Give us back the 9.8 features in Gold
Bring back desktop themes, stationery and emojis for mail, allow us to set up Favorites like we want them, make icons for toolbar available. Most of the time when I'm typing a e-mail, the type doesn't keep up with me and thus missing letters or words. Give us back all the features of 9.8 because Gold is seriously lacking most everything.

Agree strongly with the many others who ask: Why am I being charged for Gold but still being bombarded with ads and other commercial pitches? Bring back 9.8!!!!

Bring back AOL 9.8.2, Drop GOLD; then, if AOL insists on change: send out a WELL ORGANIZED LIST of suggested ideas for upgrading AOL to all the paying customers for our feed back AND ask the AOL Customers if they/we have any additional suggestions. I think you will lose fewer customers and have happier customers if you do it that way.

Why a I paying a monthly fee for a beta version that is full of bugs and is missing some of the most valuable features? There was nothing wrong with the last version of aol I was using. Bring it back.

Regrettably I find myself joining the many subscribers who see AOL Gold as a step back from the usefulness of Desktop 9.8. Previous valuable features have been lost, and new features are problematic.
Here are some specifics that I’ve identified since installing AOL Gold in January. The placement of ads is objectionable. I presume that AOL imagines it’s increasing its value to advertisers in forcing eyeball attention by enlarging the ad window and moving from below the text window to the right side. But I’m a paying subscriber (I know, a dinosaur, but I still need a dial up ISP for use at a remote vacation location) and the visually blaring ads are a nuisance.
AOL seems to slid off entirely to a cloud-based approach, in that the Saved on my PC e-mails, even if they’re actually saved there somewhere, are accessible only if I’m logged on. Seems like a contradiction in terms.
The new software is a processing hog, and slows down other open processes.
The Write mail screen seems to have some spurious double-spaces embedded in it. When I paste text from Word that has a single line space after a paragraph, AOL Gold converts that to a double line space.
Also, Reply messages sometime start with a spurious blank line, and even original messages sometimes insert an extra line after the carriage return after the first line, as if there were an embedded template that assumes there should be a blank line after the saluation before the actual text begins.
If I’ve opened e-mails, they are marked as read, but I can’t get them out of my New Mail view by clicking the New Mail tab as before, but need to open another tab, and then go back to New Mail.
I can’t use the keyboard to toggle through the sign-in process, but have to use the mouse to use the password screen.
Edit Undo does not work for text pasted into an e-mail from another application, like Word.

All areas of use on my AOL internet have been thwarted, made more difficult for use, etc. PLEASE let me know how I can immediately get back to the way my AOL was set up before changing to Gold. I MOST DEFINITELY DO NO LIKE IT, DO NO WANT IT, WISH TO HAVE IT REMOVED AND BROUGHT BACK TO THE WAY MY AOL WAS SINCE I STARTED SOME 20 YEARS AGO. ALSO, WHY WAS I TOLD I HAD NO CHOICE, THAT MY AOL WOULD NOT FUNCTION WELL ANYMORE WITHOUT THE CHANGE TO GOLD, WHEN OTHERS ARE TELLING ME THEY'VE NEVER BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT ANY SUCH CHANGE.

What did you do fix your site while I was writing my diatribe?
At least I can get to my emails and print out. -

I see your company still hasn't fixed the issues with your recent upgrade.
Surprised that you're still a viable ISP, I used your services since the early 90's until 2000, when better options became available. I also can't believe your charging for this inferior service.
Forced to use your services because my employer swears by you, she told me she's used you since she was young. (stupid millennial)
Since I can't use the Desktop Gold app, she told me to use Google Chrome to access your site. That method is a joke because I'm unable to view the mail page the same as Gold. Can't view the "new" emails only, without all the other "read" emails showing up. I can't copy, paste and print emails through those means either, which is important because that's how we access our emailed invoices from customers.
Who wants an invoice with all the headers and email addresses attached? And forget about Mozilla Firefox, AOL doesn't even load through that method
Also, maybe if you got rid of all the ads, especially for PAYING customers, it may run better.
Currently trying to talk her into switching to another provider, because once again your services are a joke.
What happened, did all the smart techies go to other companies? -

Ditch AOL Gold until it's ready for use. It is the worst I have seen and, in the meantime, don't charge the users.

AOL Gold goes "Not Responding" on both my laptop and desktop, or it simply stops working with no indication of a problem. It's also slow to display mail.

Why so many "re's in the subject line when you email with someone?? I have to keep removing them when replying.

AOL GOLD IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST. The 9.8.2 had issues, yes. Lots of them...but this is not an improvement. It's a DISASTER. Seriously! It's slow. It's annoying. It's just plain awful. I can't stand it. And judging by the enormous number of "members" who agree with me, neither can they. Either go back to the older version, with improvements, or lose the rest of your subscribers. And with good reason.

What a bunch of jerks. After paging through all the ads you get to a video that says This video is unavailable. Start complaining to the advertisers since AOL doesn't give a **** about their customers. They'll pay attention to lost revenue.

Not sure how things could have gotten so messed up, but any time i opened an earlier version of AOL software, it had a *solid* feel to it, as if i had an iPad or something that I'd just plunked in front of my screen. Now it comes in all broken in pieces and closes out the same way -- like some newbie's first shot at creating a web page.
And yes, the whole thing is slow to respond. Click on the email icon, nothing. Click again, the mail finally comes up. Click on a piece of email, nothing. Click again, and sometimes again, and it finally comes up. (I have no trouble anywhere else on the web, so it's clearly not my machine.)
Please fix this or maybe go back and leave "Gold" behind until it can actually be "Gold."

Why is the word "Re" added again and again in the subject lines when emailing back and forth with someone? Eventually there are so many "re's" that the email title is obliterated.
