  1. FIX ADDRESS BOOK WITHOUT CHANGING MY CATEGORY LISTS

    Yesterday I spent another 4+ hours with techs because AOL Gold removed the 98 names I had in a Clovis Class of 1957 category list. They were not able to return the list to what it was before GOLD. Therefore, I had to recreate the list from scratch. As your records will show, I had to do this with an Amputee list of 200-300 names last February or March....this one took me 3 days with tech support to find out I had to recreate it from scratch which took me another two days. I have asked this to be corrected…

    Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, the option to use special characters for contacts and groups is no longer available. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please use the word “and” instead of the & symbol, and instated of an apostrophe use a space. Thank you.

  2. Aol can't or won't fix dropping off. I now use Microsoft with NO drop offs.

    Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into the issue you are experiencing with the software closing unexpectedly. To do that, please follow these steps:

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.
    3. Type a short description of the problem, and click Send.

    For immediate assistance with this issue, please call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  3. Option to Block Responses to Comments on Articles Should Be Restored

    There used to be a feature in which one could block replies to member comments on articles. For the first time ever, I am getting replies to one of my comments sent to me in email. I don't want to receive comments and certainly not in my email. The only solution seems to be to delete my profile. This setting seems to have disappeared.

    Please follow the next steps:

    1. Open an AOL News article.
    2. Click on your Nickname on the top right corner of the comment section.
    3. Select ‘Settings’ from the drop-down menu.
    4. From the ‘Get emails when’ section, uncheck the three options.
    5. Click ‘Save Changes’ on the top left.

  5. Not able to post comments on AOL Articles

    I have been working with your  TOSgeneral and aolmailquestions@aol.com departments to unblock my ********.aol.com account from posting comments to articles. They unblocked my other account *****@aol.com but could NEVER unblock the ********@aol.com account. The other day I tried posting a message and it did post and I got a like notification in my email box. NO ONE FROM AOL advised me that I am finally unblocked which I have raised as an issue for about 1 1/2 years! This is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and HORRIBLE SERVICE in general.I want a full refund of everything I have…

  6. Portfolio

    Anyway to restore my Portfolio?. I understand Portfolios were transferred to Yahoo. However, a recent upgrade to Yahoo Business erased all my Portfolios.

    Go to Settings – Mail – General – and uncheck ‘Hide images and disable links in mail from unknown senders’.

  8. I do a search by e-mail address. Way too many people who do not have that e-address appear. What is happening?

    Fix AOL so that when I search by e-mail, the e-addresses of other people do not show up.

    When using the Quick Find to search your mailbox, you will receive results based on the email address and email subject. To do a refined search, click on Read, select the Search Mail tab from the top of the mailbox, choose “Email Address Only” from the Search drop-down, then search for the email you want.

  9. Can't find where to adjust (or stop) auto sign off. When I TRIED to get an answer from chat, I was told to reinstall the entire program!!

    I want more time before auto sign off. All info is for OLD AOL not Gold. Chat agent told me to just reinstall the entire program. How does that show me where to locate the option to adjust sign off time? When I asked during the chat, he just left me hanging and quit chatting. And I get to PAY for this great service??!!!

    Please try to clear the Browser Footprints in order to solve the issue:

    Here’s how:
    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    How do I create a new folder, the option in manage folders is grayed out even if I click on a folder.

    To create a mail folder, first click on either ‘Saved on AOL’ or ‘Saved on My PC’ then from the ‘Manage Folders’ section select ‘Create Folder’.

    In case there are no arrows on the sides of the toolbar, it means that all the toolbar icons are already displayed on the screen. If you add more toolbar icons, until they cannot be all displayed at the same time, you will see the side arrows.

  13. You are changing the mail not for the better why are you printing last names and yesterday?

    Bring back the mail the way it was before you are not improving it. I don't like the word yesterday and last names being printed. Why are you touching the email. You need to leave it the way it has always been. Bring back the buddy list and ims better.

    You can now change the date format, by following the steps below:

    1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.
    2. Click on the Settings icon on the toolbar.
    3. Select the Mail category from the left hand side.
    4. From the ‘Date Style’ section, select Date Only (old format).

    To see the sender’s email address Go to Edit – Mail Settings – select ‘Email Address’ next to View (changes are saved automatically)

    The radio button has been removed from the Address Card view. The ‘Primary E-Mail’ field will be the main email address that will show in your Address Book.

    I have mentioned several times about not being able to use the local news and information for my location on the home page andof course nothing. It tells me everyday nothing to report. It has for several years been able yo.

    Sometimes, when you see incorrect local information (such as the news or weather for a different location) on your Welcome Screen, you may want to verify your location is correct. This can be done by making sure your correct City, State is in the top left of your Welcome Screen.
    If it is not, please click “Update Your Location” under Local News and Weather, enter your Zip Code and press Save.

    If this does not work, please clear the footprints in the software and try again.
    Then try adding your Zip Code again.

    Although the option to open the emails in a maximized window is not available, you can adjust the email window to fit the screen and open every email to that size. To do this, first open an email, then click and drag the top bar of the window to reposition it on your screen, and click and drag the outside border of the window to modify its size in order to fit the entire screen. After you set your preferred window size and position, click on the Window menu on the top bar, and select ‘Save Window Size and Position’ from the drop-down menu.

  17. AOL ALLOWING SCAMMERS IN CHAT ROOMS?

    Hi there, the reason why that person is not listed in “People Here” is because he left the chat room.

    If you see content in an AOL Chat that violates the AOL Terms of Service, let us know right away.

    1. While in a chat, select a username from the ‘People Here’ list.
    2. Using your cursor, highlight the portion of the conversation that’s in violation.
    3. Click Notify AOL.

  18. Rude Techs

    Tired of rude techs that disconnect or are unprepared. AOL help started as wonderful. Now it is a service that I discontinued years ago due to both rudeness and incompetence.

  19. AOL Financial Pages are Basically Worthless and Outdated!!

    SORRY - BUT -- AOL FINANCE which I guess from page is directed by Huff Post is an absolute waste. many articles posted today under business go back to February date and maybe even older. I had quit even looking as it is so worthless, but tried again today
    GOT NOTHING WORTHWHILE FROM IT !
    This is a disgrace and you would be better off stopping it or better get an up to date service with real business and market news!!
    Just disgusting to click on such a sorry site!!

  20. Sending Email

    In all of the previous versions of AOL we have always been able to send email by pressing......Ctrl and Shift. This made sending very easy. It's not a big thing but it would be great if you would return that.......makes sending soooo much easier!! thanks

    If you keep the mouse cursor in the To field you can send the email pressing CTRL and Enter.
