1. chat room

   Every time I go into a chat room after I type a few sentence I get frozen out. I need to go out then back in then it happres again. This happens on both my computers. Any suggetions

2. AOL needs to stop pushing software on its customers. One just ruined my computer hard drive.

   Years ago I had purchased Systems Mechanic, discovered it didn't live up to its performance and I canceled it. Then last year, AOL representative pushed hard for me to buy the new version, saying it would really help me keep my computer running well. Yesterday I had done a memory defrag that recommended several passes. Then right after I noted suddenly I could no longer transfer files from my C drive for a weekly back up session. I have a contract with HP Smartfriend and the tech support did an excellent job in trying to get my file transfer working again. However in a hard drive the hard drive failed, giving a failed ID that HP could verify. I told them about System Mechanics, and they said it was a good program but sometimes it could cause problems on the computer such as in defrags. To now repair my computer it will cost me $400 for HP, which instead I will probably head down to BestBuy.

   I am very upset because I had not wanted this Systems Mechanic but the AOL assistant kept pushing and pushing. I just AOL would please stick to what it does best and stop selling all these programs to stuff its pocket with more profits. Running a Web site, I need my computer and wish that AOL would get out of this business as if a used car lot.

5. Missing a ton of email

   Inbox says I have several emails I mean thousands (which I should because I am lazy and don't check often plus get a lot of junk) but I have 4 new emails and old ones I had saved as new a long time ago. Where did the rest go? Says 3000 emails has 15... Where did they go, when I need to see some of them? Is this because of windows update? Windows 10 updated, and restarted then my aol was unresponsive, I ended the task now no matter how many times I close and open aol I can't see my emails.

6. AOL Browser problems

   AOL Browser problems are enough to make a preacher's wife cuss, and I should know because I was one for 25 years! Talk about testing my patience!!! Here goes: 1) Once I click on the aol icon, it takes far too long to get even the first signin screen. 2)Once I enter my password, God only knows what response I'm going to get. So far - today alone - I have signed on, only to have a '118 error - timed out' screen pop up repeatedly. The only way I could close aol was by using the task manager. 3) If I am finally able to get thru #2, then when I type in www.google.com or www.yahoo.com and do a search on their sites, suddenly aol search kicks in and deletes the pages I'm looking at from the other sites. 4) I have signed on, finally gotten to what should be the welcome screen, and it's black with the 118 error message on it! 5) I have also signed on, and instead of loading the welcome screen, I get a page asking if I want to save something on my computer. 6) I've tried repeatedly today to specify these problems by doing a 'feedback,' but when I click on it, aol freezes or gives me an error message. And then I can't get out of aol unless I use the task manager. Before you ask, I've gone into my browser settings and cleared them. I've cleared my temp files for flash, java, internet history, done disk cleanup, checked to make sure all updates are current. Every day that I sign onto AOL, it's something else that is quirky and causes a lot of frustration. AOL, I used to really enjoy you, and I am still fighting to stay with you but SOMETHING has GOT to GIVE!

   I am having trouble on my welcome screen. It was fixed a while ago by support. Now I am having problems again. Sent many emails to please help me again with my problem. This time nobody is getting back to me. What good is support when they are not there to help. Thanks AOL for nothing. Support was good, now getting bad.

8. Access Denyed

   Please dont put blockers on account. We have had an AOL account for eons. Last week there was some kind of blocker the cause my laptop to lock up. Had to shut down every time I opened AOL. I contacted the number on the message about a problem with our account. The lady said we owed $ 28.00 approx, and they would fix if we paid the bill.
   
   Please review our account. Long time user, my wife pays the bills. I think she has done f fine job. I believe wwe have excellent credit and pay our bills. If the bill was a few days late we should not have our service interrupted, and i should not have to write this message. I would like some consideration for my inconvenience. This is not a ggod way tpo retain customers. I have a icloud account and it would be easey to just cancell this account. Please correct this kind of activity if poeple continue to not pay their bills over a period of time then i would understand.

    Give us an incentive to stay with AOL Gold. You forced us to give up AOL plain and now all we have is things that need fixing. Either refund some of your monthly fees or else give us some fee-less months of hapless service. I just wrote a complicated e-mail and put it in "mail waiting to be sent." I wanted to check one or two facts before I sent it. Now the e-mail is in my "drafts" mailbox and I cannot retrieve it. It is too long and complicated to re-write and I don't think competent internet service should require me to re-write it.

