AOL Client continues to be buggy --- WHY??? AOL 9.7 worked!! What is wrong?
WHY do you keep screwing with your AOL client? It is slow and buggy as always. NEVER happened BEFORE this ****** GOLD. When AOL was owned by AOL the company it worked great. NOW it is slow and sluggish. I have to re-start my computer to fix the issue. Restarting the AOL client does nothing. Can you fix this? I have an up to date PC that I built...super fast AMD processor....8gb memory.....Win 10 latest updates. Can you please respond? I have been with AOL over 20 years. I was a beta tester for many years in Northern VA where AOL began. Thank you. ****@aol.com
To resolve the slowness and performance issues, please try the troubleshooting solutions below:
1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.
2. Restart the computer. This helps clear the internal memory (RAM), which often resolves many issues.
3. Enable only the essential startup programs. Multiple programs may have been set to start automatically when a computer is turned on. These programs may cause the computer to slow down, and affect other running applications.
In case you continue to experience performance issues, please call us at 1-888-265-3733.

Thanks for raising this issue. It’s understandable that you’d expect a chosen background image to display at its normal size, especially if it worked differently in the past. Since Desktop Gold does offer personalization options for background images in settings, including selecting pictures from your device, it does seem worth checking those controls to see if anything there affects scaling. If the image still appears oversized, it might be something the development team needs to look into further. Providing clear examples of what you’re seeing and any steps to reproduce the behavior can help the team investigate and improve this aspect of the experience.

A while ago, I reported twice that the background we choose from our device to use on AOL Desktop doesn’t display at a normal size; the images I use appear huge. It wasn’t like this before, every time they make changes, it gets worse. I didn’t even want to keep insisting about the huge backgrounds—they ignored me. I think AOL doesn’t have someone professional to make these changes. Little by little, AOL’s prestige is going down; it’s not and will not be what it used to be.

When are you going to fix the TAB problem--festering 5 days and running. My business is suffering. When are you going to realize that one of your techies did something unintentionally that has to be *remade now* and this has to be priority one
Calling your phone # in the Phillipines is a waste of time. This is a serious back office issue and nothing you're doing is working.

Password Manager is flaky as heck. Currently it is not working. Sometimes it does. I have turned it on, turned it off, cleared cache, cookies, browser and download history. Turned off my security software, rebooted, restarted etc... I deleted a bunch I had in case I had to many. NOTHING WIL MAKE IT WORK AGAIN JANUARY 14, 2026. I created a bug report, but, as usual, AOL never responds to my requests. And I'm a paying AOL Desktop gold user. This is poor, poor poor performance for any company.

I can not change the privacy controls on the dashboard no matter if I change browsers, turn off the VPN, etc. It says "OH NO Were were unable to process your request. START OVER.
Crazy, I've tried it through the desktop and mail.aol.com as well. Nothing works. I called into the helpline and spent forever talking with them about it. This was their best suggestion to submit feedback. PLEASE FIX!

When I delete a contact, it goes back to the top of the list. This is not ideal when deleting multiple contacts since I need to scroll down every time I want to delete a new contact.
I worked with AOL tech support and they said that this feature is not available. I think it will be better to have an option in the future to select multiple contacts that we want to delete (same as we do on emails). -

I pay for aol gold, but the continuous loading of videos on the middle of the home page slows down everything and make the "aol not responding" message stay on most of the time. Using any other application is also slowed as aol hogs all the bandwidth. I'm having to close aol to be able to use other applications and have been switching my work to firefox and chrome. If you want me to continue paying, you need to fix this pronto.
