We will send this to our Product Engineers and they will look into this to see if they can have it fixed in a future update or release of the software.
Unfortunately, AIM has been discontinued.
Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into the chat room freezing issue. To do that, follow these steps:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.
3. Type a short description of the problem, and click Send.
When trying to access a keyword and you are redirected to an AOL Search page, it means that the keyword does not exist.
Regarding the missing favorites, please run the import wizard by following the steps in this help article: https://help.aol.com/articles/aol-desktop-importing-your-personal-information. If your favorites are still missing after the import wizard, please call the AOL Desktop Gold team at 1-888-265-3733 in order to have one of our Technicians further investigate the issue.

I agree with every single thing you said --- and there are even a lot more things that are wrong. Almost every one of my friends and family have already left and they keep bugging me to do the same. I've been trying to hold on as I'm a member since the 90's but I don't know how much more of this I can take. Especially upsetting is that AOL could care less. These complains get merged and 90% of the time there is no response whatsoever.
I don't know why I'm still here because I am forced to use the Internet Explorer Browser because the AOL browser is bad.... I get my news elsewhere because the Huffington Post is incredibly bad especially with the ads.... I get the weather elsewhere as the AOL weather does not work right. I get my finance info elsewhere because the AOL financial site is slow and not accurate. On top of that there is suddenly loads of spam and opening mail and deleting mail are painfully slow, COULD GO ON AN ON. Must ad that without the Buddy List AOL is not really needed.Extremely disappointed to say the least.
