I am using Firefox as my browser; like the other complaints here, a dialogue pops up saying I need to "update" AOL Desktop Gold. When I click on the AOL Desktop Gold, "Check for Updates" nothing happens.
Since AOL rolled out "Gold" it has sucked big-time. We are being used as "beta tester"; this POS is not ready for *********!!

problems are with Gold formatting + chrome browser - rebooting , reloading gold , clearing browsers , + etc. are what the techs do , BUT IT DOES NOTHING TO CURE THE AMATEUR development , formatting , outdated technology + ignorance that has been built into Gold !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not a specific website which always shows that message.
From a Chrome point of view it is an old version so it should be updated and be compatible with the rest of the software. -

I am having the same problem. In my case, I received a message from Ebay that due to the obsolete browser I can no longer close a sale.

I agree the update disappears. Gold is the worst!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot print and most times can not ever look at documents. I have spent hours on the phone with AOL. After 20 years with them I probably will have to leave.
Who is in charge at AOL?? -

Gold is not gold, it's a gold plated ****. IT DOESN'T WORK WORTH A **** ON DESKTOP COMPUTERS. I don't use a phone for this, I use a computer.
I WANT A FUNCTIONAL AOL BACK!

The included browser is very slow and old.
Periodically I get a banner indicating that it is an outdated version of Chrome. Why isn't Gold using the current version? I am paying to using outdated software. This is unacceptable. -

it amazes me that with this horrible product.. AOL GOLD DESKTOP, and all of the complaints, it is still foisted upon us, without any governmental agency looking at the issue, but instead looks away to where the money is. this is a travesty

Your AOL Gold is the worse desktop you have ever offered. It is slow, it freezes. You should offer one of the old desktop programs until you fix AOL Gold. The Internet is full of people ******** and complaining with the same comments - do you read them ? Most of us surmise - management won't allocate resources to fix your problems. I am sure you have lost many customers - you will lose more if you don't improve AOL Gold

I am not the one who wrote this complaint but I can tell you that I have received this notice from several different websites. Also, the JCPenney site does not always work right for me at times--- yet I never had this problem with their site when using Internet Explorer.
