    Get the email attachments working as before!!! And the same should be done with clearing cache & cookies. We had a procedure we had used before & it worked. You completely change that & NOT NOTIFY we, the users, as to what procedure we NOW must use. That makes more calls to your IT and very DISGRUNTLED paying users.     Thank you for your feedback, will send it over to the AOL Gold desktop team, making sure the features you mentioned become a priority and will be added in the future releases. Currently, we don’t have an estimated time frame, but we hope the majority of the features our members are asking for will be implemented soon.

    You can see if you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting " About AOL" from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.

    If the version is lower than 11.0.1589, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload.

    We can not replicate this issue. Beside the option to copy and paste from “Edit” menu, please try the keyboard combination Ctrl+C as copy and Ctrl+v as paste. If you still have the issue, one of our Technical Support agents will be glad to help you, please call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  4. AOL Gold. What needs to be changed. What is management thinking?

    The new sign in will not hold your sign on and password even though there is a place for it. It's easier to use google chome and its free!! Simply, It takes too long to get an operator on to cancel aol gold. Why would you want to chase away long term customers. it's difficult to attatch documents, and the 9.8 was user friendly. AOL gold was not well thought out. Is anyone from management listening? Please help!

    You can check the status of a sent email to see if it was received or read. Simply right-click on the sent email> Status.

  6. On the old AOL I could click a link once in an email I'd gotten and it would show up properly.

    To improve the AOL Gold, allow the user to be able to read links on the first click, as we were able to do on the old AOL. On the AOL Gold, I can click sometimes up to 10 times on a link I want to read, and this action will take me to a black blank screen or a white blank screen and sit there as long as I want to wait. Nothing is displayed. Then I have to go back to the link in the email and click it again, hoping of course to be able to read…

    Try to clear the footprints and try again.

    Here’s how :

    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

  7. Change smiley faces to the ones you had in the previous version. The ones in Gold are black and white, not fun, and just don't work. Pleas

    I have been a long time AOL customer. For 21 years. I was very happy with the previous version. It all worked. Now when a picture arrives, Gold won't let me reduce or resize or do anything with it. Gold took away my signature. Gold has dreadful smiley faces. Black and white, not fun, ugly. Please return to the previous ones or replace with the fun ones I get from senders. ASAP PLEASE!!!

  10. Everything on AOL is huge because they set resolution at 1280 x 720.

    Everything on the AOL interface and elsewhere on AOL is huge because they set my resolution at 1280 x 720. My resolution is 900 x 1600 which it is in other browsers and everywhere else. Because of this everything on the interface is so huge that the mailbox alone takes up 3/4 of the screen, I can only see a few of the mail listings without scrolling down, graphics I put in emails are larger than they really are which is ruining my graphics business, I can only see a few lines of the news at a time, and this…

  11. Improvements needed for Desktop Gold !!

    1. There are real problems with Desktop Gold – it should not have been released before they were fixed. Where is "Manage Favorites"? Can Favorites be stored on my PC?

    2. Some Favorites folders are missing on *****. How to recover? Unable to manage preferences on Desktop 9.8

    3. Security/Privacy Issue – If I log off with an e-mail and one or more web pages open, they are still visible if I do not exit Desktop Gold. If another user then logs on, they remain visible, so that the other user can read my e-mail and see the web pages I was on.

    We will send this to our Product Engineers and they will look into this to see if they can have these features added and bugs fixed in a future update or release of the software. Regarding the other features and functions that you have mentioned we will explain them below.

    The Manage Favorites feature is available, and you can use it by clicking on the manage button on the bottom of the Favorite Places window. The Manage feature provides an option to Save a copy of the favorite places in a file on your computer, to Replace your favorites with a back-up file, or to append a favorite file to your current list of favorites. Please note that the Save option will place a copy of the favorite places in a .fav file, which cannot be opened separately outside of the AOL Desktop Gold, and can be used only to…

    To adjust the window sizes, please follow these steps:

    1. Drag one of the four corners of the window to your desired size and position.

    2. In the top right corner of the AOL Desktop, click “Window” then choose “Save Window Size and Position” from the drop-down menu.

    Please note that the option to save the window size and position will not work if the window size is set to full screen.

  16. On the old AOL I could highlight email addresses to copy & paste into a new email. Gold does not allow this.

    I would suggest that AOL not introduce any upgrades until all the areas are working properly. This is more than frustrating. Go back to old AOL until issues are resolved.

    You can highlight and email address, from the header of the message, by placing the cursor at the end of the address and dragging it to the left (while holding down the left click). Additionally you can click on the email address from the message header and it will be automatically added in the To field of a new blank email.

    Also, please submit a bug report about the new emails jumping into the old box. To do so:

    1. Click the Help button on the top-right corner of the AOL Desktop window
    2. Select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu

    First you take away the ability to organize the favorites. Now you have removed the User ID's from the sign in screen. And the Add a New User does not work? And when you try and type an email, the address automatically goes into the body of the message. The problems go on and on. What are you doing?

    Thank you for your post. The product team is not planning to change the alphabetical listing of favorites.

    As you might have noticed we changed the login process in AOL Mail, to a more secure 2 step login, which helps prevent your AOL account from being compromised or hacked.

    To embed pictures in mail, first open a Write mail window, then click on the “Picture” button below the subject box, and select the picture you want to insert in the email. To resize a picture after it was embedded in an email, click on the picture, then drag one of its four corners to adjust its size.     Also you can change the color of the text from the Write mail window, by clicking on the arrow next to the first underlined A below the subject box. To change the background of the text, click on the second underlined A.
