Cannot move items around in "Favorites" to their place in alphabetical order.

Even though they are not automatically placed in alphabetical order, you can move the item to where you want it placed. Find the entry you want moved, left click and hold down mouse button, then drag to where you want to place it. Worked perfectly for me. Hope this helps.

This morning, after many years, I'm no longer able to sort "My Favorite Places" numerically or alphabetically. What happened? The two tech support people could not help me. I've been sorting My Favorite Places every day for many years. Today it won't let me anymore. Why?

ALSO ALLOW ME TO PERMANENTLY DELETE ALL OF THEM AND ANY OTHER JUNK YOU THINK I WANT IN MY FAVORITES. ALSO REMOVE THE 'ALPHA LISTING' ALLOW ME TO MOVE WHAT I WANT AND IN MY ORDER OF IMPORTANCE.

4 - The saved file is encoded. If, as you suggest, someone sends me a file to append - HOW DO I KNOW what's in it BEFORE adding it???
This would be a great IDEA *IF* it were in readable text. -

1 - can't ARRANGE in the order I want. I prefer keeping my most used near the top in the order I use them. Now they are FORCED into alphabetic search.
2 - Too often, as I get 3 or more tabs open, adding another tab shows the wrong URL or a blank tab and no page - UNTIL I click the tab..
3 - ?WHERE is the "Add what I'm looking at" the old "Add this page"?
before it was a single click, now it's multiple copy/paste's -

Before the Gold Favorites Place's setting was changed recently, You appeared not to have known your Customer embraced the Aol even with a fee. I subscribed mainly to Aol Gold, because of your Favorite Places. You programmed the setting of Favorite Places by alphabetical order when you started the Aol Gold. I edit each one assigned a number before the name of a place such as 1Airlines. If I find a web about an airline seat Guro, I will save it under 1Airlines. If I wanted to list the several airlines' websites, I will save it under 1Airline. This is how it will appear in my Favorite Places:
1Airlines
• Seat Guro
• Cathay Pacific
• China Airline
2Merchandise
• Perfume
• Adidas Shoes
3Tax Matters
• 2018 Tax Changes
• FBAR
• Residency Define
•
The number before the favorite place is intended for two reasons:
1. It will eliminate a long list of main and sub-categories of favorite places if we only relied to alphabetical arrangement.
2. The most important of having a number under favorite place is for the Customer to have control of his favorite places. Example: If the number 2Merchandise is misplaced and stored under the sub-category of 3Tax M The Aol Customer can immediately notice that the number 2 is missing.
I hope you will reconsider the aforesaid suggestions. This is the way I arrange my favorite place since the 80’s. -

You destroyed twenty two years of my favorites and now I have to enter everything an second time to see what aol is putting it in as. Hundreds of favorites gone because you had an better idea. Why couldn't you have offered us an choice? Now I have to write everything down as I do not trust aol.

I have been an AOL user since 1984. Without mu knowledge or consent you recently screwed up my Favorite Places listing by alphabetizing it. I had spent 34 years getting it organized the way I wanted it, but now I have a hard time finding anything. Now you have suddenly eliminated all Spam Controls except by e-mail address. Since you wiped out all the word and other controls I had set up over 34 years I am now getting the same messages over and over from multiple e-mail addresses. Having e-mail address as the only filter simply does not work. So I am now besieged by hundreds of SPAM e-mails that I would not have received previously under the original SPAM control methods, which worked very well. Please return to the previous SPAM control methods IMMEDIATELY so I can continue to use AOL.

I don't want my Favorites alphabetized. I want important folders at the top, even if it begins with Z. And within each folder, I want to decide how to organize files. So many things about the old version of AOL gave customers so many more choices (like fonts!).

forcing the favorites folders to be in alphabetical order is one of the dumbest things that you guys have done so far ... why would you even think to do that ??? I want them in the order that I want them to be in order to make it easier to find/access them. give the customer a choice in settings to set how WE want it to work ... remember that we are the customer & you are here to provide a service that makes our lives better/easier & for us to want to use your services, not make it harder so that we don't want to use your services, if you want to retain your customers, or maybe nobody at aol even cares anymore.

When I put an item in Favorites, I can not find it. It will at that point alphabetize it and it is lost in my file. Previously it would go to the bottom of the listing.
In addition. I organize my favorites in a certain way. The computer will alphabetize them and they are not easy to sort thru. Example I want my common bank accounts on the top and least used on the bottom. or I want my travel sites in order of location from my home, the computer will alphabetize this also. Thus local trips are thrown throughout the file.
