why is there so much spam
Why is there so much spam coming through? I never had this much spam with the old version of AOL before Gold. And yes, my spam filter is turned on. Please improve the spam filter.

I noticed that about the time my spam INCREASED, advertisements for AOL spam software did to. Is this the plan?
I cannot find where to complain to aol and be listened to -

I have had similar ads 3 times. There are children in the house and I will not tolerate this. If this does not stop I will be forced to leave AOL.

Do not give sexually tinted ads to those who have never expressed an indication of wanting them. Just received an ad for Ashley Madison and am outraged that it was sent to me. Agree with the person who noted that so much more spam is getting through. Yuk!

I've unsubscribed from your list but keep getting personal email attacks. One more email from this PATHETIC company(words used from your staff) and I will fill harassment charges. The new spam that's bypassing AOL's filters is so OBVIOUSLY spam that I can't understand why it's not being identified and blocked! It's only 10:43 am and this is just a sample of what I found in my mailbox TODAY!

So it's NOT just me!! The tsunami of spam over the past week (two dozen+ per day?) is ridiculous! Some from the same domain -but how do you add an entire DOMAIN to your spam list??? In the time it's taken me to type this comment, TWO MORE arrived!!!

24 spam emails today (AOL Desktop Gold) that didn't go to spam folder. Spam filter is on. Never had so many in one day. So sick of this from AOL.

Please fix this. I consistently mark SPAM email and yet it doesn’t stop the spam. Very problematic!!!

I am having the same problem as "Anon" below! Same emails Keto, Home Morgage, "Amazon Prime". And my aol account on my phone only allows me to block 200 spam messages. Rediculous! Make it stop!

Yes, agree with the top post. I sent an email to feedback and they said they fixed it and indeed, it did seem to be mostly addressed for a week or so but now I'm getting 20 emails a day.
What I don't get is, if I send it to spam, shouldn't AOL also register the address/domain, etc and figure out how to block it? I mean how many "KETO" and "HOME MORTGAGE" or "AMaz0n PRIME" mails does it take from fhghdkhtkheht5500550@spammerscammer.com to figure out how to filter this out.
It's strange because AOL did a fine job before, arguably better than most mail systems.
"Oath" is the beginning of the end for it, I imagine.

So difficult to read stories now, I just gave up and went to Google news ... makes me sick after 20 years. What happened to our AOL?

On a 13" screen, I am given 1, that is ONE inch to read an article in between all the ads that pop up ... with "Blocking Pop Ups" ON!!! HATE HATE HATE AOL now.

Sick of so many ads. Can't even read an article. And so many ads slow down my computer to a crawl. I'm close to cancelling as well.

For years now I have been made fun of for still using AOL but I always defended it till now. It's a shame that I have to pay for a spam site. I will be ending my service. Just get rid of it. No other IP does what AOL does!!

I have also been an AOL customer for over 21 years. I have read all the comments on spam and agree with almost all of them.

Oath seems to me to be responsible. There was never a problem before the Oath pop up appeared, and it looked like it was saying privacy was not really a priority anymore for aol. I contacted customer service, which referred me to Setting where I was to enter the email addresses of every piece of spam separately. Maybe spammers have had some kind of breakthrough, because the same heading comes from different emails. Miss the old aol.....

I am disgusted. I've had AOL for years - and yes, I pay for it. That won't be happening for much longer. I can not put up with the spam and the ads that keep popping up over the stories I'm trying to read. Why did you have to make everything so difficult. I no longer even want to try to read the stories because of all the pop ups. I don't have enough hours in a day to try to read anything. A simple story will take 20 minutes to read when it should only take 5 minutes at most.

Any pop up advertisement is too much. Allowing unwanted and unwelcomed pop ups is bad business.
