Feedback for unread and read emails
I like for the listing on the "New Emails" list be the following way:
The emails on the list that I've not read to be in bold type; and
The emails on the "New" list that I've read and clicked to be listed as "unread" to be in the light type.
This makes me able to see at with only a quick glance if I've already read it but still wanted it in the "New" list.
Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, this feature is no
longer available. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Mail that has been read and kept in inbox used to be non-bold. today, all mail in inbox is in bold, making it impossible to distinguish what has been read and what has not been read. why was this change made? and how do we fix this?

Self-explanatory -- it helped (in the past of course) that if you read mail and just wanted to come back to it later (Mark Unread) that mail would then be UN-bolded. Now, it looks just like all the other mail that has NOT been read. LEAVE THESE THINGS ALONE, LIKE WHAT happened to the INSTANT DELETE?

I see today after many complaints that all of the new mail is not bolded except for the new ones coming in. It would be good to tell people that to unbold emails you have read and saved as new, read them again, and re-save them. They will be unbolded.

When I read a new email and them mark it "keep as new" for future reference, it reverts to a "bold" email as though it hasn't been read. Makes all my emails appear as though they haven't been read by me. This doesn't happen when I switch to a different browser. Please change this back to it's previous settings immediately. Thank you.

All incoming emails are in bold. It used to be that once it was read, and marked as 'unread', it would then be unbolded. That way I could tell if I had read the email. NOW once an email is read and marked as 'unread' it reverts to BOLD again. I have no idea if I have read it or not. PLEASE change is new feature to once again save read emails as un-bold. This is an unwanted change, and will determine if I remain an aol customer

Why doesn't unread mail stay in NEW MAIL in LOWER CASE. Now all mail is in CAPS. (new and unread) Very hard to keep track where you left off.

Either allow the email Inbox to create a hold folder or return to non bold font for mail that has been read versus bold font for all mail. No way to see which mail has been read and needs follow up action attention.

Mails under NEW Mail folder turns into BOLD even if some of them has been read before. Google chrome works fine.
Unable to see mails under Spam Folder.
AOL Desktop gold runs slow as well.
Slow when switching Screennames in AOL Desktop Gold. -

I use the "new" file to access and manage all of my mail. All of a sudden, the other day all the "read" mail that I choose to leave in the new file for later reference changed to "unread." Also, the warning that used to appear that asks "do you know who sent this mail" no longer shows up as a safety warning. What gives? Please fix!

Agreed 100%. Very disturbing and disrupting. I can not tell which mails I have read and am saving in the inbox until I can reply. And I can't tell which mails I have not looked at yet. I am thinking of going to Gmail because of this is and because there are so many other problems with the mail.

Put email back the way it was! Sometimes we need to keep mail that has been read in the inbox for a few days. Mail in the inbox that has been read has always been listed in regular type. New unread mail was listed in bold type. Now EVERYTHING in the inbox is listed in bold type so you cannot tell which emails you have read from the ones that have not been.

Why is everything in my inbox now bold? Very distracting, ******* the eyes and confusing. I often read new mail and save some as new. When I saved a mail as new it was never bold before. This made it easy to see which mails in the inbox I didn't read yet because they were the only one not bold. PLEASE go back to the way it was.

This is a feature that has been the norm of AOL since we first got it over 15 years ago.
Now, you say that ‘feature’ is no longer available. Well, put it back. You are taking away something your long time users have had for years.

Whoever decided to put the totally ALL BOLD FONT in the "NEW" email list is an IDIOT. If you can't or won't change it, I will have to find another email service that allows me to distinguish between what I've marked "Mark Unread" and what I haven't read yet.

Return read mail in new mail to light grey type instead of keeping all mail, read or not in bold black type. Bad idea. See Case # 07159175

After reading an email & marking it as unread, it no longer shows in a lighter black. No way to tell what I have read. This has been the norm for over 15 years. How can I get it back to the way it was?

They're in bold type on all my email addresses. That's of course the way it should be.
However, I like for the ones I've read and marked "Mark Unread" to be in light type in the "New" list because that way, I can instantly know the status of them and I don't even have to think about it.
On my Cleopetfeeding email address, in the New list, the ones I haven't read are bold type and the ones I've read but marked "Mark Unread" are in light type, which I like.
For the past week though, my other email addresses have in their "New" list, only bold type for everything, even the ones I've read and marked "Mark Unread" which doesn't work as well for me.
