  1. Cannot Get E-mails

    I need to know how to get these e-mails (PClark@ccmetro.org and CGriffith@ccmm.org) to be in my inbox and not go to SPAM. I've even gone to the SPAM folder and clicked "this is not SPAM." They are both in my address book at least twice. Help!

    Emails will be tagged as a spam depending on the behavior it was sent or on the spam controls of the recipient. If there are links, images or phrases that AOL Mail service deemed as a spam based on the complaints of other members, it will automatically go to spam folder. If the mail was sent as a mass mail, it will automatically go to spam folder as well.

    By marking messages as Spam or Not Spam you are customizing your personal Spam filter to learn what is spam and what is not.
    AOL spam controls filter email for possible spam, even before the mail reaches your Inbox or Spam Folder.

    Also, please make sure that these senders are added to your address book.

    Although you can back-up your favorites to a file, by clicking on the Manage button in Favorites then selecting Save, the .fav file format in witch the favorites will be saved, can be opened only with the AOL Desktop.

    Make sure that your tech support personal can communicate to customers the language barrier is almost impossible to understand and troubleshoot. Disappointed in the AOL Gold very slow was not ready to roll out and no communications from AOL to alert users about these issues.

    To resolve slowness and performance issues, please try the troubleshooting solutions below:

    1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    2. Restart the computer. This helps clear the internal memory (RAM), which often resolves…

    When clicking on a notification in Aol.com, it doesn't go to it and only displays a blank page.

    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

The last version of AOL let me delete my browsing history during browsing by just clicking on “Edit”, clicking on “delete browsing history” and then “yes”. Now when I click on “Edit” I am sent to another page with several choices, which is very confusing. PLEASE BRING BACK THE EASY WAY TO DELETE BROWSING HISTORY DURING THE BROWSING SESSION!! Drop the Gold and bring back the last, best version!!!!

    To clear your browser footprints in AOL Desktop Gold, click on Edit on the top left, go to “Select footprints to clear”, and after checking the three option available click on the Clear Footprints button.

    The mailbox list should return to the default order after you closed the software.

    An easier way to see the emails arranged by date is to click on the Date header on the top of the mailbox list. The column header will display an up arrow to indicate the list is being sorted in ascending order or a down arrow to indicate the list is sorted in descending order.

  7. Return to old system

    AOL user for over 20 years. The e-mail now sucks as well as the "favorites". the e-mail keeps stating "loading" but nothing happens. It keeps refreshing and makes it difficult to open an e-mail because it keeps moving. Favorites are now arranged alphabetically. I would like to have control of how they are displayed. When i write a new e-mail, in the address block the complete address book appears. i don't want that. I'm now paying for something that I no longer like?

    To make sure the Content Filter is not blocking important emails, please follow the steps below and remove any common used words and phrases from the content filter.

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and Sign on.
    2. Click on “Mail” on the top left and select “Block Unwanted Mail” from the drop-down menu to open the Spam Controls.
    3. Remove any common words and phrases from the “Block mail containing specific words and phrases” section.
    4. Click Save Settings.

    Click on Mail > Mail Settings > un-check “Confirm before deleting items” Changes are saved automatically.

    Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.

    You can manage your AOL pop-ups by going to the Edit tab, then to Browser Settings and from here to Pop-ups. By checking the radio buttons you can manage your preferences, you don’t need to save your settings, this is done automatically.

    I Just install Aol desktop Gold and it shows that I have 3321 unread emails which impossible because I regularly check my mail, when I had the older version it was only 300 Unread emails I don't have time to read mark everything as read. please fix this

    You can select all your unread emails by pressing CTRL + A and then click on “Mark Unread”.

    To add links to favorites, please follow these steps:

    1. Open your favorite website in the AOL Desktop browser.

    2. In the top right corner of the webpage, right-click on the “Heart” shaped icon then select Add to Favorites / Add to Toolbar / Insert in Mail from the drop-down menu.

    When I go to my SENT emails, they are not listed according to date. They used to be, but now it is almost impossible to find the correct email to resend it again. Please change this horrible problem.

  18. Secure Web Sites???

    I noticed that bill paying sites no longer have the secure lock icons since the change to Gold!!! I thought the biggest excuse for eliminating the old AOL program ie: 9.8.2 was to improve security! So the question is, just how secure are some of the web sites??

    I have to chime in with so many others who have complained: I HATE GOLD AND WOULD LIKE THE OLD PROGRAM RETURNED

    When visiting secure websites (HTTPS) you will see a yellow lock to the left of the URL in the address box, indicating that the website is secure. The yellow lock will not show if you are accessing regular HTTP websites.

    I know how to add different signatures in email using AOL desktop version but how do you add a signature when using AOL Mail in either Chrome or Firefox browser?

    mybenefits.aol.com.

    2. Under “All Products,” scroll to “AOL Desktop Gold.”

    3. Click Download Now.
