Restore the old spam settings. Now we only have one setting.
First you took away stationery and vast choice of fonts, emojis, etc. Then you changed how mail is set up (from new, old, sent, spam, deleted mail to current style) and the Spam settings from numerous choices to only one (blocked). it seems the longer we continue to PAY for AOL Gold, the less we are getting for our money. I see by the Feedback that I'm far from alone in feeling AOL Gold does not seem "golden" to your PAYING customers.

I have had an AOL account and email since the late 1980's. The spam filtering has been excellent for decades until two weeks ago. Now 10-15 CLEARLY spam emails a day show up in my inbox (whereas previously there would be only 1 or 2. This indicates that something changed about 2-3 weeks ago (today is 10/27/2022) with the AOL spam filtering algorithm such that it is not working nearly as well as it used to work. Please fix this, as I pay for AOL for two main reasons, one of which is its previous excellent spam filtering.

It used to be that we could add addresses of the people sending us SPAM. That got taken away but was restored. When it was restored, we no longer had a "save" button on the page to add addresses. You can type the address on the SPAM page but it doesn't block the messages any longer.
NOW, you are given the option to identify valid emails on whether they are "safe" or not. That doesn't help the problem since I won't open the SPAM emails FOR ANY REASON to say whether or not they are "safe"
I've complained numerous times but this is never fixed. I want a "save" button on the Block Email page so I can add these offensive email addresses from every coming to my email SPAM folder. In other words, I don't want to even see these lewd SPAM messages. And, by your inaction, it is getting worse.

i have spoken to at least 10 tech support people; Alex, on 10/17/22 is the first one who has told me I have reached the 1,000 e-addresses sent to BLOCK Sender, e.g., SPAM. 1) Why have others wasted my time? 2) Why does AOL have a limit? 3) What is AOL doing to stop SPAM in the first place. 4) Why are 5-10 SPAM e-mails getting into my Inbox in the first place?
Will you tell me AOL is not improving its service, service for all customers and long-tiime customers like me?

I am quite aware that you have blocked me features to block an email
Don't you think I've used that and I'm supposed to go through 4,000 emails and Inter 4000 block messages it doesn't make sense to me at all
It makes no sense and they keep changing the email name they keep changing the Domain name I said this over and over again you cannot block something if they're constantly changing the domain name and the email name what good is it having that and I get 4,000 spam emails in my box all the time it happens over and over again stop blowing me off and everybody else by telling them to do their little settings no settings are Duck Soup
You need to have a way to block automatic emails coming to AOL in the only way to do that is to have a numbering system to where the sender has to enter a 3 digit number before it hits the email while I count
It's simple if someone's emailing someone on AOL they have to get a reply back saying that they have to enter a 3 digit code to complete their email being sent
And if they don't enter the code number then their email just doesn't get sent that's just the bottom line there's no keeping it in the spam folder there's no keeping it in the delete photo it's permanently blocked until that person complies with the rules you guys go around and around and around with this in no one gets nowhere and it's very annoying very frustrating when you blow people off by telling them to read a freaking article that does absolutely no good!!!!!!!
Rather than blowing someone off come up with some ideas that can stop the spam all together again changing it blocking it will that does no good they simply come up with a new username and a new domain names and they send the same BS over and over again!!!!!🙄

Everytime I look in the spam folder for my deleted mail there are 1,000 2,000 3,000 emails and all of those are automated email sent out by Bots and it's very annoying very frustrating when I have to Cipher through that BS to find my stuff of something I might have missed something that's important that someone's letting me know and it gets shoved over into that mess and so I'm ciphering through thousands of freaking emails in this so-called spam folderThe answer is not making a spam folder to get rid of the spam because my stuff gets caught up in all that ****
What you ought to do is get rid of the automated emails and by doing that you can have them THE SENDER OF THE EMAIL enter a code when emailing someone USING THE AOL EMAIL it can be a 3-digit number you can do it automatic email back saying that you must enter a 3 digit code for THE SENDER Email to be sent through to the AOL user that would take care of it right there
And I'm surprised that you all had and done that because it's very frustrating and very annoying having to Cipher to hundreds of thousands of emails to find the email that you might need to read
And I said this over and over again you say block certain words will they come up with other words it just goes back and forth surely you can do better than what you're doing your charging people to use the service you're charging people to use the software
It with my Google account I nearly don't have as much junk coming through and that's free absolutely free you guys are going to have to do much better than what you're doing is very shameful that you're just taking people's money and yet they have to look at these stupid ADS that they don't want to see and be subject to thousands of BOT MAILS which can be avoided
You are really need to get your acts together and stop this **** from coming to people's emails everything you seem to think of does not work and it only gets worse you have to do this automated thing to where the sender receives a notice that their mail will not go through unless they enter a three digit code to complete the transaction and that'll solve it right there unless you like all that BS coming to people's emails and that's very annoying very frustrating

same here. I get 30 to 40 spams emails all with the same look but they change one part on each one so blocking doesnt seem to work. I have also put in the same part to block and it still gets through. Very annoying and everything runs so so slow. I would change but I have had my email forever and its tied to everything. GET BETTER AOL!

Does anyone recommend a different email provider that deals with spam more effectively? My phone does a far better job of blocking spam phone calls and texts.

I have maxed out the number of email addresses to be blocked. I have check the spam control that blocks all email not in my address book. I have an email address I received daily that is in my address book, but will not come to my inbox unless I turn off the spam control that only allows mail that is in my address book. So I am back to receiving dozens of spam email every day. AOL does nothing, leading me to believe that AOL has no intention of dealing with reducing spam email. Does anyone want to get email from Unknownsender@unknownsender.com? They won't even block that.

Spam blocking needs to have a "Contains the phrase" option. Spammers are adding suffixes to domain names so you can't block them all. I get hundreds of these a week, all with slight changes to the domain name, such as 124418747@addtocartnow-653zr.co.uk, 124418747@addtocartnow-22327.co.uk, 124418747@addtocartnow-5t5g8.co.uk. I got 42 of these in one day!

Most of my spam comes from 2 or 3 places. They change the beginning words with different stuff....but the ending words (domain) are all the same. Please come up with a SPAM CONTROL where we can just put the domain in there to stop them from entering my emails.
Example:
1234@marksmarket.com
5678@marksmarket.com
