  1. PLEASE REMOVE THE MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORD 4.8 POPUP FROM MY COMPUTER

    Can you remove and/or tell me how to remove the MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORK 4.8 popup AOL placed on my computer? It deactivates all forward progress unless closed or canceled and is really invasive. Thanks.

    I understand this looks invasive, but .NET Framework is a Microsoft component and it has to be updated regularly for other programs to work properly, not just AOL Desktop Gold. You can continue to cancel or close the window, but at some point, you will need to update this specific component as well as part of your Windows Updates. Thanks for understanding!

    REMOVE THE 5 AOL ITEMS YOU HAVE ADDED INTO MY 'FAVORITE PLACES' I SHOULD HAVE THE CHOICE WHAT TO PUT IN THERE-I AM AFTER ALL PAYING FOR THIS SITE AND YOU HAVE NOW CLOGGED UP MY LIST, PUT THEM ALL ON TOP, AND I CAN'T EVEN SEND THEM TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST OR DELETE THEM.

  3. Continue to get email supposedly from AOL saying all accounts will be deleted

    Question-- Continue to get email supposedly from AOL saying all accounts will be deleted. Feel this is just spam, band it now goes into spam folder, but guess I am sending this as surprised that AOL does not stop it from even making it to my spam folder. Just checking to get confirmed info that this is spam which I feel sure it is!!

  5. Give us the option to save browsing HISTORY like Chrome, Firefox, etc.

    Would be great if AOL Gold preserved our history of sites visited like Chrome, Firefox, etc. I have my browser set to 'remember the last browsing session.' Recently had a crash and some of my open web pages could not be retrieved. Because there is no history of previous sites I have visited that extends very far back, I cannot locate several important web pages I had open.

  6. FIX ADDRESS BOOK WITHOUT CHANGING MY CATEGORY LISTS

    Yesterday I spent another 4+ hours with techs because AOL Gold removed the 98 names I had in a Clovis Class of 1957 category list. They were not able to return the list to what it was before GOLD. Therefore, I had to recreate the list from scratch. As your records will show, I had to do this with an Amputee list of 200-300 names last February or March....this one took me 3 days with tech support to find out I had to recreate it from scratch which took me another two days. I have asked this to be corrected…

    Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, the option to use special characters for contacts and groups is no longer available. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please use the word “and” instead of the & symbol, and instated of an apostrophe use a space. Thank you.

    Please try to clear the Browser Footprints in order to solve the issue:

    Here’s how:
    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    If you still encounter issues call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  8. My AOL Desktop Gold was not available and I called AOL to fit it. Now they have deleted all my data (folders and emails) since AOL Gold was

    All my folders and mails were deleted by the tech when I called in to have my AOL Desktop Gold reinstalled. The old files from the old AOL system are there but everything since AOL Desktop was installed are gone.

    I am very upset and all I hear from AOL is sorry, can't do anything for you.

  9. I want to be able to block all email from a specific domain. I get constant spam from the same domain.

    I constantly get spam from different email addresses from the same domain. Here is one example: rby1gCGqB8.uwKSBQmmpJ@thumboctopus.net

    I want to be able to block all emails from thumboctopus.net

    Please follow the steps in order to block the domain:

    1. Click on Mail on the top left.

    2. Select “Block Unwanted Mail” from the drop-down menu.

    3. Make sure “Block mail from addresses I specify” is selected and then type the domain name in the box below (e.g. @domain.com)

    4. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

  10. Passwords

    You told me, on several occasions, that if I went to "Edit", "Startup settings", "Passwords", I would find the "saved passwords" - NOT SO. You may want to test this "feature" ... If obviously does not work.

    Make sure you have the option “Offer to save passwords I enter on the web” checked by going to:

    Edit > Browser Settings > Passwords.

    Once you access a webpage and enter your login credentials a pop-up will appear on the top of the browser window. Click on the Save Password option. After that follow the steps presented above to see the website and password stored in the Gold software.

  11. fix the emails, yeah my inbox is back but I am not getting emails I have deleted most of my inbox

    You may have resolved the missing emails but I am not receiving new emails, one or two come in very slowly from hours ago, I am waiting on an important email at this rate it might get here in a week. Then it'll be expired!

  13. Please allow users to nest sub-folders in one folder

    It takes me more than a minute to scroll through the folders and that was before AOL dropped the feature of alphabetizing folders. Now it takes longer.

    Users need the optiony to put subfolders such as a project under a master folder such as a client's name.

    Thank you for the suggestion, currently, the only place where you can make subfolders is “Saved on my PC” folder.

  14. TRASH IT!!!! FOR LAST 3-4 MONTHS I HAVE CALLED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT FAILED SERVICEIN DESTOP GOLD....I AM STILL GETTING SAME PROBLEMS OVER PA

    FAILED DEST TOP GOLD AND THE AOL TECH ACKNOWLEDGES MY PROBLEMS WITH "SORRY SIR WE ARE FIXING PROBLEM,,! ONE TECH ADDED THE OLD AOL DESK TOP ICON TO MY DESK TOP SO I NOT USE DESKTOP GOLD. TODAY I CALL IN WITH SIMILAR REPORT OF LOST EMAILS WHICH I HAVE DRAFTED AND TRYING TO SEND. YESTERDAY'S jAN.25 INVESTMENT PROPOSAL WAS SUDDENLY LOST FROM MY PC AND NOT ABLE TO FIND ON BOMGARD....THIS SAME PROPLEM OCCURES 2 TIME IN DEC AND JAN BUT AOL REFUSES TO FIX....MY AOL LOST STOLEN MAIL IS AN CRITICAL IMPORTANT EMAIL TO M.OFARRELL OF AOL....ANY AOL…

  15. After reviewing all comments about the ads, I notice one of the plans, Advantage Premium Plus, for $30.99 offers "Ad Free AOL Mail".

    Is this the answer to all the comments/complaints about the "ADS" ?
    Offer an New Plan, Advantage Preimium Plus for $30.99 for ad free AOL Mail? Seems like a sham to get more money. Guess that's the way problems are solved. You've got to pay more to fix something. What a sham you guys are.

    To clear footprints please follow this steps:

    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. 2. Select Footprints to Clear" – check “Cookies” – and click on Clear Footprints
  19. Why does "Keyword" respond in the same way as a regular search? It used to mean keywords within the AOL program and was helpful:o(

    I'm among your longest users. Why does "Keyword" respond in the same way as a regular search now, suggesting other, unrelated sites? Duplicative! It used to mean keywords within the AOL program and was helpful with how to do a task in AOL. And the changes to "Help" rendered it unhelpful. Not happy. I've loved AOL for 20 years, but since Gold I'm using Explorer and Chrome more and more. Not happy:o(

    When being redirected from the AOL Keywords box to a search results page, it means that the Keyword you were looking for does not exist. By going to the Keyword: Settings, you can open the General Settings screen from where you can make all the changes within the AOL Desktop Gold. Also by clicking on the Settings A-Z link on the top of the General Settings window, you can access additional options for account management and marketing preferences.

  20. I don't even know what kind of AOL I have, whatever it is, it doesn't work for me so I avoid using it.... help

    FIX AOL. Don't need fancy need basic need filing cabinet I PAY MONEY FOR AOL, MAYBE I SHOULDN'T BEEN PAYING FOREVER
