Ads
I see you've made the ads side bar larger with no way to make it smaller, only to reduce the size of my email space. This is unconscionable.? Soon it will just be big ads and a little space to read our emails. Plus we can't eliminate these ads. Any ideas how to keep this decades long time client?

I TOTALLY AGREE! To open the "read" icon and be able to see the entirety of the subject line means my entire screen is covered because of these ads! AOL, I mean no disrespect, but you've put ads everywhere in your software! Can't you cut us some slack?

Why on one email address I have no ads when I open my email but the other is that huge space on right of emails which makes it difficult to read my emails? Why can you not make this uniform across all emails addresses used? I pay good money for this.

this complaint was made in May 2025...why is it still a problem? Why am I paying for ads? fix this already. My other AOL email does not have this problem...no ads, no side panel...what is going on?

The ads and the "not responding" is ridiculous. I pay dearly for Gold and don't want or need to see ads. I have 2 emails through AOL...one shows ads and the others does not. Why is that? Just return it to what it was.

That's why AOL stands for Advertising On Line

I thought paying for Gold eliminates ads...what is happening? Actually didn't have ads yesterday but today I do...what is wrong with you people? Do you test anything you put out?

I pay for AOL Gold in part not to be bombasted with online ads. The enlarged ad bar on the right of the inbox is obscene. Go back to what it was or eliminate it please. ALSO..the ads that are show there are sometimes for distasteful products showing women and men in underwear and bras. I have clicked on and submitted every one of your Ad Choice options for months with no relief.

Many of us pay for AOL Desktop Gold ($69. to $99. per year). Shouldn't that account for something -- or is it just about the $$$s instead of the subscriber experience?
What a great business plan for a service provider!
BTW: My AOL Desktop Gold crashes once a week. -

Desktop Gold is a paid service.
Shouldn't there be a way to reduce or eliminate unwanted ads? -

I totally agree. I have been with AOL a very long time but suddenly the small size on email is TOO SMALL. And the ads are much bigger. Please put it back to the way it was before. Thanks.

AOL has suddenly forced not one, not two, but MULTIPLE ads to the right of each e-mail panel—and you made them considerably larger as well—to the point that all e-mails are now of a minuscule size.
As I've said before, you can never have too many ads—and as large as you can possibly make them—right, AOL?
Why don't you just come right out and say it? You want to get rid of all your long-time loyal customers and become exclusively a huge ad platform. Trouble is, you won't have anyone left to whom to advertise.
Ever think of that, AOL?
To those of us who can't help noticing (ALL of us), you're already well on your way to becoming one massive advertising platform.
Best of luck with that. You'll need it.

As of May 20, 2025 the AOL Gold Desktop advertising area became enlarged, right hand side/Column, with no way to minimize or revert back to smaller space. As a Paid membership, Not appreciated nor welcome Revert Back previous advertising space allotment.

When checking my new mail, the ads on the right are so large now, they're cutting off my unread mail. Is there a way to shrink them? The decrease arrows do not work to make them the size they once were. Don't want to pay extra for ad free service, have been using and paying for AOL for over 20 years.

The ads on the mailbox area have gotten bigger while my email display has gotten smaller. Not happy with this change since I pay for my AOL desktop every month. This is making me reconsider my chose for email. Thinking of quitting AOL. Rediculous!

Saw this already posted but 'Closed" ??? -- Unable to reduce size of AD sidebar in Mail... Did you think we wouldn't notice? With a vision impairment, and on a laptop, this AD sidebar doubling in size is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. And one who's membership goes back well over 26 years. Bring BACK the slim AD sidebar so it infringes less on the mailbox in Gold!