13. Suddenly unable to close aol without having to end task

    Today every time I open aol, when I close it, it basically freezes with a big pop up does not close, also had this happen when attempting to close a tab. I don't know what's going on but everything was fine yesterday, now I have to open task manager and kill aol, I can't switch between browsers on different open programs when this happens it appears that my pc freezes, yet I can still open task manager. I'm guessingthere was an update during the night...

15. AOL just 'upgraded' their software. Now you can't even get photos to appear in your emails without manually attaching them.

    AOL just 'upgraded' their software. It used to be that you could insert a photo in your email by using the picture button and it would automatically insert that as an attachment. That doesn't work anymore. Now you have to manually insert the photo as an attachment at the bottom because if you don't you will see the photo in your email but it won't go through. What a joke!.

    I am very disappointed in your desk top Gold to say the least. Ever since I started with it years ago, my computer will periodically freeze up and I need to restart it – even with a brand new computer I truly have to restart my computer at least 12 – 15 times per day. I use this for work purposes and find that the storage on AOL gold is most inadequate and probably should be marketed to those only using it for family & friends - I run a business using it. I cannot get files I stored on AOL Gold PC, when I go to webmail, they don’t exist and I only am forced to go to webmail because my AOL keeps freezing up! This has happened on 3 different computers. The only reason I’m still with you is because I’ve been with you since 1995 and have had hopes this would be fixed and user friendly for small businesses, but it has only been worse when you introduced Gold – it’s awful!! Please, please make this easier; store more, etc., to support a small business or at least a person with a lot of contacts and files!

20. probems with aol tech fortress

    Your Tech Mary said she was going to connect me to Billing. I told her I thought they were closed tonight but she said I could reach someone by requesting “get live help.” That did not work out.

    I have had five problems so far with your app AOL TECH FORTRESS over the three days that your AOLtech convinced me to give it a try. I want it removed ASAP and I should not be charged for it.

    Problem #! I neeedd to get on an educational website for a school project. AOL TECH FORTRESS would not allow it. It was a well recognized educational site used by scientists and their students everyday.

    Problem#2 I needed help from a Net Gear technician on Jan 12 to install a certain science program I needed; we were finally able to do that after temporarily reducing TECH FORTRESS’s security level to allow install.

    Problem#3 Tonight, Jan.13. I was having all kinds of problems with AOL (a) raspy, slow, draw-out audio, (2) up/down cursor to right of email page moved improperly or not at all (c) the three buttons supposed to be on top right of random email pages were absent (minus sign, horizontal rectangle and plus sign) so that page could not be navigated.

    Problem#4 Generalized slow response of computer to commands. Computer had recently been optimized.
    Your tech could not help me solve the sound problem, nor the other problems, but I did get her to uninstall and reinstall AOL Gold. Sound problem and great slowness persisted. She tried all she knew how to do.I think what she did weventually help, but not while she was working with it. She did not have me do a RESTART.

    Problem@5 I called my paid Netgear tech who had great difficulty taking control of my computer since AOL TECH FORTRESS kept popping up and interfering.. And in this case it would not allow me to temporarily reduce the security level. She tried three ways to take control, black and by some different method I don’t understand she finally succeeded. The computer went black and she had me do a 60 sec power down and start it back up. I was sweating, but computer came back on. Sound is now working fine. It seems faster. The few email pages I tried worked OK.

    I had trouble with your Super Anti Spyware in the past. McAfee techs had told me on two occasions it was interfering with my McAfee AntiVirus Plus. Every time I call AOL tech, they try to get me to try Super AntiSpyware again. I DO NOT want to try AOL TECH FORTRESS OR SUPERANTI SPYWARE again!

    Trying to get this messase to you I lost one AOL Tech tonight. And after I typed this case out for another AOL tech and tried to enter it, I only had message client left the chat and all my typed material was gone, So, I hope you get this chat. Please have AOL Billing call me in AM after 10:00 AM CST, and have someone remove AOL TECH FORTRES from my billing and from my computer. Netgear tech had offered to remove program but I thought you should do it so you can know it is off computer and stop any charges.
