Restore the old spam settings. Now we only have one setting.
First you took away stationery and vast choice of fonts, emojis, etc. Then you changed how mail is set up (from new, old, sent, spam, deleted mail to current style) and the Spam settings from numerous choices to only one (blocked). it seems the longer we continue to PAY for AOL Gold, the less we are getting for our money. I see by the Feedback that I'm far from alone in feeling AOL Gold does not seem "golden" to your PAYING customers.
Hey,
Wanted to let you all know that you now have the ability to block mail from unwanted senders. Please click the link here to learn more: https://help.aol.com/articles/keep-your-inbox-clean-by-blocking-unwanted-mail-in-aol-desktop-gold

You should never have switched from 2 blocking options to only 1 in the first place! The Name/Phrase blocking worked for years. I've been an AOL user since 1996, and AOL grew until 9.8 was canned, now it's backward and downhill. Please rid us of these spambots NOW!

I get 30-50 spams a day from "CONTACTS" at various domains.
They are all spam and I'd like to block them and others like we could on the old AOL. using CONTACTS@*.
Also use the *@<domain name> to block an entire domain like the old AOL. -

Thanks, please restore it as soon as possible. I'm getting bombarded by spambots, and the "Word/Phrase" would help. It should never have been taken away in the first place!

How can I get rid of AOL Gold and return to the one I had before being charged for this ****? Is that possible?
-
Robert commented
When I click on "Report Spam" and then enter the email address and then "Save" I get a small window that reads, "Javascript Alert, https://mail.aol.com" and tells me I can't use following characters (like #^%) or other characters. None of the email address's I enter have ANY characters in them. So why can't the ones I entered be saved? Please reply with how to correct this problem.

Add a RETURN TO SENDER catagory to the e-mail tools. Maybe all the spammers will get tired of getting thier junk mail back and will stop sending it to you.You would not have to type in filters anymore.

Where did it go? I went into Settings A - Z and clicked on Blocked Email and get an AOL page saying it's no longer available. Leave it to AOL to keep taking away and taking away things from us while they offer **** we don't need or want. I've been on AOL since it started and it's the worse than it's ever been.

I'm getting daily spam from "newsletter@*.us and have also received from newsletter@*.cdn. WHY oh WHY can't you put back the Name/Phrase spam control to BLOCK this @*@*? Please LISTEN to us and RESPOND instead of "merging this"? Remember - I've been paying for your service since 1996 and deserve better.

I think AOL wants us to get so upset that we drop GOLD. Then they will not need to bother with us. Watch--they will come out with something else to charge us for that does not work.

This is getting so ridiculous with the SPAM, I gave up trying to enter the email addresses. They return with new spam addresses shortly. Now I'm even getting them in my inbox and having to "actually" report as SPAM, not that it does any good. Because of the premise of being charged a fee, there should be better SPAM controls provided (like as before).... they should be brought to the attention of some authority. Anyone have an idea how to spam AOL... lol. I feel like I'm paying for AOL Silver, minimal benefits, if any. I have 3 email addresses, with AOL, so yes, I am not a happy AOL PAYING customer, at this rate I will soon abandon ship and save my money.

I would like the old settings on blocking e mail. With the old free AOL one got better filters than the one we pay for.
