What's even worse is you can enter in an event and still set a reminder that doesn't happen. How about just removing that feature for the time being. Also AOL FAQs still tell you how to set reminders and alerts even though you can't. After 20+ years of AOL probably time to look at something different for calendars anyway.

I'm not receiving my AOL calendar email alerts either. It's been almost 2 months. I wish this would stop happening. I'm going to use another email after 20 years of being a member.

AOL, have you discontinued this feature on not???? Please let us know so that we can plan appropriately. It's not too much to ask.

I have just been advised that this feature is discontinued. Unbelievable. I've been an AOL customer ever since the days when Prodigy went under. I've been a loyal paying customer and I can't believe they are doing this. Without even advising their customers! If they don't get this feature back, I'm gone!

Do you think AOL even reads these postings? Look how far back they go and yet nothing is done.I for one depended on AOL for these reminders. So, as I can see a lot of you did also. And yet, AOL isn't listening evidently as to what all their customers want?

PRIOR TO CHANGING TO AOL DESKTOP GOLD, ALL THE REMINDERS ON MY MONTHLY CALENDAR WOULD BECOME AN EMAIL FOR THAT PARTICULAR DAY. IT WAS EXPECTED AND CONVENIENT AND I FEEL LIKE I WAS CHEATED OUT OF A TOPIC. PLEASE BRING BACK THAT FEATURE. THANKS.

I agree with so many of the remarks made. AOL reminders is very important to me. I had to email and then had to call to find out it had been discontinued. I got two different replies when I first asked. A lot of us depended on this AOL!! Listen to your customers and make it available again or you will probably lose some customers over this.

Gerald Bemis....I am curious as to why you state they are forcing us to pay for AOL Gold..can we not call them and terminate AOL Gold and receive our emails through www.aol.com for free? I always thought that was an option. For myself, I signed up for the AOL Gold specifically for the calendar and the email reminders. I think it is hideous the way they did away with the email reminders without telling anyone in advance they were going to do that. What I am thinking is that at some point they will also do away with the calendar with no advance warning. Because that is who they are now.

My aol calendar is not sending aol email alerts. I am told that this feature has been disabled. I haven't received alerts since at least the mid May. I have called numerous times with no success. You are now forcing us to pay for AOL Gold. Since having Aol Gold, I have had problem after problem. And we have to pay for this?

You certainly have fallen down since the advent of AOL Gold. You've removed services (IM for one) and your phone service leaves a LOT to be desired. The Calendar was one of the services that I heavily relied on and you didn't even have the decency to let us know it wasn't working. Isn't the money we members pay each month enough to keep you on top of things. You say this complaint is "Under Review" Oh yeah??? How about giving your subscribers a progress report or is this just another service down the drain? I sure would like to hear from someone but I'd probably win the lottery first.

What is the matter with you people. Are you taking us for some dummies who don't know what we are doing. It's a complete insult for you to keep telling us that your working on fixing the Calendar . If you were working on the Calendar it should'nt take longer than 1 day to fix it. This is not the way AOL should be treating us. I have been an AOL customer for many years and am contemplating discontinuing with AOL. And incidently stop trying to sell us more security every time we call you for service. We will get additional services when we want it. I would like to to send me an E-Mail and try to give me a truthful answer. Thanks

While chatting with an AOL rep (in RP, where else, but at least she spoke English pretty well) I asked at the end of our conversation about the Calendar. She indicated that a Sr Tech had advised her that it would not become functional again all the email accounts had been migrated to Oath. I asked how long that would take and was informed that there is no available timeline, just whenever it gets done. So I politely suggested that perhaps AOL/Oath could get ahead of this thing and make a public announcement explaining the situation.
I have been using MSN Calendar. It doesn't send an email reminder but it does come up on my screen or goes to the Notification folder. It's a poor substitute for the service formerly provided by AOL but it will do for now.
So how about it, AOL/Oath? Why not come out with it? -

Folks, I'm afraid that we are all just wishing for something that probably isn't coming back. The notion that this is a "fix" is ridiculous. A "fix" is when something is broken or doesn't work. The email Reminder feature wasn't broken or in need of update. They simply removed it from their service package.
Think about it. It's not like they needed to invent or reinvent the feature. It was also not in need of "upgrading" or "fixing" either. After all of this time, our calls and inquiries what has happened? Nothing but brush off responses. I wish that they were more honest about this and just inform people that they have dropped the service (for whatever reason) and it's not coming back.
I like the post that someone did asking if anyone knows of another Calendar service out there that has email reminders. I'm starting today and report back if I find something worthwhile.
