I just adding a comment about this today. I hate when an ad pops up and you can't even close it. STOP THE ADS. AOL Desktop Gold is not working. I was using the last Aol before this one bring it back. Another thing today is the last day that I'm going to read the news I'm stopping. I will go someplace else to read the news. I wish now that I could delete all the news.

OH yes, the ADS that I say "not interested, seen multiple times" follow me everywhere!!!!!!!
Where did google and aol get the idea I like cheap clothes? -

Looks like a lot of us tried to be patient and are now finding somewhere to say something. I kept trying and kept getting, "sorry, wrong people, go to Gold", which was where I started!!
I would like news~~and that doesn't include jawdropping nearly-naked starlets and the Kartrashians!! OR articles that are not updated on the minute during crises OR articles that can be read on one or two pages WITHOUT a thousand ads on every side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Please move advertisement to bottom of screen instead of the right side. It take up too much of my space.

You think you are so clever breaking up your news articles in many pages allowing you to show more ads to idiots who go along with this BS
Being a paying customer I think it is outright fraud.
I have adopted the simple solution----Don't read any articles.
Its great reduces my online time wasting since most of your articles bite anyway allowing me to do more meaningful things. You people really are losers

Before I am not seeing these ads whenever I signed in to my AOL Mail using Google Chrome.

So true but I don't think these AOL people are capable of fixing or changing most things. I think everyone needs to call Verizon who now owns AOL and calls the shots. Call them with the problems and tell them that if things are not fixed you will cancel AOL..... and Verizon Fios for phone and internet if you use them. That is what I plan to do.

"news" stories about animal abuse that only show ads and no articles, are just scary and are using us as PAWNS to sell inferior ****.
If it is under NEWS it should be NEWS from AP REUTERS CBS TV STATIONS NEWSPAPER. This prurient means to sell ads to us is immoral.

I may just get rid of everything I have from Verizon and go to Optimum. Since they took AOL over we have been bombarded with ads, Gold doesn't work and they do nothing about it and new problems appear all the time. You never know what is going to happen when you sign into AOL these days.

I just clicked to see the next news article at the Huffington Post and instead of an article the entire page was an ad for Macys. This has happened a few times over the last week. YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH ADS ALL OVER THE PLACE? AOL GOLD is getting more disgusting by the day with the ads but it's hard to believe they would put one in the space of an article instead of an article.

That's just one of the many problems with Gold! The 'Username' service isn't working right, at least not for me, nor does adobe flashplayer, nor do my window sizes "Save"! Plus, they dumped my "local" News! I agree that those ads are super annoying. They claim to need them for revenue to keep AOL in business. Do you honestly think they are Listening and going to do anything about all the numerous complaints? I haven't seen any sign of that yet!
