Writing mail off line is preferred for me but Gold requires me to sign in before I can write.
Sometimes I write a lot of mail and I prefer to write it off line as time allows then sign on and send it later. Gold requires me to sign on before and can access my address book.

I keep my router turned off when not actively using the internet. This makes me feel less likely to be hacked. Prior to AOL Gold, I could start AOL, compose an Email, then sign on, send, and sign off. This limited my online time for Emails.
Also, we travel in a motorcoach (RV), and don't always have access to the internet. During those times, we used to compose Emails and put then into the "Send Later" folder. We can't do that now. -

There are times I need to write an email offlinge and don't have wifi available to get online......So what's the point...there is no address book available offline....and cannot save drafts to be sent or finished later..... As a paying member I highly resent your controling what seems to me a personal option!!! You have taken too much from your members and forved us to accept your dictatorship!!! If the average business was run this way they would go bankrupt.....is that your goal???

Last fall, when AOL compelled its customers to change to AOL Gold— whether they wanted to or not—AOL made many software and operational changes which were NOT straightforwardly and honestly disclosed, up front.
Such as:
- uploading our Address Books
- disabling on-site storage of our own emails
- eliminating off-line access to our sent and received mail
- eliminating off-line access to our Address BookNow AOL wants its customers to ‘accept’ the new so-called “Oath” terms and conditions.
So my questions are:
..... With “Oath,” what NEW changes will be implemented without our prior knowledge??
..... What changes will be implemented that AOL has not clearly and forthrightly disclosed, up front??What is currently offered online for our review is NOT clear, NOT forthright, and NOT readily comprehensible.

I have to sign on. Otherwise:
I can't open my Inbox to see existing items.
I can't open my Address Book. I can't add an entry to my Address Book. I can't look up someone's email. I can't write an Email using a Group. I can't even write an email without typing the address (and hope I get it right)
All of these useful features were part of AOL 9.8.2.
Why were they removed? Please put them back!!

AOL 9.8 allows us to review old mails and compose new mails without internet. AOL Gold has the option of storing incoming/outgoing mails locally but we can not access them without sign on to AOL. Then, there is no purpose of saving the mails locally. This 9.8's features are very useful when there is no internet service or poor connection. We need to get this feature back to GOLD.......
