** AND SECRET FILES. Best way to improve AOL Gold is to dump it and return AOL 9.8. Simple, but OATR Corp does not own the old program, as it was not part of the take-over deal, that's why all the insidious problems.

    extreme latency in reading and sending emails. three tech agents and four hours later, still no solution. After 11 years with AOL I may have to change.

    AOL GOLD IS SLOW!!!! I HAVE NOT USED. MY PFC IS NOW UP TO 9k BECAUSE I CANNOT FILE THE EMAILS I NEED FILED. aND CANNOT DELETE THE UNNECESSARY ONES. OLD AOL WITH NON-INTERNET PFC WAS MUCH BETTER. SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Please do someting with AOL DEsktop Gold. The software is very slow. It took 2to 3mins to open the softwre and the email.I've been calling you for how many times alrdy.
