  1. E-mail don't get answered because instead of my e-mail they get NOT Needed.

    Many of my e-mails go to people that, instead of my e mail they get NOT NEEDED. I have responds from three so far-CA, AZ and MS

  2. Master Screen Name Control

    What happened to the control for secondary screen names by the Master Screen name? Taking this control away from the account holder who pays for this service is a serious breach of parental oversight and has implications beyond that. This is another ridiculous change that gives every appearance of irresponsible and thoughtless conduct by AOL.

    In the past, AOL offered the ability to create secondary usernames linked to this Master username, however, as of November 30, 2017, the ability to add or manage additional usernames has been removed.

  3. Show me the 'hidden URL'

    In all other browsers, when I move my cursor over a 'marked' URL
    (URL hidden under text), the browser shows me the URL that is there.
    BUT - AOL GOLD does not.. I'm sure that the old version did.

    Click on the Weather icon on the carousel, or go directly to aol.com/weather and type the Zip code for the region you want to view the weather for.

  5. Spam Settings

    I accidentally marked a sender as spam. Where do I unblock that? Can I see if that sender is blocked?

    Go to Spam folder and if the email is there mark it as Not Spam. To find out if you blocked someone from the address book you have to access Spam Controls. Go to Mail from top bar and click on Block Unwanted Mail. If the email address is there, delete it.

  6. Why do you CLOSE out comments, in most cases, without telling us what you did to address the problem? or if it's corrected

    What do you have in your mind to CLOSE out comments, in most cases, without telling us what you did to address the problem and what you have found is the solution. AOL needs to take responsibility for the #$% Gold software that you KNOW isn't properly working. Your tech support has no support from YOU and thus can't answer or fix problems. It's not the tech person's fault but they are the one's who get the brunt for your poorly designed and disintegrating "service" and software. I'm paying for the service for the last years and Gold just keeps…

  7. How about showing a little love for your fee paying customers? 30 minutes on hold! All mail going into spam. No way to stop it and no AOL

    All mail goes into spam folder. Talked to your folks and they agreed after taking over my computer that any mail sent to me going to spam. They told me they were in contact with the high tect people and would be back in contact with me. Stay off the phone for the call... HA 4 days ago...I am a 25 years fee paying customer of AOL.. May not make 26!!!!

    Try clearing the Browser Footprints:
    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.
    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings.

    No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    Try to clear the footprints. To do that follow the steps below:

    a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    If you still encounter issues call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  10. why do you bother with "newsfeeds".....when I click on them to open up they draw a blnk pa

    how about putting an active link to the news feed....they come up blank right now. AOL is steadily going downhill...think it's time to switch to a more reliable source

  11. WHY DO I PAY FOR AOL IF IT KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN

    I HAVE CONTACTED HELP 5 TIMES AND IT STILL SHUTS DOWN ON MR. ALL THEY DO IS RELOAD IT AND DOES NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM.

    Please following the steps:
    1. Use ‘Help > Report a Bug > Report a Bug’ to let us know about the issue.

    2. Try the workaround:
    a. Edit > Select Footprints to Clear
    b. Check the ‘Browser Cache’ box
    c. Restart ADG

  12. AOL Desktop Gold (Not Responding)

    AOL Desktop Gold is not responding on my computer. The issue is intermittent. I can navigate for a while and then all of the sudden it will not respond. Contacted AOL Tech Support. We run System Mechanic, still no good. Checked task manager to checked CPU usage. AOL Desktop Gold is the most highest running program on my PC. Please check this problem. Thank you.

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.
    3. Type a short description of the problem, and click Send.

  13. why when it says "show caption" can't I see the caption? to much "junk" in the way

    when there is "show caption" , I am unable to see the caption because of the JUNK that is there. I want to read the caption not junk information that is totally useless.

  14. On the chatting site my comments are not displayed and nobody is able to see it. I would like to know if I am censored.

    When I comment on the article conversation site, my comments are displayed on my computer, but nobody else can see it. I would like to know if I am being censored.

    By default the top voted comments will be shown first. To change the comment listing, click on the ‘Sort by’ drop-down arrow at the top of the Conversation section, and select ‘Newest’.

  15. Permanently delete all trashed emails all at one time

    When I trash my emails, I would like to permanently delete them all at one time and not one at a time. I trashed them for a reason and having to delete them one at a time only aggravates my carpal tunnel syndrome. Thank you.

    Select one email from the list, and press CTRL+A to highlight all of them
    or choose ‘Select All’ from the Edit menu then press Permanently Delete.

  16. Complaining once again to the Government against AOL.

    Happened twice today when I make a post to my FB page from a newsfeed article....AOL FREEZES AND SHUTS DOWN MY FB! Looks like all of my complaints of this same problem for 1 year or more is being ignored and NOT fixed. I guess I have to file another complaint with the US Government again!

  18. Open search result in new tab

    New popup for search result (lower right of search window) is neither useful nor convenient. Too small to read well and a nuisance to resize. Please open search result in a new tab. If you simply MUST retain the unwanted popup please give user an option in Settings to suppress popup and open selected result in a new tab.

  19. aol doesn,t work it freezes over and over and your hep cannot fix it

    New AOL desktop gold freezes everytime I use it , been happening this issue for almost 6 months now . My computer performance is good, it only freezes once ADG is open. already tried to ask assistance and did all the troubleshooting that needs to be done , but still not working properly, it freezes all the time .

    You can add a category in AOL Desktop Gold, by following these steps:
    1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.
    2. Click on the Mail button on the toolbar, and select Address Book.
    3. Click on a contact you want to add to a category, then select the Edit option.
    4. Click on the ‘Auto-Added’ button on the top right corner of the Address Card window, and select ‘Add New’ from the drop-down menu.
    5. Type the name of the new category, and click ‘Add’.
    6. Click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the Address Card window.
    In order to delete a category, you will need to remove all the contacts from it, by editing the contact and adding it to another category (you can add regular contacts to the ‘General’ category).
    Please note, that the default category’s cannot be deleted (e.g. Auto-Added, Co-Workers, Family, Friends, Uncategorized, General).
