I'm suddenly getting slammed with hundreds of spam and phishing emails. I've had over 100 today alone help. I can't stop to unsubscribe from them all and the spam folder isn't taking them. I don't have these problems with Gmail?

I too am getting spam emails non stop like in the last few weeks. What the heck is going on with aol? Do i need to move all emails to gmail and rid aol? Why is aol not doing anything in regards to their poor filtering? I'll have to move things over to another email account and close aol account if this continues. Thanks aol for your ****** service.

this morning I had 64 spams in my inbox in aol and the settings for spam are gone! What's going on? I had my settings to allow only mail from my contacts but that option is gone.

Have they even tried to investigate who the crooked employees are?

The ironic thing is that most spam are coming FROM yahoo accounts which is under same parent company as AOL. So we have people at Oath stealing address from one side and selling them to people who use the other side to send the junk out. So far I'm not impressed with Oath and if any company deserves to go down in flames, it's them.

Been with Aol since they started. 5 email addresses. Suddenly they are all getting slammed with spam. It's obvious some people on the inside are dirty and selling addresses. Going to cancel my AOL account after over 25 years.

Where is a response from AOL? It seems this is happening to a lot of people, with no help from AOL.
The response I get from friends is “why are you still using AOL?” -

I got fed up with being inundated with spam. Today I forwarded every one of them to
aol_phish@abuse.aol.com
I've 50 filters (the max) and even those aren't working! -

I had the same problem. Saw an article today with this tip- Go to Options/Mail settings. Use Filter (instead of SPAM setup) and filter out message body containing "Unsubscribe" (since almost all the junk mail contains that word at the bottom). Move to folder *** (I set up a "Filter-Unsubscribe" folder). I checked tonight, it worked like a charm! It's like catching a lot of fish in a net! I then scanned through them real quick to pull out some that got caught by mistake and moved them back out to my inbox. The rest I select all and throw them into Trash. That's a lot easier than before- manually processing each one of them!

I have no intention of agreeing to Oath . If it means I get blocked by AOL then great. I can't stand the liberalism anymore,

Why aren't emails I have blocked still showing up?

I forgot to say. My spam filter is already set up and it has always been set up.I can not block each of these spams. There are too many and every day they are different. My other screen name which I hardly use has even a larger amount of spams per day. Please do something about this. Aside from being annoying it is dangerous.

I have many friends, neighbors, and family on AOL and they are all experiencing this. What is going on?? AOL must have sold our names to companies and so the spammers have more places to look. This is horrible and if it doesn't stop we are all leaving.
I've been on AOL since the 90's.In all those years I'd get maybe one spam in my inbox and 2 or 3 in the spam box. Since AOL Gold I am getting an average of 20 spams in my inbox and 30-40 in my spam box.. This leaves a lot of chances for phishing and malware. IS THIS WHAT YOU MEANT WHEN YOU SAID AOL HAS IMPROVED SECURITY?
