very sorry you removed the option to block mail from senders not in address book -WHY??
reinstate the option to block mail from senders not in address book - why did you remove it??
Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, this feature is no longer available. I apologize for the inconvenience. In order to block a specific sender, go to the Mail menu and select “Block Unwanted Mail” and add the email addresses in the box below “Block Mail from Addresses I Specify”, then click Save Settings at the bottom, or mark the emails in the inbox as Spam.

Who's stupid idea was it to ***** around with our spam controls ???
Put it back the way it was already ... That's the only way we can try to control the spam since you guys can't seem to get it right ! -

Bring back the Spam Controls with the multiple options and Spam Folder. Your customer service says AOL removed them but they didn't know why. (Typical) I used this feature daily for my business and now you have taken away my options of personally screening emails before opening them. I would get 15 to 20 emails sent to my Spam folder every day, some were legitimate. I had none yesterday and only one today. Am I losing business because of this? Probably, but AOL doesn't seem to concerned about that. Whoever came up with the idea to remove this feature was probably just making a change for the sake of making a change. He or she has to justify their position somehow. If they can save AOL a few cents, they feel they are doing their job, regardless of what their customers want. I've been with AOL since the 1980's. If this situation is not rectified and soon, I know I will be one of those saying adios to AOL.

I would very much like to have the email preferences of yesteryear back, specifically, the ability to chose which email addresses come into my inbox, and anything not on the list of exceptable addresses went to the spam folder!. AOL was unique in this feature. All other email providers only let you chose which addresses don't come into the in box, not which ones can!. I gave me peace of mind that all the junk wasn't going to accidentally opened.
One other little change I don't like with Desktop Gold is that I can't sign in until the third screen. I just want to get signed on, do my business and sign out.
I have been a loyal AOL customer for over 18 years! Please go back to your perfectly honed service before Desktop Gold and this merger of November 2017.
Thank you for listening.

Why do we now have to put specific email addresses in spam controls? Used to be just words. 100 people can send spam mails with the word Viagra. I can't put all of the addresses into spam controls. I used to have the word Viagra in there which covered all spam mails with the name Viagra. Now it has been wiped out along wit all the other words I had in there. AOL is making many dumb senseless changes which makes it harder for us.

My primary account used spam control option such that only designated address would go to the inbox, all others would go to spam. Suddenly, I started getting what should have gone to spam in my inbox. I went to spam controls and only saw the option that would allow specific addresses to be sent to spam. The other options no longer showed. Strange that two other accounts still had all the options showing. If I had to enter each received spam email into the block box, I would quickly have 100 times more addresses to list than I would if I only wanted a small list of emails to come into my inbox. Why are you doing this?

My concern is why the mail preferences were taken from my account. I use to be able to specify which email addresses I wanted into my inbox and now that is gone. I was told my your tech that this information can only be entered by them. Why is that?? I don't want to have to enter in spam information. I am an adult so why can't I enter this information. I don't appreciate this option being taken without my knowing. Very disappointed!!!!!!

Put the control back where users can say I only want to receive email in my NEW box from people I know(address book) Other emails go to spam (if not in address book) FIX THIS BACK YOU CHANGED IT YOU COST ME LOADS OF MONEY MISSING A CONTRACT THAT WENT TO SPAM. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER -You would not be either.

Email - what happened to the place where you select New email is from people one knows (address book) all else goes to Spam.
YOU have it just reversed now - and there is no place to change this. -

The new spam filters have removed the content filters and the wild card capability. Consequently, the only way to block spam is to use the full address. I've been getting 40-60 spams a day and do not have the time to input their addresses. Eventho the root may be identical, I can't use the wild card (*) and content "*****, Viagra, etc." can't be used to block the spam. Either return the content and wildcard capability or I use a different provider (Incidentally, Chrome has an excellent spam filter.

In the unwanted mail link to reinstate the feature where Aol allows only those emails I want to receive.

Bring back content filters and the wildcard (*). I'm getting 60-70 spams a day from .org.uk but all the prefixes are different. I can't block 60 address a day without the wildcard!

Why am I still repeatedly getting emails from spam/scam addresses that I already have blocked in my "block mail containing specific words and phrases" ???

I called tech support about this and the rep suggested I post this here rather than "Report a bug." Today I have received and am continuing to receive many unwanted and potentially dangerous emails. I clicked on “Spam Settings” and the only functionality presently available is the ability to block specific senders. The other functionality has vanished. I had previously been able to restrict emails to “People I Know” and have the rest permanently deleted or directed to the spam folder. This functionality is critical and is one of the reasons we are continuing to use and pay for AOL. I hope it is only unavailable temporarily.
