    To enable the mailbox opening at startup please follow the steps: Edit > Startup settings > check the box next to “Mailbox”.

    Changes are saved automatically.

  4. Account payment

    I am getting a screen message that I need to give updated account information on billing, or I will not be able to access. I don't respond that way, but when I try to sign on to my account it is down. What's happening?

  5. It should not be necessary to sign on to read mail saved on one's computer.

    The last time I complained about this, Product Support responded "The personal filing cabinet is stored in a local database folder, which can be opened by accessing the path below in the Windows Run box (press the Windows key + R): LOCALAPPDATA\AOLDesktopData\db." That suggestion is male bovine excrement. If you do that, you get a message "Windows cannot find LOCALAPPDATA\AOLDesktopData\db. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." And why SHOULD Windows be able to open an AOL file? As with all your suggestions, your "fix" is laughable. Equally laughable are your repeated troubleshooting solutions for slowness…

  6. chrome update

    Chrome Browser is very out of date. AOL Gold on new windows 11 computer uses chrome 106. Google docs, secure payment sites and other highly secure site will not accept this. However, if I open AOL in another browser, firefox, chrome, etc access the same email i can open the links. Why will AOL not update my browser to the latest version. Have worked with your technical support team and the lead of the department. We have uninstalled and reinstalled AOL and the old browser still populates. This has been going on for months.   10. Videos have sound but no picture and just a black screen while playing in facebook

    In order to resolve the blank video issue, please follow the steps below:

    1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold and sign in.
    2. Open the Keyword box by pressing CTRL+K.
    3. Type the following keyword and press GO: blank video fix
    4. Restart the AOL Desktop Gold.

    The Stationery feature is now available in the AOL Desktop Gold.

    To customize your email with a stationery, follow these four easy steps:

    1. Sign in to AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click ‘Write’ in the upper left.
    3. At the top, click the Extras menu (below the subject line) and select Stationery.
    4. Browse or search through the categories on the right and choose one you’d like.

    To remove your stationery background, click the Extras menu | select Remove Background.

    In case you do not see the Stationery option, you will need to update the AOL Desktop Gold to the latest revision. To do that, click on the Help menu on the top, select ‘Check for Updates’, and after 10-15 minutes close and re-open the software.

This desktop software doesn't always load my emails once I've signed on...but it NEVER fails to load the advertising!!!! (Obviously advertising has precedence over my need to read and respond to emails!) Also, when I am responding to an email and delete what the other person has sent me in order to respond, the program doesn't recognize my preferences in font and size any longer. It is changed to some weird default font and size; I have to change it back to my preference…

    Windows OS - Alt Key Numeric Codes have stopped filling in email composition field.

    I frequently use the Alt Key Code characters to impart a thought when corresponding with peers via email.
    Currently after moving the cursor to the text composition field and pressing the 'Left ALT' key the cursor disappears after the three digit numerical code is applied.
    I do find that now when the 'Left ALT' key is depressed along with an alpha character that is the first character in the AOL drop down options at the top pf the desktop it opens the corresponding title.
