    Try to clear the Footprints.

    Here’s how :

    a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    In most cases this issue is caused by the local spam settings on your AOL account. To check your spam settings, and make the necessary adjustments to prevent this from happening again, click on the ‘Mail’ menu on the top left, and select ‘Block Unwanted Mail’ from the drop-down menu. Check the block list (Sender Filter), and if you find your email address in the list, remove it, and click ‘Save’ at the bottom.

    If this is not the case, please check the incoming mail and junk mail filters, in the mail applications that you are using (e.g. Outlook, Mac Mail, Windows Mail, Thunderbird or mobile email application).

  5. OMG! Herlp me get rid of that background from your last relese

    OMG! Help me. I wasn't supposed to get the new background chooser because I am not Beta. I got it and tried it and now I can't get rid of that background that covers my entire screen. Please tell me how to undo it. I don't want any backgrounds. Your explanation was not clear. I did not know it would cover the entire screen. I thought it meant that you can choose a different background for each email you write! HELP!

    To remove images from the list (which eventually will become items used in slideshow) if you hover over a tile, a trash can appears, clicking on that removes it from the available images for background, it doesn’t delete the original file.

  6. My AOL Desktop Gold was not available and I called AOL to fit it. Now they have deleted all my data (folders and emails) since AOL Gold was

    All my folders and mails were deleted by the tech when I called in to have my AOL Desktop Gold reinstalled. The old files from the old AOL system are there but everything since AOL Desktop was installed are gone.

    I am very upset and all I hear from AOL is sorry, can't do anything for you.

    Restarting your computer, modem and any home networking equipment, will help your computer get a better connection. Follow the steps below: 1. Shut down your computer. 2. Unplug the power cord from your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem, and router (if you have one). 3. Wait 30 seconds. 4. If you use an external modem, plug the power cord into your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem. 5. If you have a router, plug the power cord into your router. 6. Turn on your computer.

    Since the March 4, 2019 update 11.0.2197, my AOL Gold 9.8.2 has shut off many times per hour. Task Master shows AOL using 55% of my memory and 98% of the disc when this happens. I called your tech support on March 8 and was told to uninstall/reinstall AOL Gold. This has not helped. What is happening with this new OATH update?

    Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into this issue. To do that, please follow these steps:

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.
    3. Type a short description of the problem, and click Send.

  9. Have agents on standby to chat about problems OR do not advertise you do !!

    Your so-called chat option is dysfunctional, no agent ever responds!!

    To add a photo in the email signature open the picture in a Photo Editor (we recommend Microsoft Paint), and after using the Selection tool to select which part of the photo you want in your signature, copy the selection using the Copy function in your photo editor, or with the CTRL+C keys on your keyboard.

    After copying the photo selection go to the Set Mail Signatures option in AOL Desktop Gold, and paste the photo in the signature compose window by using the CTRL+V keys on your keyboard.

In addition the spell check will underline in red and when clicking show correct spelling, but often not make any spelling change when the correct word is clicked on and it goes back to print or working page, leaving the incorrect spelling with red underline. Perhaps now you can fix all herein reported. The only  thing I can count on working consistently with AOL currently is every month you take payment out of my account on time.     The engineering team is aware of the spell check issue in AOL Desktop Gold, and is working to resolve this in the next software updates.

    Regarding the McAfee subscription issue, one of our senior agents will reach back to you as soon as the issue is resolved, in order to install the McAfee antivirus.

  12. chat rooms down AGAIN

    Again, your cat rooms are down and people cannot access them. Your service is terrible as of late. Last time this happened I was on the phone with an AOL tech for 45 mins as I was continued to be lied to over and over by people who have no business being called techs...

    I worked for a company called the Radio Mall. In 1995, I set up the email address theradiomall@aol.com. I no longer work for the company, so not only do I not need that address, I am not entitled to have it anymore. So, I tried to delete it. Well.....

    I signed on to that address to delete it. It took a while, but finally, I found something that said that I had to go to the main email/master account and delete it from there. So. I went there and I eventually found something that said I had to be…

    In case you have an active Advantage Plan, or if it was cancelled less than 90 days ago, you cannot close a Master or Designated Master Account (you can delete only sub-accounts). Once you have canceled an Advantage Plan and 90 days have passed, you can follow the steps from the article below to close the Master or Designated Master Account.

  14. AOL One Point is not compatible with Desktop Gold or Edge. Only with Chrome. You call this a benefit?

    Your tech, Zak tried to find an extension for Aol One Point for Desktop Gold and also Edge. He found One point was not Compatible with either browser, only Chrome. This is ridiculous. Who was asleep at the switch? Please correct this. Otherwise remove One Point because it is not a benefit or else sate its limitations

  16. Tab Key in Email

    I have always been able to use the tab key to indent in an email. Just a few weeks ago, this ability disappeared without warning. Now, pressing the tab key erases everything I've typed and returns the cursor to the upper left corner. Dumb idea!! If you needed to disable the tab key, why not just make it so the key no longer responds instead of erasing things? Either restore the tab functionality, or just don't let it reverse and erase.

    Before pressing the Tab key, make sure the text is not highlighted. When indenting the text, place the cursor in-front of the paragraph, and press Tab.

    AOL and Yahoo are now a part of the same company, and so we were able to make this process very easy for you!
    We highly recommend migrating your content over to Yahoo Portfolios, because of its robust finance platform. Yahoo Portfolios is free and easy to use! It’s a part of Yahoo Finance. If you’re not already familiar with it, Yahoo Finance offers really helpful features for its members like:

    - real-time market data
    - relevant original and partner content, and
    - a continually expanding set of financial data.
    It also provides members access to global financial market data, commodities, currencies, indices, and cryptocurrencies.

    Please follow the steps below to make sure the greeting sounds are enabled:

    1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold and sign in.
    2. Click on the ‘Edit’ menu on the top left.
    3. Select ‘General Settings’ from the drop-down menu.
    4. Go to the ‘Personalization’ section on the left.
    5. Select the ‘Sounds’ tab.
    6. Click on ‘Enable All’ (changes are saved automatically).

    Hi there, in case you are still experiencing issues accessing your AOL Calendar in AOL Desktop Gold, we recommend updating the favorite for the calendar. To do that type calendar.aol.com in the address box, and press Enter, and after the page has fully loaded, click on the heart icon on the top right corner of the web-page and select ‘Add to Favorites’. You can also add a shortcut for the AOL Calendar in the AOL Desktop Gold’s toolbar, by following these steps:

    1. Sign in to AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click the ‘Add a Fav’ icon from the Toolbar.
    3. Type ‘Calendar’ into the Search for a shortcut box.
    3. Left-click on the Calendar shortcut and select ‘Add to Toolbar’.
