  1. McAfee not user friendly

    I am enrolled in McAfee Security as provided via AOL Gold. I am not very happy with McAfee. When I initiate a scan of my computer, the app runs for hours with out any indication of what it is doing, finding or how far along it is on the completion of the scan. The old Super Antivirus Spyware was a much more user friendly and informative app.

  2. AOL Gold is Terrible need a new browser. inbox not necessary. cursor cannot open anything sometimes.my2018 emails disappear at times

    why do you need inbox , new and old mail. inbox is redundant. liked the old way. my cursor at times cannot open anything and then i have to reboot or restart my computer every time. my 2018 messages disappear at times and then reappear at another time. Lower my price. I am paying for a inferior product. Like the old browser that was replace with Gold

  4. AOL DESKTOP GOLD

    I contacted AOL on 2/17 that i just purchased a new HP Windows 10
    computer and a message keeps coming up
    MY AOL SETTINGS ARE OUT-OF - DATE.
    You suggested that I contact AOL Tech. which I did and they
    reinstalled AOL Desktop Gold on 2/18.
    Today I just received 2 messages on Desktop that
    MY AOL SETTINGS ARE OUT-OF - DATE.
    Please correct.

    The pop-up you are seeing is from a 3rd party email client on your computer, probably Windows Mail. The reason why it’s asking you to update the settings, is because your account was probably setup using an older/incorrect password, or the incoming/outgoing servers are using the incorrect ports.

    In case you are not using Windows Mail, you can delete your email account from this application, by following the steps from the following Microsoft Support article: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/delete-an-email-account-from-mail-and-calendar-apps-dba65c49-648d-4d76-9f88-b7bc22a2cc3d

    If you do want to use the Windows Mail app, we recommend following the steps from the article above to remove the account, and then re-add it by following the steps here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/set-up-email-in-the-mail-app-for-windows-10-7ff79e8b-439b-4b47-8ff9-3f9a33166c60

  5. Lighten up on customers having to prove who they are to you!

    Using a variety of online devices is NOT unusual and is NOT necessarily a security risk worthy of being challenged! At home I have a desktop AND a laptop. At work I use yet another computer. And my cell phone is yet another online device. So PLEASE don't make me run around to a second device just to prove to you that I'm ME!

  6. Every time I try to sign on I get the message that the software needed to sign on must be reloaded. Why was it erased at all?

    When working off line w/Microsoft Word I keep getting a reminder that the software needed to sign-on to AOL needs to be added. Your pop-up message contaminated my Word data file and now I can't erase, close or access the file. Thanks a lot. I lost 1/2 hours work and now the file is inaccessible! It seems your software is erased every time I log off. Why? Why? I've been a loyal customer for over 25 years and you are on the verge of losing me.

  7. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE NEWS EVERY TIME I LONG ON DURING THE DAY. THERE SHOULD BE AN OPTION TO SEE IT ONCE AUTOMATICALLY, WITH OPTIONS

    IT'S OK TO SEE THE POP UP AUTOMATIC NEWS WHEN I FIRST LOG ON IN THE MORNING IN, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE WELCOME SCREEN NEWS IF I AM OFF AND ON THE COMPUTER SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, JUST WANT TO CHECK AND RESPOND TO MY EMAIL ETC.     clean up that site. Too many ads, too many 'jumps' when trying to get to the "next" short part of the story - gets to where one needs a therapist to try to read some of the things you present. They COULD be enjoyable, I consider them mind warping.

    If you received a Final Notice email to upgrade to AOL Desktop Gold, it means that you tried to sign into (probably inadvertently) the old AOL Desktop in the past few weeks. Since you already have the AOL Desktop Gold installed on your computer, you can ignore the Final Notice email.

    Please import the saved data from the old software into AOL Desktop Gold. Please follow the steps in the help article below.

    You don’t need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    Why am I getting mail from friends in which words are not words but are gibberish symbols?? They did NOT send them that way, and I have no idea what they wished to say in the email. This is true on the computer, the phone, the notebook, anyplace there is AOL. EGAD, how incompetent can you be??? Reading WORDS is the point of email!!

  12. Unable to add multiple email addresses

    When I try to add multiple contacts into the " To" line the line moves in the content box after typing 2 contacts, and then i need to click again on the " to" line and type in another contacts, then the bar moves again

    There I am already signed on using gold when all of a sudden I hear, "Goodbye", and the message "Error retrieving Account Info Please Try Again." pops up! You had my account information that's why i was signed on...how the .............did you lose and kick me off? I know, I know, you'll merge this with other stuff. instead of doing that all the time, try fixing why it happens and when you do fix something,, yea right, how about you let us know if that isn't too much trouble. $17+ a month for aggravation!   14. How about getting the bugs out of it?

    One of many bugs in AOL Gold is emails I write and try to save to the Drafts folder take a minute or more to arrive there, and even when they finally do, they don't close, even if I then send the email. Instead, the Buttons to Send or Save as a draft buttons become active again, allowing me to save the email in the Drafts folder AGAIN. Meanwhile, the email I just sent, or thought I did, and which had disappeared from the Drafts folder, reappears, so that I will have TWO copies of the same email in the…

  15. Mail problems and This Feedback method and total lack of easy support SUCKS!!!!

    Since downloading AOL Gold when I had to reset my computer, it does't work right. Sometimes Sent or New mail doesn't show for hours!! Very frustrated!!! And now I have to sign in when I'm already signed in??? Really?!!! And forcing me to sign in on a Voice thingy sucks too. I've been with you since the 80's and am about to stop... what happened to "service"????

  16. Dont like AOL Gold.....

    i have 3 computers that has AOL 9.8.2 and now i get a message that i cant login into the 9.8.2 anymore and that you are discontinuing that software. i have 1 computer using AOL Gold and have never liked it. i have been a customer for about 16 years and never missed a payment over those years and now you just discontinue me from 9.8.2. i will probably quit AOL since i cant use what i want and what i have paid for all these years!!

  17. Since the last update I can no longer bring up the Stop $ Shop weekly circular

    Since your last update I can noi longer bring up the Stop&Shop weekly circular. The URL opens to a dead Stop&Shop page with no access to the circular. I cleared my browser and signed off and on again. My neighbor is having the same problem on her computer. I called Stop&Shop. There is no problem at their end.

    Hi there, we just released an update that will fix this issue. Please open your AOL Desktop Gold and sign in, then click on Help and select Check for Updates. Wait 5-10 minutes, then close and re-open AOL Desktop Gold.

    To make sure the update was installed, go to Help – “About AOL” and make sure you have the 11.0.1732 revision.

    Get RID of IN THE KNOW. If you try to watch it and you come in at the middle of a topic there is no way to repeat it. Also the screens are so fast you can write down a recipe or anything.

  20. AOL Desktop Gold - Display Compatibility

    AOL desktop gold is not displaying the email items and icon correctly on my computer. Whenever I hover over the email items it keeps on zooming and looks distorted. Icons are also missing when I hover over them. Tried to open this on safe mode and the distortion stopped happening but when I went back to normal mode this still keeps happening. I hope anybody can do something about this.
