Give us back the 9.8 features in Gold
Bring back desktop themes, stationery and emojis for mail, allow us to set up Favorites like we want them, make icons for toolbar available. Most of the time when I'm typing a e-mail, the type doesn't keep up with me and thus missing letters or words. Give us back all the features of 9.8 because Gold is seriously lacking most everything.

Sorry AOL,I'll sit through a 30 sec ad before a video but not 1 minute. Yesterday a 2 minute ad popped up before a video. Click.

I agree with every single comment & suggestion.
*Reiterating my post which was closed by AOL:
SCALE TOO LARGE!
Toolbar is huge!
Nothing fits in my Sony laptop screen anymore, despite switching to highest resolution possible!Only program or app I'm using or have used, that is in such a giant unscalable form. Why?
The old version was near perfection & worked great, looked good for years.
We must dump AOL after 20? years if this is the new AOL.

1) Why do we need "Inbox" and "New" mail tabs?? "New" is all that is necessary! 2) Copy and paste doesn't work as well as it did in the past! 3) No "edit picture" or "resize picture" by percentages in "write". Why change something that worked and everyone was happy with? 4) Where are all the font choices that were available with the old version? Whoever thought these changes were good ideas, needs to be fired! I also agree with every single post attached to this complaint!!

FIX THE SOFTWARE !!! Where did the ability to group addresses go ?
Why are changes made to address book entries not remaining ?- they then revert back to previous format. Mostly it is the prime email link that keeps changing. -

I am writing here because I don't know where else to send AOL comments and complaints. I agree with the person who wrote above. My font and text sizes sometimes remember my settings and other times do not.
My current complaint is with your headlines and "news" articles. Who is writing them? Does anyone proof read them for mistakes and content? It looks like high school students are writing them. First of all, usually only the first five - maybe- articles are actually new and all the rest just keep rerunning. Sometimes I see articles that ran a year ago. Today I just saw an article that was so glaringly wrong - and ran a couple of weeks ago. Now you're running it again?!! It says something about Reagan's scandals in office in the headline with a picture of Nixon and the article is about Nixon. DOES NO ONE ON YOUR STAFF KNOW WHICH PRESIDENT IS NIXON AND WHICH IS REAGAN? Seriously, someone needs to be fired. -

Are you getting the idea that GOLD is a debacle and belongs in the same dumpster as Windows 8 and the Edsel?

you took away all the older aol's. not everyone's computer will run the aol gold. and they can not afford to go out and buy a new one. so just your simple aol gold mail is not worth paying for. put all the stuff that was in the old aol's into the aol gold and be the number 1 again. right now you are a big FAIL.

Ease of use is my main complaint! AOL is no longer the user friendly program it's been since its inception!
* It takes forever to launch...several minutes and often requiring more than one attempt.
* Once it's finally up and running, listing email messages is another wait wait wait (several minutes vs "click! There it is!
* No longer can set window size and position to remember for subsequent sessions -
* The program doesn't load "full screen"
* No option to open email at startup (email: that's why I use AOL!)
* Option to "ignore" email messages.
* Moving email to folders doesn't close the email (can't tell if it's been saved or not)
* Cannot switch screen names from the "sign Off" menu - have to sign off, sign back onto another screen name.Unlike desktop version 9.8 (and ALL previous versions I've used since the beginning), Desktop Gold is slow to launch and I sometimes have to close and try more than once before it renders. Takes several minutes to list mail (wait wait wait through "not responding") and opening the first message can take as long as five minutes - so I walk away and do other things. Usually give up, close it and use the old version or my mobile app. Since you decided to block access to 9.8, I don't even have that option now. I'm paying $19/month and waiting-waiting-waiting for this beta version to work as well as the old one did???? I can't read, "ignore" or navigate easily between my email messages -and EMAIL was the original purpose of AOL!
Basically, "building from the ground up" is forcing PAYING users to beta test a flawed product.
(I apologize in advance if this comment is posted twice - it's still showing on my screen with the "post comment" button below it) -

Gold is terrible.... on sendng e-mails the additions of special holiday or sentiments are no longer available and the emogees are ugly. In the first week I would get error message and then freeze up, tried to call AOL and the wait time was ridiculous probably because everyone was calling to complain. When I was transferred my task bar was not forwarded, and the tech deleted my old version of 9.8.2. I lost valuable contacts!

Desktop Gold is extremely slow and choppy...windows I adjust keep reducing in size every time I delete or anything and I have to resize them. This is not an improvement, but seems like very bad programming..not up to standard...sigh...I have to agree the old AOL was far superior.
