Comment Section
Comment section doesn't show my Nickname automatically. I need to type it in manually. This problem doesn't happen before. I already talked to AOL's Technical Support and was advised to submit a feedback. My AOL Desktop Gold is updated.

AOL is a piece of garbage. I've been using it for over 20 years and NEVER had the kinds of problems that have popped up - coincidentally - since Verizon stuck its nose into AOL. Messages take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to appear...SENDing takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r...
I have written REPEATEDLY to AOL without so much as an acknowledgment that they received my input.Apparently if there is anyone within AOL who could fix this piece of garbage don't have enough pull in the corporation to get the priorities right.
...and this is NOT my computer's problem. These complaints about error messages, stalls and no responses are plastered all over the internet. I refuse to author another detailed message because it's obvious AOL doesn't care.

Yeah, I was told this was the new thing but from what I have seen it goes back and forth all the time. Some times you have to type in your nickname and other times you don't. AOL is so screwed up!

Ads in support of the Trump "wall" are not appreciated. A great many of your customers do not approve of the "wall."

How is it that Facebook suggested I "Friend" the head of a law firm I used a year ago, when the only online contact we ever made was through AOL mail? Are you selling my information?

It's hard to get through a story without it getting all covered up with ads. It's so annoying. And why does each story start out as a guessing game. The stories are interesting but a person has to go through several pages before getting the answer to a question. There are so many stories to read but by the time one goes through "10 NEXT PAGE" I turn AOL off. AOL isn't going to change anything!!

WHY MUST YOU RUN ARTICLES ON THE KARDISAN'S. DO YOU THINK ANYONE REALLY CARES?
ALSO, WHY DO YOU HAVE 72 WELCOME SCREENS, MOST OF WHICH KEEP RUNNING THE SAME OLD STORIES WITH DIFFERENT HEADINGS -

Can you please AT LEAST answer our posts regarding this problem. It isn't being fixed and you are not even bothering to let us know WHY or IF it will get fixed. This happened a few months ago and was fixed, albeit briefly. Here we go again. j

As I recently posted,my nickname must be manually typed in each time I try to post in comments. This recently began out of nowhere. It does this in Desktop Gold,Chrome and Explorer versions. You sent a message stating this had been fixed but it has not. Please refer to my previous post for additional details.

A few days ago my screen name which is the default nickname for conversations at the bottom of articles stopped automatically logging in.What now happens is the same icon appears even with the green dot but no name loads,it loads as if it's anonymous, and with no log in button or indicator.I've tried this on Chrome,Explorer and Desktop Gold all with the same results.I'm trying to understand what has happened and what if anything can be done to fix it.I have more than one account name and it happens on all. Also,Autoweek magazine uses the same software for comments and I have no problem with them. Thanks for any help you can give.

Tired of waiting for YOUR ENGINEERS to fix the ability to post a comment without having to type my NICKNAME on the comment. This used to be automatically done. This is not the first go around with this issue. It got fixed for awhile and now we are back again. I resent having to pay for a service (AOL) that is not fixed half the time, or "on review" ....
AOL Gold was not ready for ********* and should suspend charging people for a service that is not serving in a practical fashion. My email takes AN HOUR to reach ANOTHER AOL member. That is not acceptable, either.
FIX THE **** COMMENTS/auto nickname PLEASE. -

I've been having the same problem and it's frustrating. I hope they fix it soon.

Every day is a new day and every day there is another AOL Gold Failure. Outdated news, mobile comments are gone, have to use a nickname to comment, missing mail, pages won't open or open to the wrong article, todays news 5 hours later, not enough news . . . run some from last year.
There is not enough room on the internet to list all the things you people are doing WRONG . . . -

Let m post a comment, I am unable to do so suddenly

Putting this under review means absolutely nothing.
It takes forever for AOL to respond/repair an incident such as this for their PAYING MEMBERS.
I was on a comment page on a news story. I still have to MANUALLY ADD A NICKNAME.
FIX IT!!!!!!!!

When responding to AOL News articles I am now required to manually type my screen name everytime. I am not getting any emails when individuals like or comment on my post, and I no longer have the Profile Icon so I can see the items I have posted. I chatted with your tech and all they ever say is uninstall Desktop gold. I did and it did NOT fix the issue. I called in and spent a lot of time with your rep and now they are saying it is an enhancement to AOL. Taking away features is NOT AN ENHANCEMENT!
Please get with your programmers and fix this issue!

Stop requiring NICKNAMES to be POSTED at every COMMENT on NEWS subject.
This annoying feature happens to frequently lately and is a total waste of AOL MEMBERS TIME.

my "nickname" no longer automatically appears when I want to comment on a News story! Yet, other people I know have THEIR names appear automatically! What's the deal?
