why can't i delete more than only 1 email at a time now??

you can if the emails are consecutive.......highlight the first email you want to delete....hold down the 'shift' key and highlight how many emails that follow that you want to delete and then hit delete,.
If this worked before and no longer work, then I have no clue....it still works for me... -

To clarify what OP is saying, if you have multiple messages in mailbox view (inbox), it is not possible to shift-select more than one message and perform any action. Multiple select works in other folders like Trash but not in the Inbox anymore.
