Remove the white box that opens up on AOL opening screen suggesting I use Internet explorer and make AOL my home page.
I have AOL as my opening page and use internet explorer. There is a white box that opens in the middle of the opening page suggesting to make AOL as opening program with internet explorer. This white box usually disappears after a few seconds but now it is not. I cannot sign on to AOL because the log in is gray. However, my AOL news and pictures are running behind this white box. Can someone check into this. I love aol and internet explorer as i have a library of favorite web sites that I use.
To add/remove as your home page you can follow the steps in this article: https://help.aol.com/articles/how-to-make-aol-com-your-home-page-in-windows-10

Phishing scams happen when you receive an email that looks like it came from a company you trust (like AOL), but is ultimately from a hacker trying to get your information.
Many times, these scams initiate from an unsolicited email. If you do end up getting any suspicious or fraudulent emails, make sure you immediately delete the message or mark it as spam.

We’d love to offer free phone support to everyone, however, free phone support is an expensive service to maintain for a free service.
Most free email providers do not have any option for phone support. We care about our users, and wanted to be able to have phone support for those who want the live agent experience, and have worked hard to put together a plan that has value for everyone in order to achieve that.

AOL news feed image/text sync problem continues with Firefox browser
In my experience, news feed problem described in an earlier posting has never been fixed since first reported in early 2019 and continues to be a problem to the present day.
The problem continues to occur with Windows 8.1 running Firefox 72.0 browser with AdBlock-Plus ad-blocker extension.
The problem does not occur on the same PC with Chrome browser and does not occur with Internet Explorer browser, both of which are also running AdBlock-Plus ad-blocker.Previous posting:
Fix the main news feed! The picture advances, the story doesn't!
The text remains and the pictures advance.

Improve customer service!
In July 2018, we asked for our account to be deleted. We followed the instructions and could not delete account. They said that if we did not go into the account at all, it would be deleted (did not say suspended). Yesterday, we called AOL and asked if the account was deleted and they said no, because we were still getting unwanted e-mails. After 57 minutes on hold and on the phone with Sebastian, there finally was a quick fix that took less than a minute. I kept asking to speak to a supervisor to no avail. This truly was…
Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your feedback.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience. It’s certainly our expectation and desire that you receive the highest quality service when working with customer support. We’re sad to hear that it sounds like you did not.
Rest assured that we’ve captured your complaint and will make sure your experience is shared with others in an effort to prevent this in the future.

When you see incorrect local information (such as the news or weather for a different location) on your Welcome Screen, you may want to verify your location is correct. This can be done by making sure your correct City, State is in the top left of your Welcome Screen.
If it is not, please click “Update Your Location” under Local News and Weather, enter your Zip Code and press Save.
If this does not work, please clear your cache, cookies, and history.
Here is an article for instructions: aol.it/1KTJUg6

Email Forwarding is Unacceptably Buggy and needs to be Fixed.
When I forward an email, the entire list of my folders and the entire contents of all of the emails in my inbox (in plain text) is also included before the actual email that I was trying to forward. This exposed a great deal of personal information in an entirely unintended and unacceptable way.
This sounds like an important issue that needs to be taken care of right away. In order to find out exactly what is happening we recommend you to give us a call at 1-800-827-6364. The issue might be something that needs to be investigated.
