Article length
How about stating how many pages one has to click through until the final conclusion of an article. After 4-5 I give up.

Why are the issues described in this forum not being addressed. I completely agree. I am considering just canceling my AOL, because of the problem with trying to read an article that makes you click through a hundred pages of advertisements just to try to get the story. Im fed up with this, I used to go to AOL for news, now its just a bunch of advertisements

Boredom is the worst. I stop reading after the first page. I'm tire of clicking through page after page of ads.

It's a ridiculous waste of time. You can usually do a search find the same article in normal form elsewhere, instead of "munching on the trail of cookies" to the witches house! All the advertising you have to sort through is stupid, too. Wake up, Verizon and AOL!

I agree with all these commentors. Having to click to read each sentence or two and play "advertising pong" to avoid the pop up ads is insulting, annoying and a way certain to lose customers.

49 out of 50 times I will skip over articles that I suspect will have you go from page to page interminably to reach a simple conclusion. Before I got thoroughly disgusted I wasted many hours on such articles which in reality could have been more precise and interesting if condensed into no more than 2-3 pages, instead of 20 or more. And even if I wanted to read one of these tomes I'd decline knowing I'd be bombarded with commercial pop-ups making it excruciating to read.

I've stopped the "next page" game and google it and always find another source where I can read without the constant clicking.

I have been with AOL from the beginning and I am thinking of stopping service because of their annoying get rich advertisement scam. There are so many flashing advertisements around the articles it's shameful! People think I am crazy for paying for the service when others are free. I will never click on one of your articles again. There is enough confusion in the world without being bombarded.

I would love to read some articles, but when I see you have to click to continue, forget it! I have tried twice and after 30 clicks of reading one sentence per click, only to loose the finally! I don't know who is in charge of your programming, but, THEY NEED TO BE FIRED!

I realize the sole purpose of these features is for AOL & the vendor to earn advertising revenue, but there has got to be something in it for me to keep clicking. Just read one by taco relish (or something like that) with the right blend of ads & content. Just read another that I gave up on after 4 pages since it took almost a minute to load between pages because of excessive ad content. Assuming you want us to continue to be paid customers, you really should be more assertive controlling the amount of ads.

This is so aggravating .... trying to read an article! It is so slow and crazy trying to read an article. I'm ready to drop desktop all together because most articles are in this form. You need to get it straightened out. I know you make money with your ads but they are ruining our experience.

I agree with everything said below! I don't read the articles anymore either because of the time wasted to get to the point! Also, if I have to pay for aol, why do I have to get all those ads?

This is why I avoid reading "featured" articles; my time is wasted paging through these things and avoiding all the ads. Plus, those advertisers that are allowed to take up so much space go to the bottom of my list.

aol does this so they can post as many ads possible while you click,,next, next, next.....aol is total ****..i don't read the stories anymore so why even have aol

I google them and usually find them posted somewhere else that doesn't require clicking a dozen times.

I agree. And sometimes you click till the end and it never answers the first page post question you wanted to see. Also page jumps around and if you don't wait to click next you click an ad they want you to see. I hate when that happens. I too pay for AOL and want to be able to read an artile that interests me without going through next and next and next to read two sentences. Please fix this

I totally agree. If I click to read an article and I have to click NEXT to continue reading article, I just close out the article. I pay for AOL GOLD and shouldn't have to go through many pages to read a single article of interest to me!

I agree with this Anonymous comment. I hate to read any article by going "Next Page" all the time. The article is divided into many little bits of reading and it's very annoying. Please stop this "Next Page" format.
